Even though expensive & frustrating if we don't get the very ones we want...these surprise balls are so fun. Especially when you do finally get the one you wanted. But I tell myself, many people go to the bar & spend $ on drinks & pull tabs. And they if they don't win, they don't have anything for that $ spent. At least these, you still end up with a cute miniture for your dollhouse, even if not one you wanted. And you can always share, trade, donate, sell them.

Before you open the new home balls, you can feel the little round part on the outside, where the inside has the hook. So if want to try for a "hanging " object...feel for that round button on the outside. It will be either a bird or a hanging plant.

The pencil markings are rather small and faint, they can look like scuff marks.
If you split the wrapper along the ridge of ball, it makes opening much easier.
Have you made any more pots with your pottery set? They would add variety and if they were larger you could combine multiple plants in one pot.
I have an idea for a possible build it project for you. Either a Little Library or a Blessing Box. They usually look like huge bird houses but are sometimes made of old newspaper boxes. Is Bob actually a minister? Maybe he would like Bob's Blessings.
