Would you want to set the queue points for the build the same distance away from the drop on each song? Some builds on songs are longer/shorter than the one you’re trying to align the drop with.
Most builds are four bars...so if the build is longer just find the last four of the build and line it up...

what about if the tracks are big bpm diff?
You can always use your tempo sliders. I have a ddj rb so mine are on the top right of the jogwheels. His are bottom right.

My ten year old wants to make music and I would love to get him started. Is there a real basic setup that a younger DJ could learn the basic concepts?

Why not use the crossfader instead?
That’s what I use there’s no good reason not to I’m sure someone will disagree
Some people use it, but I find I moves so easily, it’s so easy to bump it, so I just disable it most of the time. It’s purely personal preference.
