Good thought, thanks for sharing
What's the difference between a cash account and margin account on webull??
Hi I’m interested in margin account
How do I calculate webull margin interest ?
For example i borrow $5000 margin i short and stock and make $200
So do i pay interest in $5000 i borrow or $200 i make ?
And do i pay margin interest yearly ? How do i keep track cause I don’t wanna end up paying out too much.
Thanks for vid, you forgot to talk about the 2.50 rule tho.
"The $2.50 rule applies when you are short selling stocks that are priced under $2.50. Basically, the rule states that for every share you are short, you still need to put up $2.50 of capital, even if the stock is priced lower"
So, if a stock is 2.49 or under and someone buys 10 shares, they will need $25 to short that stock. 2.50x10=25.
Most of that people will learn through trial and error.
How to check for short availability?
Thank you
if i short sell stocks like Nio 10 share at the price 50 per share
Then i want to buy back at 40
i set up buy at 40 for 10 share
But stocks go sideway around 45-46 for a weeks
How long do i have time to buy back to broker ?
Can be more than one month or longer?
And do i have to pay the fee to broker, if i take long time to buy back to them.
Thank you so much..
Thanks for the comment, maybe check out my stock course Trade Alerts Pro... its the first link in the description.
I don't understand why you start with selling. How can you sell if you don't have these stocks in the first place? I understand your profit but shouldn't you start by buying? Obviously Im missing something here so can anyone explain that part to me?
Thanks
x 2 !!!
Its based on marginal trading, so you are "borrowing" the shares. So, to short a stock you must sell it first, then buy it back at a later time.
Youre banking on the stock falling in price.
hello @woerthmore investing does we bull let you short any stock?
How many days do you have to cover?
As many as you choose to hold the trade
Do you still short on Webull? Do you recommend it? Any pros and cons?
Yes, absolutely short stocks all of the time
So when shorting, am I setting a price limit at a higher price ? And when I’m buying back the shares, how do I know what to put and why would it be lower? Sorry new to trading. Thanks

Think I understand it just have two questions. 1. So when you buy back do that mean the order is complete? 2. Do it count as a day trade doing sell buy? My bad coming from rh never dont shorting but seems like the bigger gains are over here
So, to short, you already have to own the stock? So, when you sell it, that’s your profit. Buying it back, just means you bought it back at a cheaper price, it’s not a profit.
You "sell" the stock, borrowing it from the broker on margin... when you "buy" you're covering your position, therefore redeeming gains.
I have $25 to invest in stocks. What should I do with it?
Build a watchlist of some stocks you are interested in, then invest in a few
Need help is webull trust worthy I bought calls and puts to cover them previous to that I owned 76 shares of NIO I bought 2 contracts 200... They webull are saying that I shorted them I have -124 shares which they say webull I shorted them
Sounds like you have a mess my man
@@adad05 I just want to understand the mess and learn from it....where are my 76 shares at that's it tell me!
It sounds like you sold call options, instead of buy them. I'd have to look at your portfolio & review your trading history to know for sure though...
@@adad05 then yes I can will let you look at my port please I need advice I bought2 call options plus I already had owned 76 shares of the stock now am -124 and my 76shares are gone.....860....999...2849 text call email me thermowet13@gmail...your choice
This may take some time to work through, very busy with paying students & content right now. Perhaps check out Trade Alerts Pro: bit.ly/2moWcNz
I am not the first person to suggest that these accounts are not marginal. They may be margin account or imaginable but not marginal. Is this rest of this vid as accurate?
Not sure what you are asking me
So what happens now when you Buy it back after the drop? Do you sell it right away at the Buy back price?
Charles D no, when you buy it back that’s when you’ll be taking profits.
@@adad05 got it. Thanks! Great videos btw!
Glad you enjoyed
@@adad05 so you take profits when the price goes up. so if the stock market plunges you decided to "short" 10 shares of QQQ @$179 (betting that this stock will continue to drop in price) for $1,790 then you also bought 10 shares of the exact stock at $169 or lower for $1,690 =$100 profit... (bought low sell high for profit); correct?
I like how you get right to the point. I was just wondering if you have a video on short selling with stop limit
Yes, you can use limit orders to cover.
Sell->buy->sell?
Is that how you do it?
Yeah, thats the idea
Buttery Skater is that flipping stocks ?
the part that discouraged me from keep watching is you mentioned i have to have a margin account. i have a cash account and i dont want to have a margin account. is the rule different form someone with a cash account?
If you don't want to trade on margin, just use options to trade.
Thank you
Very welcome
@@apologies40 this is smart
So how do you short. I know how to buy
I explain all of that in the video
@@adad05 thanks man 👨
Is webull good for selling shorts? I have read a few reviews of some people having issues shorting.
