Great video. I’ve been doing classes for seniors with minimum health problems 15 years. Occasionally, I’ve worked one on one with health impediments but at the senior community I’m currently working at, I’ve been asked to cover for a therapist who all of the sudden left and who left behind two people long term victims of stroke. I’ll follow your techniques to help them out in their desire to move without the help of a motorized chair. I wish you all the best and thank you for the video.😊
Hi Lydia and Marcus! I literally cried when I saw you in the pool. I’m not sure when this all took place but I started a month ago doing pool therapy and I have noticed significant changes. Of course I live in florida and my condo has a pool so that’s a plus. Keep up the good work you are both doing amazing. God bless you!🌺
How much has pool therapy has helped you how could we connect with you about your recovery journey love please let me know I'm a stroke survivor with the same type of stroke thank you for the video love and hugs Musong kim
You are doing an amazing job. My husband is also affected on his right side. We recently discovered a warm water pool in our area and some of these exercises we will add to our routine. Keep up the good work. With a good support system, your progress will be GREAT. God bless you.
I'm a stroke survivor, I got my stroke on the 15th of March 2019. I'm having my physio at home too due to covid-19 pandemic season. I have difficulty in my right side of my body. At times I get so frustrated but bcoz I love life, I just learn to deal with it. I got my stroke in UK. I was there for a holiday. And unfortunately I had stroke. I'm recovering slow and steady. I don't have anyone to talk to pertaining my condition. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care of yourself and be safe always. God bless.
Monica, we are all in this together. Having a stroke sucks. That fact that you are learning to deal with it is awesome in a way. Never give up and keep on going. We've been told that every little thing that you do helps in your recovery. Lidia has now started getting dressed by herself. It's a workout for her and she's tired afterward, but she's doing it. That's really the bottom line. Just do it! Don't wait for things to happen. Because of the pandemic and limitations with our insurance, we've done a lot of rehab on our own. We watch the youtube channel, Orlando Neuro Therapy to find out tips on what we can do for specific issues that we are having and it has helped. Never give up. Even though we make smaller steps now, the goal is to keep on going. We may be slower, but we will eventually get there.
One thing I forgot to mention, we have a university here that we volunteer at. This university asks for stroke survivor volunteers to help students learn about speech, physical and occupational therapy. We go twice a week and get free physical and occupation therapy given by students who are learning to become professionals. This might be something to look into to see if you could volunteer at the local university to help students learn and in doing so, you get some free phisio. Just a thought.
