Anyone who was a teen/young adult in the 80s is the luckiest person in the world. A time that looks so positive and radiant. Hot chicks,good music,cool clothes,so many things to cheer you up,positive vibes all around. And the only major thing u had to worry about is if a Soviet bomb was gonna drop on your house. Oh how I wish I could have experienced this decade.
I had the good luck of being a kid back in the '80s and--yes--it was a very good time to grow up!! It was a much more upbeat, stylish era. A time when kids had time to simply be kids and not worry about the pressures of the outside world. Life had a certain steadiness and predictability about it, if that makes any sense. Smartphones and the internet have really changed the way we interact in today's world.

It was a very good decade to grow up in! The vibes were just so much more positive back then. Having to face down the USSR kind of encouraged everyone to be the best they could. After all... who wanted the communists to outshine us LOL;-) The Cold War just sort of filtered through our everyday culture in very peculiar yet fascinating ways. People just seemed to care a bit more about themselves and the world. And the politics just wasn't so nasty and divisive like today. Ronald Reagan would have been considered a liberal by the standards of today's crazy Repulican Party!

I was four and saw it at age eight and loved it but I always wondered…why are they sitting on the table on opposite sides of the cake? Awkward and dangerous way to kiss lol. Why not just right next to each other with the cake safely out of kissing distance? 😂

He left the industry, got married, had 2 children & owns a woodworking shop in Pennsylvania. Wish he was still making movies 🌟
Michael Schoeffling, from Wilkes-Barre, PA., is now 62. He grew up and went to HS in the Marlton, NJ. area..attended Temple U. in Philly. In the mid-80s, he modeled for "GQ" magazine. This was his first acting movie, in 1984,, he was a "mature" 23. He averaged basically a movie-per-year, 11 total, between 1984 and 1991. As Heidi stated, since giving up acting, he has produced handcrafted furniture as the owner of a woodworking shop.
