Niche commanders and budget builds make this one of my favourite EDH channels on UA-cam. Ramses isn’t a deck I’d considered before but now I’m going to go through my collection and see what I need to build this list.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! And you're right, Tetsuo being in the poll does line up with the lore (which honestly I didn't even intend) and by the looks of it we may just get the man who killed Ramses as our next build!
It's really cool it see unique tribal decks! Trailblazer's Boots would be a cheap equipment that can make our assassin's unblockable against most opponents
Glad you enjoyed it! And Trailblazer's boots would make another superb evasion granting piece of equipment - though it $3 price tag kept it out of this build (but it would make a great addition if you don't mind going over budget).
Lil pricey, but I'd add Thornbite staff and reval in riches. Then just to go with those 2, viridian longbow and blood money. The bow and staff combo on ramses so you can kill every creature on the board if you please. Then the other 2 combine ensuring you get paid for killing everything for a win. Assassin's are paid to kill.
They certainly be, though the build already has quite enough removal (who knew that assassins' would be good at eliminating targets?) - so adding even more might be overkill.
While I really like this deck, I know my friend group would never let Ramses live to see combat. I may modify this to fit a Krydle of Baldur’s Gate Rogue tribal though.
Moira is an interesting one.... I would need some time to think about how to build her but she seems like she wants to be a combination of Voltron and Reanimator? Maybe with self sacing creatures? Either way, she would be a interesting build around.
That is certainly true - which is why I would suggest Rule 0'ing with the table to ensure playing Ramses is fine because no one likes to get picked on for playing a certain commander (and this build is even made with not picking on a single player until we can get the win in mind).
Man... my back hurts from all the backstabbing this deck does... Amazing build as always! Now as for the vote... I vote for Tetsuo, mainly because he is the man that killed Bolas lorewise. Also Soul of Windgrace will probably feel pretty much like an inferior version of the Lord Windgrace precon, while Jodah would make for a decent legendary tribal deck... except I still prefer my boy Garth One-Eye. Day 404 of waiting for the Grazzet face reveal. Oh hey, it's the computer error number... have you done any errors or mistakes in building all the cut-rates in your opinion?
Thanks for the support as always! Tetsuo also killed Ramses, so it would be quite poetic to get a build featuring him so close to that of his nemesis. Regarding mistakes - I have made a few... The ones that come to mind are misreading Primeval Spawn (which I thought still got you the dig and free spells if you cheat it in after it exiles itself) and Passionate Archaeologist (which I thought deal damage equal to the commanders power, not cmc of the spell), along with the few times that the breakdown stats were slightly inaccurate due to last minute changes. Thankfully though lots of these are caught in post, but a few manage to slip through every now and again.
I mean, if you want to play it that way yeah - but I find it best to play a slower game that deals with threats evenly among opponents as they come down and only alpha strike someone at the end for the win (both for the sake of the fun of the other players and to conserve/build up our own resources until we can secure the win).
I really don't like the design of this card, it can cause a multi-player game to turn into a 2 player game; find a weak or unlucky opponent and deal lethal damage with your assassins (or other creatures counting at least one assassin that attacked this turn) and you just instantly win. Also, these are the most combo ladened colors in the game and there are actually quite a few ways this combination of colors can finish off a single opponent easily. I hear a lot about this commander being "bad" but that effect can just end the game instantly for the entire table in the right situation which can often seem unfair.
The interaction this guy has with scooping makes him awkward to play with. It seems like either your opponents all murder you or you always threaten just winning for 1 damage.
You're not wrong. I my playgroup we scoop at sorcery speed so its less of an issue, but otherwise I can see this making Ramses awkward to play if your opponents are fond of gaming the system.
Hey Folks! Let me know in the comments what you think of the build and what commanders from Dominaria United you want to see in future polls!
I only make/use tribal decks so when you make shit like this I want to make more bad financial decisions.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the build and like the channel!
Wow, it's like all my favorite Assassins together in one deck! Definitely lining up with Tetsuo on this poll

“As added flavor we will also feel robbed when buying these thief flavored cards” lol
Glad you enjoyed that!
Yes!!!! Really want to build this guy. Thank you for the vid. Love your decks
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
BRAIDS ON THE WAY! I will most definitely be picking that list up when it drops :)
Always a pleasure, Grazzet. Underrated channel. Keep it up :)
Happy to hear you enjoyed the build! And with support from fans like you, hopefully this channel won't be underrated for long!
I would love to see a build around queen Allenal of ruadach, just something about her is overlooked and she seems cool imo
She is certainly a effectively go-wide tokens commander and quite powerful considering she's an uncommon! Maybe I'll add her in to a future poll!

Awesome work again, my vote is for Tetsuo. Would love to build a deck around this card
Glad you enjoyed the build and thanks for voting!
Sick content.
Happy to hear you like it!
What an amazing brew! And for that price? Sheesh
Glad you enjoyed it! Thankfully a lot of assassins' are not too pricey, so that definitely helped keep the price down.
Lil pricey, but I'd add

Interesting addition and definitely flavorful!
This commander is so on theme
Glad you think so!
No Murder or Doom Blade, those would be thematic spells.

Fair enough!
Or moira, urborg haunt:)

I'd expect everyone else ganging up on you. They wouldn't want to "soften up" an opponent for you, and if you kill one, you most likely win.
That is certainly true - which is why I would suggest Rule 0'ing with the table to ensure playing Ramses is fine because no one likes to get picked on for playing a certain commander (and this build is even made with not picking on a single player until we can get the win in mind).
I will play it anyway! Bring it on!
Windgrace
Thanks for voting!
only wanna play the deck cause the commander is named after me HOW COOL IS THAT

That one player targeted by this is gonna have a bad time playing. Lol.

Great work but I feel like this commander might just lead to games of archenemy…
Yeah, I can see that happening... Lots of folks may just be too scared of Ramses to not focus him after all.
