My dryer stopped heating and the timer would never turn off...went to bed around 11 with a load in the dryer, woke up around 7 am and it was still going but it was cold air....took it all apart tested everything and the leg on the timer the far right one (labeled H) I couldn't get continuity but the other ones I did. Everything else tested good so I ordered a timer so hopefully that saved me some money thank you for the lesson!
Test the thermalfuse and thermal cutoff switch for continuity as well if you haven't already, usually when they go itll turn on and run but not get hot.

I replaced high limit and the bottom thermal fuse and also replaced the dryer and cycling thermostat … I cleaned the entire dryer and still no heat… any ideas?
This is one of my retail customers. They do Rent to own so lots of what you see i saved from scrap units that were not worth the repair costs. Ill always recommend weather its better to fix or scrap i may lose a dollar but keep a customer.

This was a customers dryer, but when you take you old one out it will be on it. Should start with a W. WPW10185982 there's a chance its this but double check, it will be on your old one.
When your looking at you current part it should have P/N on it somewhere if it whirlpool the part number starts with a W. I ordered this one on Amazon was about 20 bucks.
That stupid clip on the timer at about 10 o clock is giving me fits. The metal retaining clips i got them from the underside easily they did NOT want to pop out with a flathead
I'll see if I can get a part number for you tomorrow but its also on your old one it should start with a W. Yes they got them on Amazon for a good price.

Link must have changed. One sec your part number will be W10857612 you can find name brand on www.encompass.com or get a cheap off brand on Amazon. The off brands are not bad but for 105 usd you can get whirlpool brand itll last years
I cannot remove my timer out from the dryer it is a similar type of dryer model as the one in the video.I tried different tools but I cannot remove it.
Needle nose pliers pinch the tabs in and wiggle it off. Take knob off the front and double check if your model has screw holding it to front panel as well.

I would literally pay you to come replace my timer but you probably don’t live near me I live 50 miles from Redding California I literally need help like I need the part number like please write me back please please please write me back I need the part number to that dryer you’re fixing in this video is the same dryer same exact dryer I cannot even believe this so it must be a thing with the Amana dryer that the timer goes out because mine will not advance either so obviously the timer needs to be replaced I bought mine in 2019 from Best Buy it had the original warranty plus I bought five year warranty on it please somebody answer my messages

It really seems to HELP doing this repair at a parts supply store. I’d be cussing the wrong part out.

Set it to 10 mins come back in 15 if its still running timer is definitely bad, but it does sound like that is the issue

Sounds like a few contacts inside timer has failed. Replace timer and you'll be back in business.

My timer stayed stuck on 60 min from start and was still putting out heat. Where or who do I order the part from ?

Use needle nose pliers squeeze tabs in. Makes it alot easier, hope that helps.

If its a mechanical timer yes that can cause it to run forever until you stop it. Which is what this customer said was their issue.
