Oh so nostalgic! Often when nothing was on I would be doing something else and have this on in the background and I remember thinking how modern it was! It was like TV guide, but better, because it actually showed clips of stuff. And it was on the TV. So cool and so advanced! Now....heh.
I remember seeing this when I was a teenager. If I'm not mistaken, this was the first time we were given access to a preview channel in order to see what was being aired on TV stations before we changed channels. Now, every TV that is out there gives you that option without needing a specific channel to show you what is on.
This was around the time I got my first VCR and started recording the "Prevue" footage on my VHS tape (that I no longer have) after having Cable and do remember all those previews, "Prevue Tonight" and commercials that day and night.
I remember they replaced this later with a much better looking version. It was great. I watched it all the time to know what was on. Sometimes nothing was on... so this channel would be what was on.
We are the prevue channel. You're either looking for whats on or your a 96 year old shut in whos been dead in their condo for 2 months with the AC set to 64.
I remember this! It even had a jingle it would show - at least here in Upstate NY: "Watchin' the Prevue Channel, 'cause I don't wanna get the what to choose blues!" Then it became the TV Guide Channel, now Pop, and goodbye Prevue Channel.
I am disappointed that this Prevue channel did not use double arrows after WHRO last show of the night instead it showed Off Air instead. If you saw a channel beginning with a K or W that had double arrows on both before and after the times shown that meant 99 percent of the time the station was off the air.
Damn! I Was Mad! That I Missed The 1991 Mystery Date Movie Trailer On The Defunct Prevue Guide Channel In March 1992 At Old Gus House In Fresh Meadows New York.
I remember having Direct TV back in the day and I think it was from 290-300 was Cartoon Network, Disney(The good Disney), Boomerang, and nick. Those were the days and I think 357 was TNT??
@@mrchopsticks3Cartoon Network already debuted, the channel was launched in 1992. It probably wasn't shown in this area until 96, even though it already existed in other parts of the world.
@@Victor-ee4wl I did. Mainly from 1994 - 1997. 100s of VHS tapes. All cataloged and labeled, stored in boxes in my garage. Then the flood happened. They were all water damaged and destroyed. Thankfully, this tape was still in my VCR and was safe. It was a miracle.
When are you go to upload hours of Prevue Guide from 1988-97? Do you have HOURS of the Lifetime network from pre-1986, 1986 branding, 1987-93 with promo affiliate feed that said "Roll to Record"?"

1993 was the year 2 Stupid Dogs came out. I saw several episodes on Prevue before TBS & before my cable provider belatedly picked up Cartoon Network.
