They are going by gross net instead of net income so your child can’t get quality , it’s like they want you to struggle for them to help you , basically living in the street and work for little and nothing if you bring home
I make $1248 A month I’m Social Security I was told I make $30 a month too much to qualify for Medicaid. I am in Texas Il don’t have a car or a house or a retirement plan or any stocks and bonds or any other assets 1:41
Same here , that last SS raise , bumped me off by 30.00 also. What did you do. They don't count Rent/ utilities, I have nothing left to live on. I still see my oncologist for cancer in remission , but I have to pay 20% for my tests. I think they want us to die.
It is at the Federal Poverty Limit, which was last adjusted in forever. So, it now requires you to be homeless, capped at about $1,200. 😢 I get $2,197 disability, and didn't even qualify for food, plus wrongfully lost Medicaid when I was homeless in a motel that was $2,000/month. 😢 I then got MRSA and nearly died with zero Medicaid. I was not SUPPOSED to be responsible for the ER bills, but was stuck with nearly $10,000 while going hungry. So yeah-I hear you guys. It's miserable. 😞💔
Yup my family just got disqualified somehow only $67 over and I am on long term maintenance medications and appointments weekly with a 2yr old son. My husband is a Line cook we can barely pay our rent most months, are drowning in debt, our car has is even expired two yrs now for goodness sake because I literally don't have the money. I was told I had to go to the stupid Healthcare marketplace site to buy insurance now, with 16 bucks in the bank for the next week and then the whole paycheck goes to rent anyways. But how the f is someone who can't afford basic living supposed to afford what's supposedly "sliding scale on income " insurance off the marketplace when I just looked it was starting at $860+ for catastrophic plans and over a grand a month for the crappiest plans with ridiculous deductibles etc. Like wtf. How in world am I supposed to survive, how is my child? Why is it that in order to get the assistance that I spent decades paying taxes towards id have to apparently not make enough money to be even more screwed than I already am, so homeless with a toddler living in an expired sedan?! What kind of nonsense is that. But of course there isn't any assistance available here for childcare. And I'm medically unable to work anyways so it would make no sense to try to work and kill myself doing so, to barely be able to pay for childcare in order to do so. I'd love for someone to explain how the hell that's supposed to work? Because I am not seeing any way out of this disaster I've kept us afloat this long but now I fear we are legit sinking and fast. If anyone has any positive outcome stories/experiences, and/or helpful suggestions etc. Please, I'd be grateful. Because my brain literally can't seem to handle trying to figure it all out. >
@olyasorokina3780 sadly that's not correct. They don't care about any of my expenses especially my insurance premiums? Unless you're getting it taken out of your paycheck but then they'll require you just get health insurance from them too? @@olyasorokina3780
I have a question if someone is on social security disability and make 1.100 a month and is on Medicaid and want to work part time what is the income that can do for work and still keep Medicaid
Look up Social Security's Ticket To Work program. It is two things: You make "gainful" income, (I think it is up to $1,400 now?) and if you work more than six months regardless of that income. So, if you make $850 for seven months, you lose benefits. If you make one cent above their maximum during those six months, you lose benefits. They WANT you to work, but DON'T, per usual! 😂 I work for 6 months and quit every few years. 😂 NOT intentional though-my brain and body don't tolerate longer than that. It's like I melt at month 5 every single time. America requires workers to be FAST. Most people with disabilities are only able to keep that fast pace for a few months. People CONSTANTLY b*tch I'm too slow. VERY common complaint!
I'm not licensed to practice in New Mexico and each state has its own rules when implementing this federal program. A New Mexico based elder law attorney could advise you.

Yup. Its a joke. and all the homeless that are drugs get more help and benefits.
We must be homeless, yes. 😞
Exactly, everything is more expensive but there income guidelines don’t change 😡😡
Very nice explanation. Very helpful. Thank you.
Is that $2,313 including children?
My understanding is Social Security income and pension income are not allowed to be put in a trust which includes QIT or Miller Trust.

Insurance premiums are exempt income. So just go buy a $35/month dental insurance and you are back in business.
