what a great teacher Sam. you just concluded my whole week lecture about shoulder joint muscles in just a few minutes but with profound effect on my understanding. Allow me to make a summary on this comment section just for the sake of learning and to those who want to read through different ways. spinal accessory nerve- trapezius muscle axillary nerve- deltoid muscle supra scapula nerve- supra and infra spinata muscle dorsal scapular nerve- rhomboid major/minor muscle thoracodorso nerve- latissimus dorsi muscle long thoracic nerve- serreteus muscle subscapular nerve- upper/lower subscapular nerve- subscapular muscle pectoral nerve- medial/lateral nerve-pectoralis major and minor muscle
HI Sam, I can't stop watching your videos lol You make it sound so easy, you truly have a gift for teaching! BTW I'm a physical therapist assistant and you have helped me so much. Thank you!
Covid19 caused lockdown has made studying anatomy a Hell for all students!! I'm a first year student of Physiotherapy and your videos are simply Awesome!!❤️🙌🏻 Thanks a lot!
You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Tadeo Jayden I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Dr.webster thanks so much for your wonderful teaching ....since I've been watching your videos ... I understood that anatomy is one of the beautiful sciences that human should learn...I'm Iranian & medical student
Thank you for your videos. I'm about to start my physiotherapy degree and you've helped me feel more confident about breaking down the anatomy of some of the major joints etc. Really appreciated
Bless ya sir ! You've really made my study so much easier !! 🤧❤️ Had been struggling with all this and you've helped me understand it in such a better way ! 🌸🥺
Thank you very much, well explained and logically described, therefore easy to understand for not just an academic needing to swot for exams but also a lay person such as myself. I had an accident in July 4 months ago, but since I had fractures elsewhere (maxilofacial) no attention was given to my shoulder / arm injury since it was just all lumped together as a "soft tissue injury". 4 months down the line I'm still in agony, waking up from agonising pain in the early hours of the morning, and have already offended one doctor attempting to prod me, telling him I didn't need his physiotherapy advice. Watching this video has now helped me understand I have a shoulder compression injury to the bracial nerve complex in particular to the accessory nerve affecting my trapezius muscle, causing agonising nerve pain, no prodding or physiotherapy will help in the short term and I am better leaving it alone to heal naturally without complication. I've arranged another telephone appointment with another doctor to get some more appropriate painkiller meds. Thank you for your informative video. ✌🙏
Although don't know most of the nerve names, I understand what you were saying fairly clearly and even tried to connect pain with areas to massage according to where the nerves came from. I however won't mix it with my meridian knowledge which may suggest headache to be treated via feet. or lower backpain via hands. Initially learning this as I had difficulties locating acupoints along the spine(feeling too many gaps than it actually has). I found this channel and Autonomy Zone quite helpful. Many thanks.
I am an engineering graduate.. but your videos are helping me understand so much interesting things about our body system.. well explained as always..! Love and respect from India.
thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
Can you please do a few videos on embryology? I've been watching your anatomy videos and they are great.. a few videos with embryology models would help a lot..
I have written a textbook (Embryology at a Glance) and have a few podcasts (www.samwebster.net) but I don't have many embryology models. Because embryos change with time it's difficult to show with models. Cheers!
Hello sam, I have pulling sensation nd tightness in the medial border of scapula with weakness of upper back muscles and arm. I dont have shoulder pain.if there is nerve damage in any of the nerves supporting the upper back muscles, how to test nd what is the approach to treat it
Great videos! The only thing that I think is very important and missing in your videos are some discussions from evolutionary standpoint, so that we can understand much better not only a particular structure, but also the purpose of that structure
I get brachialis and serrated edge mixed up because the brachialis makes the bicep look bigger and so as a result I think of being shredded so then I call it the wrong muscle. It's not a knowledge thing it's just a mixing up the words thing.
I've got a BSc in Anatomical Science and a PhD in molecular, cell and developmental biology, but there aren't many anatomy teachers in the UK. We might be looking for an someone to teach anatomy later this year that has some human anatomy experience and enthusiasm for teaching, so requirements are variable.

Hi Sam,
What qualifications do you have in order to teach anatomy? I’m just curious.
Thanks!
