My husband and I were unique. We met in second grade, were friends, party buddies, and drifted our ways. He crushed on me in 2nd grade, I crushed on him in 7th and thru high school. We drifted apart, but reconnected in 2010. Friends again. In 2012 we were both single and decided to try a serious relationship. He was a drummer, and sent me this song one day and said it reminded him of us. It was our song. We got to see UFO on their final tour and when they played this we both cried. After only 8.5 years married I lost him to bladder cancer just 4 months ago. We were best friends, then lovers, then husband and wife. He was the peas to my carrots. We knew each other 51 years. Ours was a story not many people live; we held that candle for 41 of the 51 years. God, I miss him.
I just lost one of my best friends ever in life he was a he'll of drummer and and band practice in my basement for years he died of a heartattac 57 years young I miss you everyday Auggie Rock on in Heaven my friend😢❤!!!
Thanks for sharing your story and sorry. Isnt it amazing how though we’re all strangers to one another, the soundtrack to our youth was not only the same, but extraordinarily meaningful to us all?
One of the greatest concerts I have ever attended was UFO and Rush at the Santa Monica Civic. Two absolutely incredible bands at the top of their game. Rush was on their Farewell To Kings tour and UFO had recently released Strangers In The Night. My head almost exploded that evening, listening to and seeing live rock from the gods themselves
What an amazing song! For me, this is their finest moment as a band. The guitars, the vocals, the arrangement, the keyboards and drums, and lastly; the orchestra. This song is equal parts emotion, passion, and is profoundly powerful. The live version is fantastic too, in that the guitar solo over the fadeout at the end is sheer brilliance. This is truly epic songwriting and performance at its highest level!!!!
Здесь они как- то очень как будто обработано и почищено звучат. А во время живых концертов 95 года, когда они воссоединились, они звучат сногсшибательский! Жаль, что эти концерты воссоединения не сняли нормально, профессионально
Epic song, UFO were such a great band, I was fortunate enough to see them a few times with this, the classic lineup of Mogg, Schenker, Way, Raymond and Parker. Still the best live band musically that I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of bands live over the past 50 plus years.
@terryvogel5252, Same here, saw them twice on this tour with this lineup, and on the Obsession tour. Great band, especially live where they totally kicked ass.
UFO could do what most bands only dream about, aspire to… in their original 70’s lineup, they could hit the stage and SOUND THIS GOOD LIVE, every time, sometimes, SOMETIMES, I swear they sounded better LIVE than the albums I had at home… 🥹 I so miss those years - decades of 70’s thru late 80’s! - when ROCK CONCERTS were the REAL THING, especially during summers! Music was our ‘social media’ then! Tickets were cheap ($5-$7 in the 70’s, $12-$18 in the 80’s) and here in the Midwest, we were always within an easy day’s drive in all directions to bigger cities - Chicago, St. Louis, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, etc., so we saw it ALL, when concerts RULED America!! ❤️🎶❤️
People used to talk about Chicago's Colour My World having a long intro, but this has an intro almost as long as that entire song, then an epic outro. UFO were always an underrated band, but this is an iconic hard rock album, an all timer.
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll!!
One great written, performed & recorded songs from a killer lineup of musicians. I think i wore out most of my UFO cassettes listening to them cruising around back in the day. Summer nights, car windows down, and great tunes to drive to. How i miss those days. Especially the music. The 70's was the best decade of music in my opinion.
@1Phepsi Well Randy is no slouch. He is responsible for furthering the case that rock music has become the equal of classical music in composition and melody. I did remark that Randy made his guitar sound like a keyboard , remarkable.
@timothygrayson Randy Rhoads was definitely a great guitarist, and I thought it was fantastic of him to say that he considered Schenker one of the best players and composers of the time. What higher praise is there, than to be regarded so highly by one of the greats.
The differneces between UFO and today's bands? 1. All band members are virtuosos 2. Each band member plays for the song as a whole 3. All band members understand the importance of music to the non-musician
Saw a reunion show at the Vic theater in Chicago 1993(?). One of the most awesome shows I’ve ever seen to this day. The crowd was loud singing along at times they almost drowned out the band! They sounded great!
I discovered this band through this album and after that I became a fan and this ballad that closes this album really captivated me because it is very beautiful.
Absolutly same level as smoke on the water, stairway to heaven or what ever...never understood why UFO was never that famous...just take the album "flying"...so inovated...
Saw them w Tonka early 80s. Finally w Schenker on Walk on Water tour. Just plain amazing. Was the fabled Strangers in The Night line up. One of the best shows ever for me. Club on Long Island. Felt like a coliseum of sound. So many great albums from 70s-2000s. I like this Chrysalis recording along with late 70s Rory Gallagher on same label. 2 under promoted groups. But it’s better since they play smaller venues for the fans.
The rhythmic laid-back-phrasing of the vocals is out of this world. Marvelous and a prototype of how a world-class singer could/should give his best to a song. One of the best bands of the world UFO was, as a matter of fact.
I burnt out this song during the 70's, 80's and beyond so rarely listen to it today. However, the incredible visuals constructed during the video enhanced my interest in the song again. Creatively, the best effort I've seen (here) for a non pro video. Excellent work = thumbs up and new subscriber.
How I wish I could be one of you who got to see these guys live. I had tickets for a show in Orangevale CA in 1993, I think. Somewhere around then. Michael stomped off stage in freaking Modesto the night before my show was supposed to happen. So close, but yet so far. Damn!
This song, holds SO MANY MEMORIES FROM MY YOUTH.,Cruising in a car late at night. On country roads.Cranked up! And it’s still as timeless, today, as it was then! Freaking love this song! Man oh man! It’s been too many times, and I can’t go back…….❤
A few yrs ago I saw UFO in a place in Hollywood, they played all the great songs except Love to Love, great show, walking back home , I told my friend “ they did not play Love To Love, he said “yes”, a couple of old people like me(I’m 60 no), was passing by, I said to the gentleman” they did not played Love to Love; he said “no, but I did not like the show”, I surmise it was probably because old farts go to a show and want to listen and reminisce about their past time. I on the other hand, was so elated being there, I was about 55 yrs went that happened, and guess the old couple was probably my age or f a bit older. Bottom line, I scream my lungs out when I’m go to concerts and sings all the songs, in inside the concert that man saw me singing, so he probably said he didn’t like me because he stared at me having a great time.and he just wanted to reminisce. I’m 60 yrs old, now and songs like Love to Love keep me feeling young. UFO sonabitches, Rock oOn!!!!!!!!
A super memorable track off of one of the greatest rock albums of the 70s. Seemed like the hardest bands around could do a "not quite so hard" track and just nail it.
What a unique band of my Generation. No one sounds or did it like Phil Moog and the boys.Saw them on the Mechanix tour and then at Knebwoth with Mountain and Deep Purple & others. In the later years in Brighton.I used to listen to my brothers copy of this in 1980 when I was 14.UFO and Thin Lizzy then steered me through the NWOBHM.
Von der Kimposition ueber den Gesang,Arrangement und übermittelte Atmosphäre einfach Klassik.Jeder der UFO Musiker erfüllt seine Aufgabe um dieses Werk zu realisieren. 6:366:38
Love this band never got the just do deserving to them they had a beautiful way of combining hard and heavy metal with beautiful Arrangements also on this album listen to Try Me one of the most beautiful ballads by a heavy metal band you'll ever hear love this band saw them in 77 when they toured with REO Speedwagon Michael Schenker was one of the top five guitarists of all time
Nithing beats this decade of music 🎶💯🔥💕
The sadder thing is I try telling these kids and they just don't listen

