I'd love this kit for my A2E conversion, due to it being compact and the shells look beautiful. And also have the option of play it in its acoustic form.

Kwesi, I just bought the Sonor Safari which is 6ply Maple shells, and just ordered the Evans 56 calftone heads for the 10"rt, 13"ft, and 16"kd(emad batter and eq4 resonant)... Thoughts??? I loved the sounds of the stock heads but am partial to the sound of the Evans 56 emad kd heads, and am looking forward to hearing the rt and ft with calftone, again thoughts? Big up and thanks mate!!!

    Hello,
First of all, thanks for your recording, it is very interesting !
I am interested in the new AQ2 models.
I allready have a drumset: A fabulous Force 2000 with a 22" bass drum, but I would like to play a more "jazzy and compact" drumset. This is the reason why I look at the new AQ2.
Would you recommend the safari set (16" bass drum) or the bop set (18" bass drum) ?
I think that the 18" bass drum is a very good compromise: more compact than my Force 2000 so it easier to carry it in my car for concerts, and also a good deep sound, with good "presence".
In otherside, I Wonder if the 16" bass drum of the safari set is loud enough for blues and progressive rock concerts ?
And last question: I practice at my drum school on the Breakbeats by Questlove from Ludwig (16" bass drum).
I find the bass drum a bit too quite (not loud enough), and I find the "legs" of the floor tom are too short. I am 1,85m tall, and I need to mount the legs of the floor tom at maximum and it is not enough to be confortable.
What is your experience concerning the AQ2 floor tom ?
Could you please measure the legs of the floor tom for me ?
    Best regards

Vincent, I just bought the Safari and I'm 6'2" the BD and RT are super comfy to adjust and play. The Sonor Safari had dimensions as follows 16"×15"kd, 10"×7"rt, 13"×12"ft, and 13"×6"sd all 6ply Asian and Canadian Maple. The sound is the best I've ever owned, I play Paiste 602, 2002, PST 7 cymbals and this kit is perfect with stock heads.

Can this kit hold a 24" Ride Cymbal (4 kg) with the Cymbal holder?

It’s a great kit for sure at this price--. Can’t get the snare tuned to my liking however but the other three drums are superb...

16x16 is an odd size for a compact kit. 16x14 or 12 would make more sense.

Richie, you have to play this kit. I couldn't believe it myself. The best sounding kit I've ever owned, hands down.

I play small drum kits you may want to take a look at my channel because I use a Gretsch Catalina street kit with a 16" bass drum and an Odery cafekit with a 14" bass drum if you have not played them you will never know what you are missing
