      I do not agree, they look like a punching ball, I prefer the B&M Line 60 for example.

    Hey Jay, these are my favourite speakers of the exhibition so far. I'll be back tomorrow for the final day. But the highlight of my day was meeting you and of course our photograph together, thanks for that.
    Back to the MBLs, the biggest acoustic characteristic that jumped out at me was that complete lack of boxiness that you get from traditional speakers, the transparency was phenomenal and the image depth was exceptional too in this setup, albeit at a very high price point, but fantastic for a mere mortal to experience.
    Have a safe trip home and looking forward to your summary of the Munich High End.
    Cheers

    Most people wouldn’t recognise those as loud speakers at first sight. Just extraordinary.

    Not pushing my buttons. There is still the tipped up spectral balance that I always here with this set up. Imo, it's the amps that contribute to this more than anything else. They are not the most organically smooth amps. Imo, they have been surpassed by the likes of Boulder, Block, Plinium, etc.

    The principle is that of a nelon rind cut into segments and held togerher at both ends. One end is fixed and the other moves up and down. The propagation is uniform 360 degrees horizontally, somewhat less vertically. Like all multidirectoonal loudspeakers it depends on room reflecrions and placement to create its special effect. In the front half of the room you can have reflectors and diffusers but not absorbers. Irregular surfaces created by furniture improves diffusion. Planar waves from the side walls are less desirable than waves that are broken up by irregular surfaces.

    They sound rather bright, as MBLs have in every demo I've ever heard.

    • @degou3438
      @degou3438 10 місяців тому

      bright? they sound very transparent but very, VERY far from bright, in fact they are very musical and immersive, the source you are listening to should probably have peaks and greater activity in the treble

    • @VideoArchiveGuy
      @VideoArchiveGuy 10 місяців тому

      @@degou3438 No, they are painfully bright, especially in person.

      @@VideoArchiveGuy wow, I read practically all the reviews of these speakers on the internet and you are literally the ONLY one who said that, everyone else said the opposite, that it is never tiring and it is always musical, but there is one detail, this system is extremely complex and requires a level of adjustment with MBL professionals that can take 1 week, they probably didn't know about it and just installed the system, in addition they probably also left the treble on “fast” in the configuration behind one of the main towers, which has 3 treble levels is the most present.

    • @VideoArchiveGuy
      @VideoArchiveGuy 10 місяців тому

      @@degou3438 It's likely setup is a factor, I can only go off of what I've heard at shows and in the video above.

    Insanity. Just hire a string quartet, jazz combo, or singer songwriter to come to your house weekly. Put the remaining $200k in prudent investment.