Absolutely One Of The Greatest Live Bands on The Planet Earth 🌎💪🤘
Yeah I saw them live and they put on a fantastic show!

That outro lead is everything lead guitar in a hard rock song is meant to be. It is absolutely brilliant.
amazing
Saw the reunion tour in 1996 original line up, simply a monster show. I had chills
It's one of the greatest rock songs ever written.
Masterpiece! Bought Lights Out the day it was released in 1977. Seems like yesterday!
Me too, and still listen to those first five Chrysalis studio albums and Strangers In The Night their live album regularly.
Lights out London I’ll always remember that album.
Remember me on my great teen time...great song...great voice...great band and Michael's solo...absolut masterpiece ❤
Лучшая подача исполнения!!! Всем уфологам привет из Новосибирска!

Рада, что кто-то еще, как и я, слушает и смотрит УФО, подарившее Белладонну и гитарного Бога Майкла Шенкера!

What an awesome kick ass band. I got to see this band several times in concert I'm really glad I did.
Australia ?
@terryvogel5252, Same here, saw them twice on this tour with this lineup, and on the Obsession tour. Great band, especially live where they totally kicked ass.
Best and most underated band of all time. They should have been bigger than most of them. Same with Magnum - Tony Clarkin RIP 😘
😮
I think if Michael hadn't bailed when he did, they would have been as huge as say Aerosmith
Amazing.Wondefull.If i compare this with the music from today😞I have had the luck to fell and see this at real
and can live at this great time
One of my favorite tunes from High School. Amazing it still sounds good! True artistry stands the test of time.

I see Schenker as a modern Mozart his contribution to music is exceptional and moving.
Randy Rhoads said the same about Michael Schenker.
@@1Phepsi interesting 🤔.

I was addicted to this band in the late 70s. Saw them live 5 times -- only once with Schenker.
This is wn Awesome Song and Vinyl Album from UFO.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ This
I was about 15 when I heard this song for the first time. It still blows me away today as much as it did that first day

I feel privileged to have seen UFO in their heyday. Three times. They never disappointed.
Ron Nevison brought the best out of UFO. A band at their creative peak with Michael Schenker’s guitar absolutely blistering…
