I loveeee to see the older model in the marketing campaign for that foundation, representation is so important! I also like to seek out makeup that looks good on mature skin because I have such dry skin that anything even remotely matte will look (and FEEL) like cracking cement on my poor face.
I wish companies would show more real people of all races, genders, ages, etc. I think the industry has women terrified of aging. If we're lucky enough, it happens. We will look different over time. Despite vitamin C, tretinoin, gadgets, fillers, (wear sunscreen to prevent cancer), taking calcium, exercise, eating well, our bones - even our face bones - do change as we age. It's OK. We will look different. It's OK. Something to embrace.
Sorry for the diatribe! Not about you, Kelly, but my own funny bone. This palette is not really my vibe, but you created a beautiful look with it!
Watching you use this palette made me so nervous. It was like when your bestie tells you they have a date with the guy that you've heard is kind of a jerk. You stay up all night wondering how the date went, and you sincerely hope that the rumors are wrong and he treated her ok lol. The look did turn out beautiful, though...🖤 Also, i like the spikeys in your bun.

If you start on the outer corner with the darker shades and a packing brush, they will show up better, then you can blend the edges with the lighter shades. No more patchiness 😉

I happen to like sheer eyeshadow formulas. I like the recent palettes that have been slammed on You Tube. I wear these for my everyday looks. When I want glam, I pull for other palettes. I like having both styles in my collection. Thanks for the lovely review, Kelly.

About the hair situation, definitely recommend got 2 b glued gel or just general edge gel when trying to slick back hair or also just keeping baby hairs uniform when your hair is down

I love the look Kelly. And, I actually consider green eyeshadow neutral.
I used to agonize over my brows trying to outline them just right and drawing in the hair strokes. They always turned out terrible. I switched over to just lightly coloring in my natural brow shape and brushing it out like you did and it was the best decision. It takes a fraction of the time and looks ten times better. That Burt's Bees Illuminizer is gorgeous. I need to get my hands on it.
I was so happy you liked The Ordinary Serum foundation 🥺 because it’s such a great semi-matt/satin foundation for dry skin and not many people talk about it. I hope it didn’t cause the breakout on you. Hidden gem IMO. I bought it because it was 6€ and I was 5€ from free shipping. Best thing I bought because I wasn’t willing to pay the shipping 😂😂

Speaking of having a mature woman in their ad: I’m happy to see someone that is a mature woman that is NOT a celebrity. They all have work done so I feel that’s not an accurate representation. Or, if they have not had work done, it’s hard for me not to assume they have. Ya know? So this is a person, your average mature woman. To me.

Re the Ordinary fdn. I see that Coconut is the third ingredient. A couple of dermatologists have said that the coconut molecule is smaller than other oils so goes deeper into our skin, and can stay there even tho we think we have thoroughly cleaned the skin as usual.
U could be leaving the coconut oil a layer or 2 deeper into ur pores.
Ergo, the coc oil debris/bumps from the serum rise to become the top layer as the older skin cells wash off.
Solution:
I heard Angelica Nyqvist recommend using eye primer on the patchy area of the eye and reapply shadow.

I'm enjoying the Wild Greens palette, and the mascara too. I find it to be a drier formula. What do you think of the LYS concealer compared to the Kosas?
It’s a slightly different texture than the Kosas but I want to keep testing it out more!
I think the concealer shade is a match for you, doesn't look too dark at all
I think the Wild Greens palette packaging is really pretty, but I don't like that there can sometimes be a gap between the flaps in the front. The flaps fold all the way back super easily, so you can just hold them under your hand while holding the palette and they won't be annoying

I actually started doing my brows like Kylie Jenner again and I’ve been getting so many compliments on my brows it’s crazy! The way you can “clean” your brow with a concealer and make it look so perfect is seriously such a good technique, no matter if you like Kylie or not. She was the pioneer of doing brows this way. Whenever I do my brows more naturally, it never looks as good. 😃

I can’t do bangs either! I have multiple cowlicks in the front so they don’t lay flat and they separate 😫
Hey Kelly! I'm also a cruelty free shopper and I struggle the most in finding CF perfumes and deodorants. Do you have any brand recommendations? 🤗❤
For the longest time I didn't get bangs because I have a cowlick too .. But I finally just did it. Sometimes if I sleep funny or the wind gusts, then it will temporarily look kinda funny, but most of the time it's just fine lol actually love my bangs! I like to do short or mini bangs.. Fits my overall style. Super easy too. Just blow dry for 30 secs after washing 1-2x's a week. Only need flat iron if I had to sleep with an ice pack for a migraine... Don't even use any other product (well accept for a little dry shampoo in between washes). Had 'em for about a decade now (I also trim/cut my own bangs and hair.)

I have several cowlicks lol two right at the corners of my hairline. If my bangs aren’t thicker and a certain length they just fling themselves right up lol

I remember the Sigma E06 recommended in beauty UA-cam videos when I first started watching and I eventually bought it and loved it for gel liner. I haven’t used it in a while though!

The Ordinary serum foundation has coconut oil derivatives. That may be what is breaking people out. 😣

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the urban decay palette. I feel like there was so much potential for something really cool but maybe for the person who doesnt wear color this is a good palette!
The reviews on that palette are so bad, but the looks I keep seeing are so pretty and I still want it!

So I have a cowlick in the front of my hair on the hairline and I used to have bangs. I loved how my bangs looked, but I literally had to tame them with a blow dryer every single day and I just got over it really fast. So it is possible, but it can be a hassle.
yes it also bothers me when the name of something doesn’t correspond to the thing in real life… for example the tarte maracuja juicy lip tastes like pop corn/creamy coconut, BUT the shade name I own is “grapefruit “😵💫😅 i always expect the flavour is citrusy when i put it on

I got cowlicks. Ugh!!! 🙄😉🙄 Right in the front and also have bangs. Too short they stick up. Too long and they do their cowlicky thing. So there is a definite sweet spot. 😉🤣😉 I always have bangs!!!!
