Montgomery County Transit Ride On Bus Action Series #3

Here is my 3rd Montgomery County Transit Ride On Bus Action Series taken place at the Shady Grove Metro Station. A lot new things are coming to Ride On this year which are new Limited Stop service and new buses.
A new Limited Stop Service called Ride On extRa will operate service between Lakeforest Transit Center and Medical Center Metro Station along state Route 355. It will operate on peak hours only with 10 minute frequency from 5:30-9:30 am and 3:30-7:30 pm. It will be the same regular Ride On fare. It will have new buses with there own Ride On Extra paint scheme the buses that will be in the Ride on extRa Scheme is supposed to be a Gillig BRT 40 ft model which will feature Free WiFi access, USB charging ports, information displays, and extra padding on seats. Plus it will have transit signal priority . The Ride On extRa service will be implemented on October 2, 2017.In the future the Ride On extRa service is planned to be convert to a full BRT service with dedicate bus lanes and etc.

More NEW Gillig buses will be arriving this summer and Fall for Ride On, they will be adding 59 new 40-foot buses this summer and fall. 42 of the buses will be replacement buses replacing older buses. 34 of the new Gillig buses will be CNG and 25 of the new Gillig buses will be Diesel. Plus 17 of the new Gillig buses will be in the new Ride On extRa scheme. Expect to starts seeing these buses this summer and fall.
