  • Exploring the Suwanacoochee Spring along the Withlacoochee River and Suwannee River in Northern Florida. The spring house here built of Limestone rock during the 1800's was once the former bathing house here in the now ghost town of Ellaville along the banks of the river. The water flows out from the Floridan aquifer into the river from deep caves. The water is cold and refreshing, it's no wonder that for many generations people have come here to take a dip into these healing and calming waters. Around the area you can see parts of the Florida Trail and remains from the town if you look closely enough throughout the woods. It's a great place to venture and enjoy the nature and take in some history. Enjoy and thank you!

Thanks for the video, I love this place. I sat about everywhere around there on the rocks, dirt and big tree roots watching that water flow right there. So peaceful and beautiful. Thanks for bringing up some good memories.

I like to see nature "reclaiming" the spring ! I wonder how much those enterprising northern entrepreneurs charged the wealthy northern tourists to "take a dip"

I used to skinny dip with my high school friends back in the 80s at this spot. Many great memories.
