I have had this fire for nearly two years and it is truly brilliant, a real focal and talking point in the room, so realistic although i typically turn the sound off. It was a lot of money compared to others but when i saw it in a show home decided i had to have one. I did research and nothing else compares and i didn't want a gas fire because it produces heat which limits how often you can turn it on in a modern house with good insulation.

Yes, thank you,, I realize that the fireplace has no heat option. I was just wondering if some creative folks out there might have found a clever way to include a heater (not in the fireplace itself and not just by plopping a spacecheater on the floor near the fireplace.). Maybe something built in the wall or in a piece of furniture.under the fireplace. Never know what someone might have come up with.

Has anyone found a way to add heat to the Opti V electric firebox or to build in nearby heat that looks good?

naah.... quite frankly, I too would had loved for the Opti-V to serve as a true space heater as well and not just for visuals.... but apparently, we're not gonna be getting that right now.... so, if you wan't heat, Get the Dimplex Opti-Myst.... it's really the closest you can get if you wasn't a gteat visual effect as well as true heating function.
It doesn't produce heat? Time wasters. Otherwise I might have been interested in it.
it is fantastic that it has no heat from a safety point of view i am installing two in my care home and the residents are going to love it
