I want to know about your filter. Are you changing the filter daily? I would be afraid that it would start smelling. The ducks didn't eat the gold fish?
We so far are changing the filter every 6 days :) the fish have been staying at the bottom, we are hoping that the plants help filter the water even more :)
@@JesusLovingHomesteader I hope you take us along when you take it apart and clean it out. We have ducks. We made them 2 concrete ponds. One we put a pool pump on it and an irrigation system to water the garden.
Question, have you had any losses from chickens drowning by accident? We want to create something similar to what you've created here but we've had warning from others about that being a potential concern if we were to add ducks and a pond feature to our home.
...reckon it isn't strong enough filtration to be able to cope with duck-poop...so I expect you to change the system quite extensively in the future (maybe you already have). I'm building the same size pool at the moment and will be concentrating on a longer pathway for the water, that will be filtered through first a radial flow settler, then some reed beds and other plant-beds, then back into the pond.
We were draining the pond and cleaning the filter about once a month . The water is used as fertilizer for plants etc drained through piping. We have 6 Muscovy duck. They don’t swim as often as mallard breeds. We used to have welsh harlequin and my word they were terrible about laying eggs in the water. We chose to stick with Muscovy. I’ve been trying to get plants added, but my word they eat them all .
Wow! That looks awesome. You put a lot of thought into it. Ducks will surely love it.

How would you do the maintenance foe the algue and the greens?
A shade cloth or shady area is best. We ended up getting shade cloth. It makes a world of difference

Nope! Our chickens have done amazing! They even lead their chicks and teach them to drink! The waterfall is their favorite place
