I was at one of these gigs - he was pretty big in Europe at the time (heard him on the Kombi radio in most countries - Greece, Turkey, Germany and Israel played numerous songs of his - the others were mainly "You're The Voice". He was way relaxed and having plenty of fun, swearing and joking. Memorable!
John openly admits in interviews he forgets the lyrics often. (Found Interview). Front row here in he said mouths the lyrics and sometimes they muck them up on purpose and he follows them. Must find that interview, gee he’s pushing 70 in it. He’s 72 now. ua-cam.com/video/9tRrfvlU4YA/v-deo.html
This is too cool! Probably one of the rarest Farnham clips available - never seen any footage of John in England. So rare to see John on such a small stage in such a small venue.
Matt Adams I was 11 when I went there with my mum and my younger brother. We had this brand new Sony Video 8 camcorder with HiFi stereo sound, sitting at the front of the mezzanine. I remember John even pointed at me during one of the songs. My brother and I were the only kids in the building. We really wanted to go and they don’t normally allow under 18s because it’s licensed. Then they said “it’s really loud!” My mum told them that I had already been to two John Farnham concerts in Australia. Not sure if they entire audience were Aussies on holiday, expats, or locals.
Cool story! The Chain Reaction Live concert on VHS was my birthday present for my 13th birthday and the first time I'd ever seen or heard John live. His performance totally blew my mind and turned me into a huge fan. I live in NZ and have travelled to Australia to see John now on 15 different occasions and have seen him live in NZ also 4 times. I've been lucky enough to meet him in Auckland after a show a couple of years ago. Such a great guy and an around incredible performer.
Matt Adams that’s great. Looks like 12 is my total number! Classic Jack - Melbourne 1988 Chain Reaction - Melbourne 1990 Chain Reaction - London 1991 Chain Reaction - Music Bowl 1991 Talk of the Town - Melbourne 1994 I Can’t Believe He’s 50 - 1999 50th Birthday Live at the Regent - 1999 The Last Time - 2002 The Last Time - 2002 (again) The Last Time - 2003 (yet again, the one they put on DVD) Tom Jones - 2005 I moved to America in 2007 so no concerts since :(
Alex Stelling You missed out on the Whispering Jack Tour and the Jack's Back Tour I was 14 when I saw them in 1987 Farnham has been my favorite singer since then.
Kesbol nice! I have my ticket in a scrapbook, but it was packed away. So haven’t yet narrowed it down to which of the two days I went to. It was a really good concert.
This was being performed about a half an hour drive from John's birthplace. You'd have to think that wasn't accidental. Perhaps he was saying thanks to mother England?
I saw a video of him performing in Birmingham (think that’s right) & good grief what a boring audience, John certainly earned his money that night, ha ha. At least this audience is more connected to him.

One of rare performances of John Farnham in his native country the United Kingdom with some of his brilliant tunes that could've been in the top 10.

Fun, swearing and joking🤣 sounds like John👌
This is rare. Its weird seeing Farnham in his prime performing in a smaller venue. He hits some incredible high notes in See the banner fall.
Can’t believe I missed this gig! I’ve been a super fan since Whispering Jack!!!😩🙈
Hahahah 5:08 John messes up the lyrics, see Angus on Bongos and Lindsay look at each other and laugh lol

Friday 21/06/91. A 10 out of 10 concert for me … and those are rare!!!
Kesbol you went too?
I did indeed. And also Monday 27/07/98 at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London. I keep these kind of records :)

How many at that venue do you think? He’s from England originally
