He became stronger in the last days and hours. He took responsibility for his deeds and showed total devotion and grattitude to his brother. He died an honorable man. It was sad, painful and yet his faith triumphed over all the evil and wickedness that put them in the very situation that ultimately led to his death. This was a profoundly powerful and heartwrenching film with great actors. Thank you so much for posting it. Those of us who had wonderful parents who loved us work to live decent lives so that we will be able to return to them. Peace and love for life.

Ahhh I can't imagine the pain I have seeing this innocent boys go through that in their entire lives. How unfair was that kind of injustice!!!

Where was the law when their parents were separated? Where was the law when their mother was forced into prostitution? Where was the law when Dahn was covered in urine and his baby chuck murdered? Where was the law when these two young boys were forced to live on the streets trying to survive? . . . They don't call it blind justice for nothing.

This is a suprisingly great watch....WORTH THE WATCH
After 1975, Vietnamese people experienced a lot of trauma, this is just one of many painful stories of those who want to find freedom. I have a friend who was also on the same boat that was shot like in the movie by the Vietnamese Police but he escaped death and was arrested....
I would say Vietnamese people have been experiencing trauma since a very long time before 1975. Their modern trauma began after 1945 at the latest.

There's something so terribly wrong when a person with the power/authority to condemn another person to death cannot see beyond the surface of things, and can only maintain a strict adherence to the law. The very idea of what a judge is supposed to be about - JUSTICE - was certainly missing in this case. It makes me so angry! That judge could have commuted the boy's sentence to life. In this case it seems abundantly clear that the boy was manipulated into doing what he did. That said, the boy died with honor/dignity.
hard drugs ruin lives and kill. I had a BF with a law degree and good looks and charming personality - but cocaine ruined him. The boy I had a crush on when i was a preteen died of a brain aneurysm from the cocaine he found in his older sister's drawer....he was 15 years old, quiet and shy - a very good kid.
Singapore has no drug problem, therefore they are actually saving tens of thousands of lives by punishing the guilty severely, while the "liberal" countries are complicit in the endless deaths of drug abusers.

This is a great, well-made and well-acted film. Just fyi it's not as action-packed as the preview might have you believe, but still totally worthwhile
The ending part hurts...
Many people are going through the such sentence... Imagine how hard it would be to continue until their last hour.... They'll be going through the countdown. The limited life turning into nightmare.

What a sad story. His life was one hell from the beginning to the end. besides this the court was off, he never intended to go to Singapore but to Sidney and the judge was fully right to convict him but should have considdered Australian law and saved his life. May there be mercy on his soul.
