Thank you so much for this precious video. Just a little question, where is the cruise control module located on the Mercedes (I got a w124) ? Thanks mate.
Hi Ralf, great video! I am recapping (replacing capacitors) on all my units in my W126, ECU, Fuel Pump Relay, Idle speed control and ABS. One tip, the lacquer is actually conformal coating. Mouser, Digikey etc have a removal liquid which works better them acetone. Some parts are sensitive to acetone. Also all replacement caps should be rated for automotive, fully sealead and have a temp rating of 105C. Please contact me for recommendations for capacitors. Thanks Peter
Interestingly the newer version is microcontroller based but is pin compatible as far as im aware. Someone installed the earlier analog version in my 1990 w124 and it works fine.
Looking forward to doing this on my car. My cruise works some times however I can only set it by pushing the control down. Resume and accelerate functions do not work. Only other function that works is turning it off by pushing the control forward.
I would love to have your take on headlights. As much as I like to keep the originals, they just don’t provide enough light. (Even in the second generation W126)

Why are you whispering Ralph? I had my volume turned all the way up and could barely hear you. Also the lighting was a bit poor. Alright, I'll stop whining lol. You showed how to tell the positive from the negative on the capaciters but is the circuit board marked positive and negative on the holes? The old capaciters had wires coming out of both ends but the new ones both wires come out of the same end. They don't look like they will fit the board.
Hi Werner. One day I will get it right. Like I whispered in the video you can use both, the axial or the radial caps. Only the biggest ones must be radials. Also, look at and then note the polarity of the original caps so you do not mess up installing the new ones.
Thank you for your efforts to get the information to us.
I couldn't diagnose cruise control malfunction.
Thanks. Did you get it to work?
Great video. I’m late to the MB cruise control party. Will do this and let you know how it goes
Glad you liked it. Good luck!
thanks for the great video. I will do this next winter on my 560 SEC.
The best of luck to you!

It should be on the driver-side LHD above the brake pedal.

That one I have not seen yet. Good luck.
Thank you so much for doing this video.
Good luck to you!
What are the micro-Pharat numbers that disable the console at speed and how many of you will show them in photography and usually posted on UA-cam
Check out minute 3.36 where I go over what you need. 2 each of 22, 10, 2.2 microfarad.

That should be the amp. Try installing new caps. Good luck!
My friend, write down the part number of microfares so that we can buy them by number from international websites, very urgent

Good idea. There are a lot of posts about light bulbs and lights. Thanks!

How many volts?
Because I took off the one I had and couldn't find the voltage number written down
Can you tell me the voltage number my friend?
Can you please double check the diameter and length? Is it 5x11mm or 6x12mm? The former is 50V and the latter 400V
@@straybenzes My first friend is 22UF-40V
Second 10UF-63V
The third is 2.2UF - there is no volt number on it
@@straybenzes Hello my friend
I have it 5x11mm and have installed 2.2uf100v
Is there a problem?
But the speed controller did not work
What do I do

Hello, nice work. What are the voltages of the separate condensators?
22uF, 10uF and 2.2uF at 100V??
Sorry for the late reply; I just now saw your question. The stock 10 and 2.2 ones are rated at 63V and the 22 one at 50V.
