Just got mine. If not done. I fond I enjoy the humbucker setting for my single coils. I have Lace pu on an old Clapton pewter strat and am pretty thrilled with that setting. I play jazz on it.
This compressor gives you sustain and feels nice and squishy, but I really noticed a significant change in the tone, its not transparent, it changes the EQ. It also adds a "thuddyness" to the attack of the note, no matter how much dry you mix in. I tried it, but then tried the Cali76. Its really worth the extra money. It has all the nice feel of compression and sustain, but changes to the tone are barely perceptible - what change there is, just cant say it any other way, sounds like records. You guitar sounds closer to a Zeppelin or Beatles recorded tone somehow. Biggest advantage is the Cali76 does zero to the pick attack - none of the thuddyness of other compressors. Try it, you wont go back.
Compression is an effect that took me a while to understand and appreciate. I always used it for bass which i think has a more noticeable difference than with guitar. I bought a cheap TC Forcefield and didn't really care for it at first but I used it for a boost for a guitar I had with cheap weak pickups. It did a great job of tightening up the sound and gave it the much needed boost. I since played with it more and have found it to be useful for all of my guitars. I want to upgrade my compressor but I don't want to spend too much. I know Keeley are known for making great compression pedals and this one is on sale for $120. I tried out the MXR Super Comp and really liked that one as well and I could get it for $50 used. Not sure which way I will go.
What if you play one single note and turned the sustain knob all the way up. Will it sustain the note for longer length of time, maybe if you even used a little distortion. I'm looking for sustain like an Ebow can give you, but not having to use an Ebow.
Awesome video as usual. Does it play well with OD as it does with modulation? Where would you recommend in the pedalboard in relation to other pedals if any? Thanks.
Timothy, at the risk of sounding rude, The Majesty is so at odds with my aesthetic taste, I'm really not interested. The more traditional (looking) models, however, are my favourite instruments. I'll bet the Majesty plays beautifully, but the JP15 is about as far as I'm prepared to stretch in the looks department. Thank you once again for dropping by and saying hi. :)
It really annoys me how no one ever level matches their dry and compressed signal for comparison. There’s always some boost so you can hardly hear the compression part of things.

Thank you for the lead playing. Why is that so hard for other reviewers? Really appreciate it.
I bought one yesterday, I didn't know what I was missing for all those years. Thank you
When you turned on the pedal, I was sold after that first lick.
This one has pushed me over the edge. Bought.
Just arrived last night, pretty great so far. Being able to mix in a subtle compression into the dry is super nice
Great use of the compressor. It just takes a subtle amount to sound natural and effective.
I know I am kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online ?
@Sonny Ari Flixportal xD
@Baylor Crew Thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I appreciate it!
This is the only Compressor video in existence that shows how to use a compressor for Fire Lead Guitar purposes. Sold. Keeley on the way.
i noticed that too

Brett thank you. Great video, full of great tones and your playing shined and shimmered even better with this pedal. I appreciate it.
Ain't Brett the best?!
@@RobertKeeleyTV finally upgrading from the 2 knob I'm getting this model in a few days
Very good exploration of the pedal. You're a fantastic player.
One of his best pedal designs.
finally a non-strat/tele guitar on a compressor pedal review. not hating on those guitar body types but they sound freakin bright already.

Get the plus
Great demo - great sound! Which guitar, distortion and chorus are you using here?

QUE BUENA DEMOSTRACION AMIGO...ME CONVENCIO A COMPARME UNO......
Brett have you ever demo’d the MXR Super Comp? I have found that when you crank it it acts like a really good sort of overdrive sound.
Wow!!!
WHAT?... WHAT?.... whats he saying? I guess it doesnt matter, pedal sounds great. Sold!
Por favor. Ative as legendas desse video
What kind of distortion do you have?
Can't help noticing that you demo a lot of Music Man guitars. Think they will ever send you a Majesty to demo???

Yeah, but I had to ask...
How does he do that trick @ 5:40?
You lightly run the side of your hand along the same string that you’re hammering with your left hand.
What kind of Amp do you have?
This pedal will feedback going into a higher gain amp. Impossible to use with a Marshall DSL 40CR.
Is your comp going before or after drive?
Before, ALWAYS! Should be the first thing in your chain
and thats how you demo a compressor pedal. "...sail into sunset".
It really annoys me how no one ever level matches their dry and compressed signal for comparison.
There’s always some boost so you can hardly hear the compression part of things.
