Mine is a kitten so she has a lot of energy, still when she is sleepy she loves to be spoiled with cuddles and petting. She also lets me shake her paw when we play, and generally touch the soft part of her paws. The funniest thing is that, she has learned ti give nose kisses, so when she wants cuddles and i am distracted with the phone or a book, tv, etc, she walks up to my face and puts her nose against mine like saying " hey, leave what you are doing and pay me attention"

Don't give baths to cats other than medical indicated. ;-) That's why it is complaining always.
And for the rest: It is all about compassion, bonding, deep understanding, trust. Don't rush on that point. And never, never give any negative feeling. Cat's feel what you feel. I mean, they can read your mind. They sense your energy (are you upset, chilly focussed and such) and your intention. So be clear and selfconscious. Learn from their ability to reflect your emotions and thoughts. Talk to them (not like children's playground you know), keep them always with you. They are companions. Sure they are allowed to say no (and this is what they really need to be sure about), say "I leave now" and be sure, you are always there to welcome them back. Cat love is unconditious.
