Just as Chris was saying about how people in Japan characters switch after drinking alcohol and reveal their deepest dark secret, we now finally know what Ryotaro thinks of Chris by referring to him as 'Chris Bored'
I’m going to be honest, Ryotaro and Chris are legitimately the best duo on UA-cam. I would say Natsuki and Chris but let’s be real when natsuki is in the video, it just becomes a natsuki video not Chris video haha, he steals the whole show!
True indeed. Chris makes or lets Natsuki talk so much that he occupies whole screen timing whereas Ryotaro and Chris works as a team talking back and forth throughout the video.
What I absolutely love about Japan is, how adequately they can turn any common/prosaic/possibly uninteresting activity into celebration and art. As here, you never "just" drink water in Japan. You are uniting with universe by drinking it.
The best part is they're like brothers, messing, congratulating with each other in a positive way. Ryotaro is like the exploring younger brother and Chris is the old man.
Probably not. Ryotaro is allergic to alcohol and doesn't actually drink. He forced himself, at the behest of the brewery owner, to taste the sake at the stream so as not to be disrespectful, and immediately regretted it. This from the podcast.

Heya Chris, I just wanted to let you know I was watching UA-cam videos late at night, about to fall asleep, when this autoplayed. My eyes weren't completely in focus (as can happen when you're tired) and when I saw the abundance of red on screen combined with the music my brain filled in the rest and imagined I was looking at a horrific scene of bloody guts and suddenly I became much more awake and incredibly disturbed. A second later my eyes could make sense of what I was looking at and I became very annoyed that it was some flipping Tengu decorations that caused me such distress. So yeah, thought you would appreciate knowing that happened.
Man, Ryotaro has such a kind and fun personality. And he always tries his best to be the perfect host to Chris and show him (and us) the top best of Japan. Keep the content with him coming, Chris!

Thanks Chris, Ryotaro, Natsuki and everyone involved for making this channel informative and fun to watch :)
Oddly, I never noticed Chris was left handed until now!😄
I didn’t even notice
Thought the same thing!
I’ve been watching the channel for years now but haven’t realized Chris is left handed until now!
Disgusting isnt it?
@@EthanfromEngland- innit?*
日本人ですが毎日見てますよ!!!応援してます!
I'm watching this mainly for listening practice. I'm learning English.
It's good opportunity to realize how great our Japanese culture is.
Keep going!
Drunk Ryotaro was something I never knew I needed to see, yet here I am, enjoying every second.
Therapist: Ryotengu doesn't exist, it can't hurt you
Ryotengu: 0:18
That is my sleep paralysis demon
I almost choked on a pita chip reading this
Way too funny bruh. 😂
"As you can tell ryotaro is (slighty) drunk"
Ryotaro: wAaAh lookit dAt! 😂
You’re a nice chap Chris! Good hearted and hard working. Thank you for the great videos you’ve done over the years. You manage to communicate what Japan is like well and through your videos it shows how much you’ve loved that country and it’s culture. Keep the good work and I hope to meet you one day.
Ryotaro's taxi driver impersonation just makes it feel more like a cut-scene.
Slightly drunk Ryotaro is a national treasure. Seriously I was laughing all throughout the vid, maybe try to slightly inebriate Ryotaro first before letting him appear in a vid from now on lol.
“He’s won at life” says the guy who gets to travel all around Japan for a living 😉
-Sincerely, Someone who has to sit in an office all day
You don't have to do anything. Please realize that.
@@AmeAnimation r/thanksimcured material right there
@@paulatreides3214 Haha well I guess it's more of a reminder to myself because I often unnecessarily feel stuck.
@@AmeAnimation haha, that's fair enough! As long as you're aware of it. As empowering as these various "you can do whatever you set your mind to" messages can be, they often ignore that different circumstances play an enormous role on what a particular individual can realistically actually do. A lot of people forget that success stories like Chris's are often a result of being "in the right place, at the right time", which is outside of any individual's control.
@@AmeAnimation tbh I would rather explore
Congrats, Chris. Abroad in Japan is easily one of my most favorite channels. It's always great to see the content you make. Keep up the good work!
The more drunk Ryotaro gets the more his Japanese takes over, the more drunk Natsuki gets the more his Japanglish takes over
Man drinking from a river in the middle of the forest is a testament to Japan's respect for nature.
with a champagne glass
Didn't expect Ryotaro signing Don't Cry For Me Argentina. Congrats for 2 million subscribers and greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
"...appreciating the connection between sake and nature, by getting drunk in a forest..." this quote describes this channel perfectly, and I love it
Subtitles: *ryotaro is slightly drunk"
Ryotaro 2 seconds later: WOOOOOOAH
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Death, taxes, Chris consuming his body weight in meat. Love it.
I love how Ryotaro expresses one simple thought with thousand words
Watching your show truly makes me feel like I'm reading a super indepth book that allows me to escape my reality and just enjoy watching pure bliss of You, Natsuki, Royotaro, dr Jelly guy just having fun respectfully, and still have a plethora of educational gains about Japan and its beautiful culture.
The pork is only "heavenly". That's no way even close to "justice delicious"
Justice Delicious should be on a T-shirt
We rarely see Chris show off his Japanese, so it was really fun and motivating to see him use it for once. More Japanese from you Chris! Keep up the good work.
Waiting for the small circle on screen with Chris saying "Sugoi!" after every drink 😂
The best thing is how Ryotaro made Chrisreach 2m subs because of his 1.5m subscriptions 👍
Congrats Chris!🎉🎉🎉
Ryoto is so animated when tipsy, you need to give him drinks more often.
If I'm picking up on it correctly I think there is a reason he doesn't drink so often, so as funny as that would be I don't think it will happen.
Ryotaro only further strengthens the fact that no one will ever understand the Japanese psyche.
I genuinely enjoy everything Chris puts out!! It's always a good time, makes me feel like I'm present there with him.
