Great job on your first video! I just bought a 2020 950M 72” cut yesterday and should receive it tomorrow. I’m looking forward to cutting my mowing time way down. This will be my first zero turn mower and I’m just as proud as you sound in your video.
Awesome on getting the mower! Thanks for watching the video. I will be curious how your mower does with the 72” deck. I can tell you for sure that the 27 Kawasaki will have plenty of power for that deck.
Congrats on the new mower! Doubt you'll ever be disappointed with it. Been running these Deere Z's for a long time now. Just bought a 960M 2 weeks ago. There is definitely no balance issues due to the one-sided tank. People love to just make shit up.
Have one that is 2013. Has 3500 + hours. Have had no issues with it except the PTO switch. They have since changed them. The motor is super easy to maintenance everything is accessible. Have had the turf tiger and turf tracer. John Deere is very good mower and cheaper. Have a good day and enjoy your great mower.
Freeman Lawncare I’ve ran both and both have pros and cons over the other. The biggest I’ve noticed is that the scag stripes better, my Deere don’t have a kit on it. However the Deere rides way better than the scag and throws grass better.
Nice job on your first video! I have the Z950R with tweels to mow at my house. The tweels load up with grass when the grass is wetter like in the spring. Then it drops off in the yard and makes a mess or worse yet on the drive or the garage. They are also starting to wear the turf down around the boundaries of the property. Have to stay off the sidewalks, cause they grind the grass in to the concrete and it won't blow off with the blower. But still like them. Great ride plus, we had some roofing done and it picked up a big nail but of course, no flat tire!
Lorin Phillips I have noticed when wet the grass does build up in the treads a lot. But I do still like them mostly due to the fact that I don’t have to worry about flats!
John Deere mowers are awesome. I have a 2011 Z930A with a MOD deck that I have had zero issues with. Haters will hate. Just like with tools. Snap-On sets the standard, and then the hate comes. Haters gonna hate!
I like the twills on my z950. One issue I have is the plastic cover over front wheel bearing. I have had to replace them after them falling off and running over them. They have since made a major change to that part.
Great video j I just picked up a new 2020 z955 efi today put about an hour on it this afternoon. That seat is awesome, I did MOD deck seems to do ok cant wait to get a few more hours on it. I am coming from a older exmark lazer z an the deere is way more free feeling.
Jason Townsend I wished I could have got the MOD deck but with this one I couldn’t. Plenty of good after market ones though. I’ve got roughly 15 on mine now and absolutely no complaints! And yes that seat is worth everything you pay for.
Wanted the EFI myself but the better discount was on the standard carb. Boy, it sure sucks the fuel. If gas weren't so cheap and I had more to mow I'd be wishing for the EFI.
I have a new Z930R with standard factory installed high lift blades. What blade would you recommend that will provide smaller clippings while still side discharging? Thank you!
If you want the smaller clipping check out some mulching blades. I actually use the Ballard inc x blade system. It allows you to use a high lift blades and mulching blades at the same time. Works really well!
How does the overall build quality and ruggedness compared to Scag? I currently have a 03 SCAG Tiger Cub. I was considering an upgrade to iether a Tiger Cat 2 or a JD. Definitely commercial grade though.
It’s very well built, I’ve put a ton of hours on SCAG tiger Cubs and Tiger Cat. I would compare the JDZ950 to the Turf Tiger series. I put right 200 hours on it this year using it commercially. Absolutely no issues, very smooth cuts anything. The only thing it doesn’t do as well as a SCAG is stripping the lawn, mine doesn’t have the kit for it.
@@nunleylawncare1683 I am not sure what model JD compares to the Tiger Cat? I know I need to stay under a 52 or 54 inch deck but want a heavy duty commercial unit that will last a long time. Love my SCAG but I recently purchased a JD compact tractor and I do like it so I am giving JD a serious look.
Yea that’s not bad hours, it would depend on how what type of shape it’s in but if it’s been taken care of I would say anywhere from 5-8 thousand, jus depending on how well it’s been taken care of.
Hard to understand how john deere gets away with cheaping out on their high end mowers. A mower in this category should have a hydraulic deck, or at least and electric one.
The “M” designation after the model number will indicate a manual lift while the “R” designation after the model number indicates it’s equipped with a power lift. You also get a PTO shut off button on the right motion control lever on the “R” models. I personally don’t mind the manual deck system and figure that is also one less feature possibly requiring repair in the future.
I been running with my Z830A 13 years now, and still running strong . You will have that beast for years to come. Great job on the video!!

Tides I’ve definitely noticed people just want to make stuff up to complain about. I’m very impressed with it so far.

Eugene O'Dell I was between the Deere or the Turf Tiger. So far very happy with the decision I made.
You think deere out cuts scag?

Looked at a 930 with tweels at Trigreen Hendersonville last week. They're nice but I can't get over the prices. You got a good deal on yours.
Yes I got lucky when I found mine. They are pricey machines but I think we’ll worth it if that’s what your looking for.

Nice well I ordered one Friday and still waiting on it to get delivered

I bought two of these love the Z950m . Great Zero turns .
I put right at 200 hours on mine this year, no issues at all still cutting great!
Good video bro
Are you happy you went with the Tweels? Any complaints?
Yes absolutely love them, have around 430 hours on them now and no complaints at all!

@@bradbruggeman6745 I would maybe a Z915, you can get those in a 48 or 52 inch cut
Nice video looking at getting one myself
What hp is your motor. Also what was the cost out of the door? I'm buying a used one today same setup as yours with 56 hours for 8500
Josh Maddox mine is the 27 HP, out the door was a little over 10,000
Is 850 hours for a 2016 z950m allot? And how much do you think it’s worth?
Yea that’s not bad hours, it would depend on how what type of shape it’s in but if it’s been taken care of I would say anywhere from 5-8 thousand, jus depending on how well it’s been taken care of.
What size Tweels
I have a z930m with the 54” deck. I think the mower is a little under powered.
What was the price?
9500
Those scalp wheel brackets should have been welded on the inside too instead of tacked then welded on the outside
great mower but definitely not the smoothest riding. wright toro ferris exmark has it beat there but very tough mower
You don't think it is super smooth with the suspension seat?
no I just changed the castor wheels to bigger 15 6 6 8 ply and that helped alot

From my understanding. Tweels are supposed to last through two rear tire changes.
ABetterLife.Inc for what you pay for them they should last that long if not longer.
I can barely hear you with my sound wide open
