This is one of the reasons why I debate myself whether Led Zeppelin whom I saw in Frankfurt in 1980 or BOC at McNichols in Denver in 1981 was the best live show I have ever seen!!
Love it!! Triple guitar attack like no one else other than Skynryd. Saw them in Feb 1978 just before I turned 18 at the Nassau Coliseum on, LI, NY on a frigid and snowy night (10"). They opened for Rush. Saw something like this and a laser show so good it had to be banned. Those were the days, but still making great music. One of my all-time favorite rock bands! DEC 2020 FL USA
it's clear listening to their earlier records that they'd been listening to Steppenwolf. but their studio track of it sucks ,and I hate to say that about these guys ,rock legends.this makes up for it.
@@SonofSethoitae thank you for pointing that out. the cobwebs are growing on my memories. I must've heard some version at one point that I didn't think measured up. a friend of mine is going to see them in Sept. I told him "I saw them when you were about 7". they opened for someone else (I'd have to google it ,'cause I forget who) in around '72,'73. and the crowd loved them, like, "these guys are wild men". an act that bands didn't really want to follow. I love 'the Red and the Black'( 'Tyranny and Mutation'),and 'Spectres' in particular. but by no means am I an expert on them.
Ok, had to check this out, because the only other cover of this Steppenwolf song that I had heard, was Hinder, and their version just didn't do it for me. BOC's version sounds faster, but has a 60s/70s feel to it. I like it. Not on par with Steppenwolf, but very good.
Bastian, your English was fine. Only a small but devoted following really understand how great this band is ... to this day they are still a Fantastic live act.
At McNichols Arena in 1981, the lead singer drove a Harley on stage while the guitar player held the mike up to the tail pipe! Vroom Vrooom!
I saw them in Huntsville Alabama in 79 and he did the same thing.
BOC was born to sing this gem, with Eric "Sexy Man" Bloom on lead vocals, of course! !!!
Rock as theater in the eyes of the great BOC! As good as what The Who did. DEC 2020 FL USA
The 60s was where this band came from. They never forgot their roots.
I love that they also covered The Doors and other 60s bands. BOC is a gem!
Smokin' version of a Steppenwolf classic!

Far out!
Rush was still opening for BÖC in 78
Yes, Rush opened for BOC back then. BOC had a great stage show!
The grande finale. A 12 year old kid got the foot of the stage. I could tell he was having the proverbial life changing experience.

Saw these guys open up for Uriah Heep at The Capitol Centre in 1974. Awesome 🎼
Great cover of the great band that penned this beautie, Steppenwolf !!!!

@@tonym994 They never did a studio track of this though. It appeared on the live album "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees"

The brother of the drummer of S-wolf penned the words. IDK who did the arrangement.

Saw them in 81 at the Boston Garden.
@@screwedagain1 the show I saw was at the Civic Center in Providence.
@@TravisGann-m8b yes they did
Only 3000 views? What is the problem with this society?
I agree with you, from Chile it is difficult to find people who know this band.
PS: I do not speak English, sorry.