Armah Akporowho I think it’s a great platform for shorting stocks. I use it everyday
Hey If I buy call options and hit my strike price befor the expirations date can I by the shares and sell it even b4 the expire date
What is "body"?
doesn't work for me,says " you do not have have no positions to sell for this security"
Yeah, some shares not available to short.
Man if they allowed shorts on paper trades people would learn much better and see the potential high risk.
But
Then again
Webull probably banks on certain # of members to screw up for their gain.
You can short stocks on paper trading.
@@adad05 just figured it out im a little retarded thanks
So do you sell in high and buy in low?
WoerthMore Investing I’m trying to learn but thanks I will check it out now.
@@thespanishbull7955 Yes, sell when high (after a spike) and buy in low (when it drops)
So when i buy the shares back after shorting are they in my portfolio or do they vanish?
No, you will be responsible for buying them back...
WoerthMore Investing okay thank you for your help
@@adad05 so when shorting, you sell first which means you're loaned shares at a certain price which are immediately sold, you yhen have X amount of dollars..when you buy at a lower price do those shares automatically get returned to the entity who loaned them to you? And you keep the difference as profit?
Any books you recommend on day trading?
Yes, open my description box I have several books I recommend.
Aren't there any commission or broker fees for shorting?
You'll have to pay marginal interest, but no trade fees
Can I cancel my short on webull and if yes how? Thanks.
Send the company a message, I'm not sure how
i have a short option by buy and sell. how do i use that
For help with options and further stock market education, check out my course on Teachable: bit.ly/2moWcNz
Is this pretty much the same way you do it using etrade?
Also my bad have one more question? Say yu get caught shorting in the price go up and now you down -30% on ya profit no way to avg down/up from shorting?
Bud, please don't try to short anything at all. Unless you have mastered a couple setups to the long side and are already consistently PROFITABLE. not trying to be a butt. Just don't want newbies to blow up there account. Long side first, master setups, consistently, then think about going short or branch out to what ever you want.
when you are setting up the options trading for the first time. It asked what type of options investment I would like. Out of speculation, growth, income, and capital preservation. I was wondering if you could explain the different a little? I would like to make some profit but not be too risky. I am new to all this. so, baby steps for me lol
Best of luck!
I want to sell stocks on we bull but it says short/sell will I lose money or will it be same? Or will it take 6.99% of my profit or 6.99 of share?
I dont understand the question
@@adad05 and thanks for replying 👊
Wait on your reply thanks
What if you only place the sell order?
You'll have to wait for the price to be met....
I love this guy just the video I need.
Glad it could help, thank you.
Thank you a lot man. Just what I needed.
Glad I could help
Hi bro great video. I got a new spec today. (RDDTTF) Radient, they are like Valens. They already have ACB as a customer. I hope they make me as much as Valens.
Did you just do a debit spread?
Nope
So you basically sell 10 shares of QQQ that you don’t have in order to go short?...how does that look in the “my position” tab before you close the short out by buying (returning?) the shares to WeBull? What about fees for borrowing the shares? Feel like there’s no way it’s that simple lol
@@adad05 Thanks for replying! I tried it out in the "paper account" today and did really well. If you don't mind could you break down the costs of doing this? Is shorting free? Or does WeBull charge interest or fees? Day shorts free, multi-day shorts have the fees? Thanks in advance, you're the real mvp.
Hey body I just start using Webull where do I see my pdt Is lik Robinhood it shows how many I used out of the 3 I’m allowed
PDT count is in your account summary.
Hi can I hold the short selling stock for long time like 1 day or 1 week on Webull app
You can hold stocks short as long as you'd like
Do u know how much they charge fir the interest
Here is some material you can start with: www.webull.com/pricing
If I want to short a stock on webull, when i select TP and Stop loss, it looks like TP price is the automatic price it'll buy back the shares? So would I need to place a buy order if I use it?
I don’t completely understand the question.
What do you do if it says “ you have no positions to sell for this security
You won't be able to short that stock, no equities available to short.
Set up a margin account and make sure you have a margin account. Then you need at least 2000 dollars in your Webull account deposited.
@@kevinsingh8035 after having those 2 things will I be able to short sell any penny stock in pre market for example?
@@kevinsingh8035 or just simply short sell any stock I want if I have a margin account and over 2k
@@BoyGenius999 I believe so I am not too familiar with Webull as I use TD Ameritrade, but I am 70 percent sure you can.
Can you teach me how to use leverage in webull?
Yes, I have experience with leverage
. Smh your talking as if people know how to trade and all the rules 90 percent don’t know that in the first place and you can short in a cash account just look under quotes and go down to the bottom if that stock ticker has a short for the day you can buy it with the purple button buy and sell in same day and you incur no fees.
Thank you very much good video 👍🙏
Okay cool I can't afford a marginal account...but if put in 100 buck's will there be any stock's cheap ENOUGH for me.to short one stock or BUY...THANKS
Excellent video!

How many trades can you do a day?
You can complete 3 day trades inside a 1 week window.
