Slight post upload edit. In my haste to put this video together, a Harris/Gers song slipped in (Lord of the Flies) and knocked another Harris only song off of the list (Fortunes of War). Video is now trimmed of LOTF #fakefan

I discovered Iron Maiden in 84/85 and they been my favorite band ever since. This is a very daunting task that you both had tackled and of course will always be a bone of contention for a lot of fans including myself but that's Iron Maiden fans for you. Steve Harris is my favorite bassist and musician of all time and of course written a lot of Maidens greatest songs (despite wherever they may be ranked by various fans) but I do admit the Death of the Celts is my favorite song off the Senjitsu album and absolutely love it, but if you both don't like it, I can take my lumps as well lol. Great job again at tackling this list.
This is such a brilliant idea for a debate. Cant wait for the dave murray song tier list! Can charlotte the harlot really be better then thin line between love and hate?! Thanks for the awesome content guys keep it coming! Tier lists, album reviews, more please!

Run to the Hills is Iconic.
And yup, Alexander is Iconic too. No one I've ever introduced to Maiden has failed to love either.

Good list, but Afraid to Shoot Strangers is only "good"??? :O It's brilliant!!! I wasn't aware that there were Maiden fans that didn't agree.
It's just tough when you see the other songs you've placed in the category and feel like it doesn't quite belong with them!! I really do like that song though 🤘
The one I actually gasped is how quickly you guys put The Clairvoyant in good when I think it's brilliant! Also I think Afraid to Shoot Strangers should also be brilliant.
Haha sorry!! All opinion based, I enjoy both of those songs, just not quite as much as the other songs in higher rankings 😆🙂

I really enjoyed this. I would love another list idea and I guess you can't miss with these videos. As a Maiden fan I just enjoy this content almost no matter what it is. I did watch the whole Monopoly thing so that is a testament I guess.
Creators argue that shorts and longs are bad on the same channel. But a short brought me here.
The fact that you are artistic along with love of music.
So if you were not an artist, maybe I wouldn't have come here today.

Yes they are my favorite band. Maybe one day, that's a bit hard for me as I'm so indecisive about "favorites" when it comes to Maiden

interesting choices ,everyone has their favourites, , the song that always sticks with me is running free not because its a favourite, but because it was the first ever track i heard back in 1980 before the album came out i got one of those floppy vinyl demo, records free in a music mag it had prowler and running free on it, anyway brought the first album the rest is history, uti

For me death of the Celts is Brilliant and Quest for Fire is Great
I guess I love Quest for Fire and Heaven Can Wait a lot more then the Capn. The thing with these songs is that you instantly can hear all the different parts of the songs in your head. They have so much to offer so I gotta go good if not great with both (they're great:) )
Musically Quest for Fire isn't bad but the lyrics are a bit too silly for me, haha!
Damn, Death of the celts 😭 not gonna act like it didn't get a bit boring for me on the future past tour but I still love that track for the album, but I suppose for you guys hearing it every night if you don't like it and it's forced at you every night, perfecrly reasonable to slap it at the bottom
It wasn't because of the tour, but the tour certainly didn't help any haha!
Quest for fire is a very good song

death of the celts at the bottom, no way. it was absolutely brilliant live the middle instrumental section is great
Could "Dumpster Fire" be a category below Cringe reserved for Don't Look to the eyes of a stranger? I just looked up the amount of times Blaze sings "Don't Look to" in the bridge, and it's like 62 times not counting the normal choruses.
I would only dare to add 3 other Maiden songs to that category, which aren't written by Steve alone:
Fear is the Key
The Apparition (worst Maiden song ever)
Weekend Warrior.
I can defend almost every other Maiden song except the above 4.
Angel and the gambler and educated fool can't touch any song on X Factor, but for me, they're listenable compared to DLTTEOAS.

I commented this to someone else, but even the music of QFF is fine, it's just the lyrics that make me groan enough to place it at the bottom haha.
@@Capnharris i believe Bruce would agree with you on QFF. I think he stated once that it was sort of a joke song just to prove that it could be done. The harmonies are awesome tho.
Now, i feel mean with my choice of words. Maybe Unpleasant is better.

When did you start listening to maiden? I can tell that you love the band but as someone that was waiting for piece of mind to come out, I disagree with alot of your assessments. But it's all just opinions.

I think Phantom would be classed more iconic in the U.K.
I had heard this track in the late 70’s before I even had heard of Maiden.
It was on a famous advert for a sports drink in the U.K.
The drink was Lucozade and Daly Thompson an Olympic athlete was in the tv advert.
Interesting, I'd never heard of it being involved with an ad over there and can see why it would rank more iconic for that reason!

Children of the Damned, at WORST, is brilliant. Unlike many metal bands "soft" songs this stood the test of time for me and is downright soulful
Vocal in the end is stunning! One of the best their songs 🎉
@@unicajamalaga2 - yeah it's so good it still gives me goose bumps the moment I hear it start. But Bruce sends it up many levels. Just a perfect vocal performance no other singer could have matched

@@unicajamalaga2 - 100%. Он не самый талантливый певец в мире, но своим лучшим песням придает неповторимый характер. Для меня это настоящее величие. Спой песню так хорошо, чтобы ни один другой певец (даже более талантливый) не мог сравниться с тем неповторимым ощущением, которое ты создал.

Don't know why you guys don't like Death of the Celts after hearing it so many times live it doesn't make sense to me it's an Absolute Amazing song I no you wanted The Parchment to be played but it doesn't make sense that you hate this song so much just because of that reason
It isn't because of that. It genuinely just doesn't do anything for me, even before they ever toured with any of the Senjutsu material.
Phantom is my iconic track, its awesome and its from the first release. But fans of different ages will have different iconic songs. FOTD is not iconic in my eyes. But its Maiden and we all love Maiden and it would be boring if we all liked the same songs. DOTC is a good song, so we can agree to disagree! Up the Irons
That's what makes Maiden so interesting. Everyone seems to like and dislike different songs. I have a friend who despises Monstegur and I can't believe it!! 😂
@@Capnharris next up best Adrian songs :) Maiden missed the playing of Mr Smith during the 90s he has such a great playing style that along with Dave and Jan is perfection on the ears.

Iron Maiden iconic? Because they always play it live. That is a bad reason in my opinion. If they would skip it live, I wouldn't bother. By the way... Infinite dreams is iconic....best song Maiden has ever made, my opinion.😉
