    @Heritage Craft thanks ever so much! I'm getting into restoring antiques...glad I found you! When it comes to soft wood...depending on how soft...clean it up with warm soapy water as best you can using a brush and cloth. Once dry there is a product that can harden wood. Then fill with wood filler...sand it and carry on. Sorry I don't recall it's name. I saw it in a video where the gentleman was restoring an antique window frame on the outside

    You've done a great job of restoring the cart to it's working condition.
    It deserves better than to see out it's life parked in a garden.

      thank you for your kind comments. The cart belongs to an older man who had a strong connection to the market and the cart, so it is a family treasure, and I’m sure will be looked after

    You're doing a great job. Might I ask for the dimensions of the cart? Like, wheel diameter, base L and W, as well as the upper part? I am an amateur miniaturist, just would like to build a 1:12 or 1:24 model. Thank you.
