And I had no idea that a rig could be placed on the teleprompter. I was like 😳😲. That proves how sturdy it is. Thanks again for such an informative video.
Hi there! Great breakdown and great video, thanks. I'm thinking about getting Elgato Prompter but worried it's a wee bit too small for my project - mostly I'll be standing 3 to 6 feet from camera and shooting long form content - do you think a bigger setup like the ILOKNZE would bet better for that sort of thing?
@@steveperry4243 it really depends on your use case. With Elgato you’ll have to be constantly tethered to a computer, since it is an all in one unit. Size for reading it 3-6 feet away should be fine, since you can always increase the font size. With Iloknzi and other prompters which are just a mirror, you’ll have to get a separate tablet, and also find a proper app and remote solution, which can be quite challenging as I have found out, but I have a video in the works about it coming soon. Also you should check out SmallRig teleprompter, I have a video about it and I prefer it over Iloknzi.
@@ryt-is Right on! Excellent feedback, thanks a ton. I was looking at the Neewer x16 with an iPad. That has a nice-looking remote, but I guess that's probably just for the neewer app, so only useful if I like that app. That solution, however, is quite a bit pricier than Elgato b/c of iPad purchase, as you mentioned above. Elgato wins there....but I also don't want to save money just for the sake of saving money if it's not suitable for my intended purpose....Anyway, I'll check out your smallrig video now and I'm very much looking toward to the new video you mentioned
@@steveperry4243 in my experience most teleprompter remotes work only in their own apps, and those apps are very hit and miss. There is a good teleprompter app which seems to support most of the 3rd party remotes, but it’s subscription based and very expensive, so I’m not using it. Also if you’re looking to buy an iPad explicitly for teleprompter, go for a smaller model, it is plenty big, you’ll save a buck, and it will actually be easier to handle. Also don’t forget the used market, you can find some great deals on used tech
I have this, but I use my Lenovo 2 in 1 laptop. I don't use the app for the teleprompter though. I use Teleprompter Mirror (app/web app & the remote wont work with it, but I use the audio version of TM so it scrolls as I speak).
Thank you so much this helped a great deal!

Super glue can fix the velcro as long as its rated for metal. Otherwise you could use a 2 part epoxy (one rated for metal of course).

@@ryt-is cool, I was planning on 10th gen iPad. Total cost of both setups is about $340 more for the iPad + bigger teleprompter compared to Elgato

I eventually ended up using the Iloknzi Teleprompter app. It is not too bad for the rare occasions when I need it.
