Em 1996 conheci um cavalheiro na casa dos setenta com um passado muito interessante. Ele estava relutante em falar sobre isso no início, mas com o tempo ganhei a sua confiança. Ele partilhou que tinha passado por uma sobrevivência de morte corporal causada por um ataque cardíaco maciço. Falou com paixão e brilho nos olhos sobre a ocorrência que englobava uma variedade de sensações, incluindo desprendimento do corpo, serenidade total, calor, aparecimento de entes queridos falecidos, tendo uma rápida sucessão de imagens visuais do passado e a presença de uma bela luz. Apesar de estar grato por ter voltado aos vivos, mal podia esperar para deixar o seu corpo terreno para sempre e para voltar ao incrível domínio onde tinha estado.
Esta canção foi inspirada na experiência pessoal comovente de Erhard e no livro que me emprestou: “Life After Life”, de Raymond A. Moody, Jr., M.D. um estudo de cem pessoas que experimentaram a "morte clínica" e foram reanimadas, e que contam, nas suas próprias palavras, o que está para além da morte.
Back in 1996 I met a gentleman in his seventies with a very interesting past. He was reluctant to talk about it at first but with time I gained his trust. He shared that he had gone through a survival of bodily death caused by a massive heart attack. He spoke with passion and gleam in his eyes about the occurrence which encompassed a variety of sensations including detachment from the body, total serenity, warmth, the appearance of deceased loved ones, having a rapid succession of visual images of one's past and the presence of a beautiful light. Although he was grateful that he had rejoined the living he couldn’t wait to leave his earthly body for good and to get back to that amazing realm he had experienced.
This song was inspired by Erhard’s moving personal experience and by the book that he passed on to me: “Life After Life” by Raymond A. Moody, Jr., M.D a study of one hundred people who experienced “clinical death” and were revived, and who tell, in their own words, what lies beyond death.
