Fender Bassbreaker 30R - Demo/Review

- Here is my review of the brand new Fender Bassbreaker 30R all tube amp. Three 12AX7 Pre-Amp Tubes and four EL84 Power Tubes.
It is the big brother of the Bassbreaker 15 and includes a footswitch to select between the clean and the overdrive channel.
The clean channel has a bright switch (not footswitchable). The overdrive channel has two Gain stages, (footswitchable). Digital Reverb (not footswitchable). Sounds amazing and very articulate.

Hi.. Im torn between this and the hot road deluxe IV. The BB 30R seems it has a clean tone more similar to my marshall dsl40cr, than the classic fender clean...
Great amp - just bought one the other day. Modded a Lion Tamer plug (used in my HRD normally) so I can crank the dirty channel volume and then drop it to bedroom levels without any loss of tone.
Use it as a 3-channel amp (no pedals) for my punk gigs

Purchased this amp myself and I've, now, got the best tone of my life. I play the clean setting more than I ever had with previous amps I've owned (3) and the drive setting is thick and smooth. I've got a stout, custom wound bridge humbucker that helps but the amp is really special, imo. It's a better version of BB 15W.

Good demo, thanks. I think this is a pretty good amp overall. I was surprised. It doesn't sound quite as rich in the cleans as some Fenders I have or have had, but overall, it's a pretty, credible and good sounding clean. The middle control is a plus over a lot of Fender combos without them. The real virtue is you get a good overdrive/distortion channel for once in a Fender combo, with other good features like channel switching, effects loop, two sets of tone controls, middle controls, two gain levels, master volume on the gain channel, compactness, etc. It's not the be all, end all, but a versatile amp and decent value for all you get, no doubt.
How much do you really like this amp
I think it's a fantastic gigging amp. As mentioned, it's not a vintage Fender sound, but more of a modern type sounding amp. Excellent pedal platform as well. Thanks for watching!

Great demo. Wonder if they will come out with a head version?
Thank you! I have not heard any plans for a head version. At least not for 2019. Pretty sure that if it really takes off and there is a demand, Fender would consider it, though. Apparently, they are hoping this will be a new flagship model.
the 30r is not really that heavy it's easy to tote around I don't see a need for a head version unless they make like a 60 watt or 100 watt. A 60 watt head like this would be absolute heaven
