It would be nice if they stopped playing the music so you can hear what they were saying. I am so tired of the same old songs over and over. Beautiful Brave Little Girl.
I've watched this several times and cannot help but be amazed with Ava's bravery, especially starting at 8:20.....can't help but adore her. I would have had a fit if I found myself alone with stranger's from a foreign land. Thank you Chris for taking the time and effort to make this great video and also the birthday one.
I love watching these videos... These children are so loved and wanted!!! I wish I had known about adoptions here in China, cause I would have adopted one of these children in 2006. But instead I became a grandmother that year and in 2008.. Beautiful children!!!
Barbi Button : oh Barbi I know. I’m 66 now & hubby is wanting to retire. We l.ost our 23 yr old daughter in a car accident, going to work when a car came into her lane hitting Stacy’s car. That was in October 24,2004.My husband and I aren’t over her death yet. Barbi, I live in Texas.
this little princess is desperatly trying to understand what is happening and it gives us an Idea how lonly they must feel as all they have ever known walks out the door.
The moment she realized she was left by her caregivers 😢 She must have felt so lonely.... Thank you for giving her a forever home. I hope she is never feeling this loneliness anymore
What a brave and beautiful girl. It must be so frightening for them at first to leave the only home and people they know. Thank you for sharing such a special moment in your life. Ava is a lucky girl to have such gentle and caring parents. God bless.
They did this the right way.Too many times I've seen them just cram these kids into the parents arms without giving them a chance to get used to them.I hate that.
I think a quick break by the nannies would be the best. The child belongs to the American and that person will have to deal with the tears sooner or later.
Thank you so much for sharing this video!! We are looking forward to our own adoptions! Adoption is from the heart of God and I know He will bless you abundantly for your love and care for this child!
Nice video. But too many things are thrusted in these kids faces at once. Sweets, toys and.... Rather do a simple activity with the little ones. Less is more life quality.
I just love how she is watching you and trying to figure everything out. How sweet that your guide told you that Ava carried your pictures everywhere...absolutely priceless. She's beautiful!! Best wishes from one China mama, to another!
Michael Ross Pearson What? Is that what you took from that comment? Well that's in your head , not mine! It's people like you that need help. I was staying two separate things, and from the likes that I see, most people are smart enough to recognise that. You are obviously not that smart! So I suggest that you stop trying to imply the worst in other people, and find out what is wrong with you.
This process is so wrong. 'Theres your new mother, go with her, do as your told, bye! The adopting parents should be made to make daily visits and form a bond with the child before taking it. This is more about parents neediness than the childs needs. If they genuinely cared about the child they would make it as less traumatic as possible. This kid was about to loose it but they didnt show that did they. No different than going to a pet shop and buying a puppy, instant dog, instant kid.
I can't even agree to anyone taking my foster puppies! Let alone a child I was fostering. God bless these foster mothers for loving these children before parents agree to take them into their lives and homes.
So sad that she is standing there with that apple. Neither parent tried to hig her or show affection. I thought this was odd. Parents were more interested in talking to the nanny. Look how sweet but scared she was. For goodness sakes try to pick her up and love on her. She is so sad standing there with no attention. I felt sorry for her. This is the first video where I have seen parents ignore wanting to love on her
Judith Ryle Maybe they wanted to give her some space and those nannies didn’t help especially the v waver, seen her in other videos doing the same thing. weird
Uh have you seen the videos where the parents hug on them or pick them up right away??? 99% of the time the kids have a meltdown. You seen baby Ava was on the verge of starting to cry when Mom was just barely holding her back from walking off with the Orphanage workers. They have all the time in the world to form attachment once everyone warms up to each other. Mama did right by giving her some space to process these new people & also by offering a choice of items that she might like & might help to comfort her. More interested in talking to the Nanny? She was finding out about her new daughter. Once they are gone they’re GONE. That’s their only chance to find out any information they can about their new child. No I don’t personally agree with the way most orphanages & agency’s in China do their adoption process, but also the adoptions are NECESSARY and NEEDED for these children.
Ava wasn’t a tiny baby who could just be handed over, she was a whole little person And the adoptive parents did right to not just grab her up and start trying to hug her etc, she wasn’t distressed she was being allowed to take it in at her own pace, the parents were probs asking the foster mother details about the child that would help the transition. In fact you can hear t he dad asking what about her food and the mum asking About diapers etc. People judge so swiftly and so harshly without stopping to think
I love to watch this videos but I’m always stunned how the caretaker acting. Talking from both sides to the kid, talking non stop to the mother so she has no chance to interact with the child. I’m so sorry for the little one. That was for sure one of the worse first meetings I have seen in a long time.
I think this is thie r guide or a social worker, I believe the women were not actually her nannies but senior staff as the gentleman sitting there is the director of an orphanage I've seen him in other posts ,
This is the coldest video I have seen. Neither mom or dad want to pick h at up and hug her. Standing there so pitiful holding the apple. Can't believe they didnt try and love on her
This is the saddest video. Most parents are so happy when they see their child, all she can do is ignore her and talk to the nanny. No hug no attention to her. I just want to hug her at least
The video they made when they got home at the airport they left her standing with all these strange people, not holding her just letting her stand alone. So cold
I can assure you she’s doing great now and she has a wonderful family and it was honestly the better move not invaded her space so she can adapt without being bombarded with people in her face. Glad you are telling somebody else how to raise their child it definitely helped especially considering this video is like 12 years old.
They were talking to her because they needed information from her and as these children are suddenly being handed to strangers and told these are your parents, most are understandably scared. It might make YOU feel better to see them hugged, but think about the child. Do you want complete strangers touching you?
Que estará pensando rodeado fé tanta gente desconocida sin saber bien donde está Mejor deris fejstlr ya con sus padres Parece k nadie se da cuenta k esta asustado y agotado
That whole stupid This is mama, dada. She doesn’t know what that means. What she needs is comfort and the so called nannies to stay the hell out of it.
gael crane ‘mama’, ‘dada’ that’s what they want her to call them.. the meaning behind it will come later. What do you expect them to do?? Introduce themselves by their first names??
TriXshots4Life do you think a child that age needs or knows or cares what they are called? A formal introduction? Do you see how young she is? She’s just standing there, alone, scared and ignored while they talk. Poor little thing!
gael crane I have 3 kids of my own. I see nothing wrong with them introducing themselves. Yes she is confused and unsure, I think your comment is unnecessary. My kids learned to call me ‘mum’ before 1 year of age. That little girl looks about 15-18mths.. possibly even 2 years old. Instead of focusing on the negative things in your view, how about looking at the fact she has a family who can give her more love and attention than what she would get in an orphanage.
TriXshots4Life this has nothing to do with you. Your children were with you since birth so of course they won’t be afraid of you. And hopefully she will have a good home, but again that’s not what we’re talking about. Have a nice day!

