    This one is well named - it really does have the feel of a camper/RV on the water IMO. I always enjoy the smaller vessel videos myself, just to see how efficient the manufacturer has been in maximizing the limited space. With 3 berths (2 cabins), one head, dinette, galley, and cockpit, I'd say they did pretty darn well. The range seems a bit low compared to what we're used to seeing of course, but for a leisurely river cruiser, the speed and distance will be understandably much lower than coastal cruising. For under 200k, this one does seem like a great option for small families wanting an option for weekenders, etc. As always, I really love the variety of craft on this channel.

    • @9VARZ
      @9VARZ 3 місяці тому +1

      It's probably docked more than 70% of its lifetime, though. So, those range numbers probably won't matter much anyway.

    Although coastal and open sea is great, there's something very appealing about inland waterway cruising. This is a lovely little boat for that, just right for a couple to take off across northern Europe.

    Interesting idea, but I'd want solar panels in more areas, enough to charge the large bats to some degree. Second thing I noticed is no rubber seal on the mirrored access door to the electronics from the bathroom. I see that as a possible ingress of moisture. Great video as always, thanks.

    • @jo_magpie

    It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 that's for sure but Mr Burnham sir people all around the world spend weeks and weeks travelling around in a campervan or tow around a caravan touring the roads systems,this is no difference for river systems and very well done,with a total of 5 births available which you only tend to get 4 on the road equivalent I think this is a good little package. I think holiday companies like Hoeseasons offering canal holidays with their narrow boats and their bigger modern camel boats should look into this one to offer a budget alternative 🤔 as always thank you Nick all the best from Cornwall 🤗🖖✌️

    The only boating knowledge I have is from watching Nick. My question is if you still need to have gas/diesel on board for heating/cooking/water heater why not just go with the gas engine? I feel unintelligent asking but is it something I’m not understanding?

      Some people want the quietness and efficiency of electric power whilst underway.

    What a great little boat. A caravan on the water. Nick, did you have a cold when you recorded this or the mic was covered?

      Yes it has twin windscreen wipers, they tuck in under the fwd overhang

      Literally any marina. As mentioned, it can charge from normal shore power. 😂

    As the saying goes; if you’re floating, then you’re boating. A bit tight. Different type of boat for sure.

    Forgive me if someone else asked this question, but, is the ONLY way to charge the batteries for the electric motor from shore power? You can't switch over the solar panels to charge either the house batteries or the batteries for the motor? That seems like an obvious design feature. Any comments from anyone? Greetings from Texas....John B.

      Correct solar charges the bowthruster and domestic batteries only, the panels are 300w. It would only be a token gesture on the propulsion batteries

    this boat world be perfect if they would offer a larger solar array and make it able to charge the main batteries.
    if their numbers are correct this boat will only use 2kWh to drive around for an hour, looking at the roof there should be space for at least 3kW worth of solar panel so on a sunny day you could keep going all day long without losing any charge.

    Not sure a bathing platform is needed for inland waterways, could have used the space for better at the stern perhaps?

      Hence the 29 version without the extended platform

    What is the battery capacity in kWh, so we can compare it with a car? 400 V 96 A gives us a power figure, not the capacity.

    • @leegibbonshome
      @leegibbonshome 3 місяці тому +1

      4x 10240 Wh

    • @origin178
      @origin178 3 місяці тому +1

      @leegibbonshome Thanks. 41 kWh is remarkably small for a boat, but then I guess it's not intended to do anything strenuous.

    Having the household and motor batteries separate so you have no ability to solar charge for running seems daft.
    I understand there's voltage differences and such. I suppose it's really a cost saving thing - it's not that difficult to run a transformer or two. I'd certainly pay extra if that was an option.

    • @leegibbonshome
      @leegibbonshome 3 місяці тому +1

      The 300w solar panel wouldn't provide any meaningful amount of charge for the propulsion batteries, but by looking after the bowthruster and domestic batteries there is no additional drain on the propulsion batteries

    • @vijilant
      @vijilant 3 місяці тому

      @@leegibbonshome wouldn't it though? There are solar canal boats that happily puddle along at 4 knots, which is the ideal inland speed.
      And you only need to trickle charge.
