The music of The Bee Gees will live on for generations to come. God bless Barry Gib the eldest and sole surviving Bee Gee. Rest In Peace and Power Robin and Maurice Gib. They were and always will be a super group.
The last bro standing put out a duets album in 2020 or so. He wrote more than 1,000 songs, they and other big artists had hits with them. They started in the 60's, signed when Barry was 16, his fraternal twin bros were 13, they are not all completely done yet. Their song Staying Alive, is still used to teach cpr. He wrote songs for movies like Grease and Saturday night Fever. An aussie tv host thanked him in an interview, for wearing those tight pants when she was a teen, lots of people wanted his hairstyle too. Their albums sold list is not far behind the beatles.
"The Bee Gees" were always one of my favorite bands while I was growing up, unlike other bands, every song of theirs that I listened to I loved, no one else sang like "The Bee Gees".
Arguably the GREATEST LOVE SONG ever recorded. The harmonies, the melodies, the arrangements, EVERYTHING comes together perfectly here. I read an interview once with a road manager for Alice Cooper who said someone, as a joke, put the 'Saturday Night Fever' 8 track on the tour bus expecting a riot to follow and instead he said the bus got quieter and quieter after each song and by the end everyone was in stunned silence.. He said " You couldn't HATE IT!! the songs were THAT GOOD!".... That says it all about the power of that album at the time when die hard rockers, who despised disco, couldn't bring themselves to hate it...
Great story and it's true. Alice Cooper himself confirmed that this is a brilliant album. Most people would be surprised how musicians of various genres truly appreciate Good Music across the spectrum, unlike many music fans sadly
The Bee Gees have that unique ability to make you FEEL the song and not just hear it. Their harmonies are spot on. They have been singing together since childhood. The twins... Robin and Maurice have passed and Barry never tried to "replace" them which would have been impossible. I'm not sure if he tours anymore... but I did read that he retired. Take care.

I think what you are saying is that we had "Music" back in the 60's through the 90's. It was destroyed and lost, over time, and may never exist again. Thank god for people like you who go back in time, figuratively speaking, and recover these lost jewels from history. Bravo!
Man, this song transports me back to the late 70s when I was a kid. I wasn't allowed to watch Saturday Night Fever, but this music was everywhere back then. Funny that this and AC/DC emerged at the same time out of Australia/UK. Reminds me of Star Wars, Space Dust, the original SNL, Baseball and polyester jumpsuits😂

All 3 Gibbs brothers could have had their own career as a singer and done rather well. But the concept of staying together as a group just skyrocketed them to a level that is rarely reached. I just saw two beautiful dancers/married couple dance to this song. Gave me the feeling of I’m missing love in my life. It’s sad but it gave me chills at same time…
Biscutte, the reason you feel more attached to this song than newer ones is because you are what is known as "an old soul". Meaning just what you said, the songs have more meaning and heartfelt music to them. The BeeGees had great disco songs and love ballads. They were a very unique group and their music will never die as long as people like you help keep it alive. Loved your reaction.👍👍
They are one of the most underrated bands in history. Those three voices together are a type of musical instrument that NO other band has ever had. Love to Barry! You need to do an 'Australian Week' - INXS, Bee Gees, ACDC, Cold Chisel, Powderfinger - you would love it.
they weren't underrated. During the late 60s and 70s they almost were the music industry. In the 80s they did more writing for others than themselves. Their style of music went out of fashion but when the boy bands came into vogue with multi part harmonies etc making a big return to pop music suddenly the Bee Gees became talked about again and they had a big resurgence in popularity.
There's a fourth Gibb brother who had done a solo career, although the Bee Gees had also provided backing-vocals on many of his songs: Andy Gibb.