I find it offensive to these children when adoptive parents offer them treats as if they were dogs or another species. Seriously. If you really want to communicate then learn the child's language before you go to their perspective countries. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Tough luck! When we adopted our daughter we were told to bring them little treats as it helped them see you as friendly and kind. If you knew anything at all, you'd realize most of us do try to learn what we can prior to going, but it's an extremely difficult language with many dialects so even the few phrases we learned were difficult for most to understand. You clearly have never been in this situation or you might be more rational
It is so sweet!!! She is so Quiet. I wish you a lifetime of wonderful parenthood experiences. God Bless.
It would be nice if they stopped playing the music so you can hear what they were saying. I am so tired of the same old songs over and over. Beautiful Brave Little Girl.
I KNOW SAME HORRIBLE MUSIC !
You do realise that this is THEIR video and not just for your entertainment?

She is fabulous! She is 3 today! Adjusted beautifully! Woke up this morning in bed saying, "I"m 3! I'm 3!" She is a little treasured blessing:)
Chris Valier awww..so happy for her (and u)

She's so sweet. She's beautiful.
I'm so shocked that no one was evening giving her any affection as she looks so terrified.
Our daughter didn't want any affection from us at first. You can't force yourself in them and expect they will find it comforting
she is so beautiful! how is she doing now?
A Big Thank you and All staff in CHINA .
She is lovely, you are SO lucky.
I love the way you gave her lots of space and time. You didn't invade her personal space. I hope everything went really well for all of you.
'Time' you have a fucked up idea of time. They picked that kid up like a puppy from a petshop.
Poor child, so confused and anxious. The new parents were good to give her space when your first instinct is to be close to her.
Awww..she was soo scared. Darn. But never alone, never again
awwwee shes holding an apple
Great people who adopt these kids what a loving life they will have
Why didnt dad try and acknowledge her. Sweet little thing just standing there. Where is the affection to this sweetie
I thought the same thing so I pray they both show more emotion towards her when they get her home:(
Judith Ryle perhaps trying not to crowd her too soon with everyone else around her
How is she doing now
She is beautiful. Puzzle on what is going on. She will be fine. I wish them all the best.
