How do you feel about using a chicken leg bone in place of the plastic? Keeps in "character" of the feather, grinding down one end of the bone and leaving the "knuckle joint" intact at the bottom end of the feather... I was thinking a deer bone, but chicken is way easier to find in quantities...
@@matthewwarfield4302 yeah I’ve used everything from bamboo, cedar and birch small branches I cored out, antler, deer bones (hate drilling bone period) … but at the end of the day, it’s just a wrap you can pull it off at anytime and the feather itself is unharmed. So it’s all just decoration. If it were to be traditional, real sinew wrap and that’s about it. Most traditionalists don’t even wrap the feather. 🪶
