- ✅ I propose to recap the best moments of this fight and see my review of this confrontation. А round-by-round analysis.
That was the fight in which Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) appeared to win a conclusive decision by at least an eight rounds to four margins against a tired & cautious Canelo.
Shockingly, two of the judges differed, with one Adelaide Byrd scoring it for Canelo 118-110 and the other Don Trella, handing in a 114-114 score. The third judge had Golovkin narrowly winning 115-113.
Golovkin was naturally fit to be tied over failing to get the victory over Canelo, as he felt he’d won without a doubt.
He was not surprisingly furious at the judge that scored it in Canelo’s favor 10-2, and he felt that she should have been punished for turning in such a poor score.
What made things even worse is a year later, in 2018, Canelo won a controversial 12 round majority decision over at the same venue in, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and fans were almost as angry about it as they were about the oddball draw that was scored in the first fight. - Спорт

I haven't seen many of Golovkin's fights, but apparently he is tougher than I thought. He took a lot of shots and just kept coming; especially those body shots. Alvarez has put down many opponents with body blows like that. Looking at the "punches landed" count, it would seem that Golovkin won the fight.

After such a shocking 118-110 scoring of Adelaide Byrd, I wonder whether or not she finally was dismissed from the Boxing Association as judge. Anyhow, what serious boxer would henceforward agree to a boxing match when this lady would still be in office to score it? And why women are allowed to judge the efforts of male boxers is also beyond my comprehension. I still am waiting to see Canelo finally 'kissing the canvas' in a confrontation with David Benavidez, but it seems that Canelo is ducking it. Whereas the 'draw' in the second fight with Canelo appears to be a more reasonable decision.

118-110 in canelo's favor is insane.
The punch count notwithstanding, it was during the fight that the announcers stated, "Canelo's punches had more power and that Golovkin took the most punishment". In spite of that, how do our questions about the fight even matter, when these kind of match-ups are Gold to the fight promoters. And in all fairness, these guys fought three fights and Golovkin had three chances to beat Alvarez... the rest is history.
He did though! That's what this video is proving. If there's no knockout or even knockdown, you have to judge the rounds. I get that Canelo hits harder, but then you could say Golovkin's skill prevailed. Sure it doesn't matter what we think, but there should be consistency in judging.

Well we clearly see GGG win this fight but I always say when a fight is close enough the judges are gonna favor the more polarizing boxer
Boxing judges should be held to a higher standard. The judging body should be comprised of retired professional boxers and trainers.

Canelo is a warrior and a very respectful fighter, however, the people in his group and behind him were cheaters, that made him so bad. Lose is acceptable but cheat not.

I just watched a few seconds of the first 1/5 skipping thru and I thought Tripple G won that hands down. Canelo's rep gave him that draw. sad.
