Traveling on NCL Jewel in October for 9 day cruise to Alaska. I have been on a few cruises before but they were with Carnival. I found your review very helpful as I prepare for our trip. Thank you!
We just went to Alaska on the Jewel and loved it. I would rate it exactly the same as you did. For the most part a great experience and much better than some other cruise lines.
Doing a back 2 back on the Norwegian Jewel this Monday as I’m Alaskan so I can visit my friends throughout the state and have lunch with one of them at each port! Then shop all day in Canada while my bags are relocated to my new cabin! Then, I take my beautiful Alaskan water “Uber” right back home with new friends and a fabulous crew! Life’s good and …. Welcome Chechakos! 😊
We just returned from an Alaskan cruise on the Jewel. I would agree with most all of your reviews. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly and our room steward was very attentive when needed. We did not have the room cleaned but we did request some towels. The delivery of chocolate chip cookies was an extremely pleasant surprise one evening, since there were no cookies ever in the Garden Cafe (which would be great if they did have them). We ate our specialty meals at Cagney’s and Tepanyaki. Cagney’s was outstanding! Our meals were delicious and cooked to perfection. I agree with your review of the outstanding service there. Our Tepanyaki experience was fun! We both didn’t care for the first course of fried rice. We both found it dry and somewhat tasteless. I had heard several other cruise reviewers rave about this rice, so we were both very disappointed. The steak and shrimp and scallops we ordered, though, were excellent and cooked to perfection! Our chef was lots of fun, too. Our cruise director didn’t communicate too much with the cruisers but did make his presence felt at the shows. I thought some of the entertainment was excellent, like the Cirque show and the comedian, Vince Acevedo. Some of it was just okay. We went to every show they offered. On the whole, we really enjoyed our first sailing with Norwegian.
Booked on the Jewel for Alaska from Vancouver in September, and again in February in the Caribbean. We sailed on the Jewel back in 2017, we enjoy the smaller ships like this, much more personal. Thanks for your review!
Have you been on Norwegian Jewel? Want to?
Did back to backs on Jewel to Alaska and could not agree more the Staff was amazing.
@@jeffdilworth I love NCL staff on the whole! 🙂
