That came out pretty great. I was worried when I 1st started watching as I know from previous experience that anything faceted like these diamond drills (The technical name for the dots lol) don't like being covered with resin. But you did what I hoped you would and tried to keep the resin below the drills. As I seasoned diamond painter, I would highly reccoment that you DON'T cover a full drill painting in resin. It just doesn't work and you will destroy your hard work. You don't need to ask me why lol. You can use clear PVA glue to give the painting a bit of extra security do the drills won't pop off on the round drills but I wouldn't recommend it if it's a square drill picture. They line up super close and the glue won't go all the way down to the canvas. Sorry for the long comment, but just wanted to share a bit of my years of diamond painting knowledge with you to hopefully help you out. xx
Don’t be sorry I appreciate your advice. The one that I am doing now is a square one with like 80 million drills. Do you not glue them in anyway when you do these kinds? Where the adhesive seems to be pretty good in that one so far I worry that over time they would fall off. And just so I don’t waste money is the glue that they sell for them specifically basically pva glue?
Thank you ❤️🥰❤️
I'd get a roller/rolling pin and go over them to make sure everything is stuck down well.
@@TheBlueElephantGifts When I do paintings with the standard round drills, I like to use the glue stuff they sell for it, if it's a cheaper priced kit as the glue can varie on how sticky it is, which I did only just start using as Never bothered before when making up the more high quality kits, where the glue is mighty strong most of the time. As for the kits with the square drills (dots) the glue can be a bad choice. I lost my cat of 18 years last year and my son got me a custom picture of my cat and After I finished it, I covered it with the glue and after it was dry, I rolled it up to keep it safe until I got a frame and when I unrolled it, it has cracked all the rows of squares apart and looks awful. Got to do some serious work to try and fix it some how. Also from what I can tell, it seems to just be clear PVA glue. Not tested it myself yet but will be doing so before buying any of the other stuff again. xx
@@WendigovanStudio I’m so sorry about your cat 😢what a wonderful thing your son did for you. ❤️ I really hope that you can figure out a way to fix it. The one I am working on now seems to be pretty sticky so hopefully I won’t have any issues with it. I may try the clear pva glue on a different one that I have and see how it works before I spend money on the other one. Thank you 🥰❤️
Talk about patience! Not sure I could do all those itty bitty places with the resin! It turned out beautifully!❤️.
Thank you so much Carolyn 🥰❤️it was a pain for sure but I am in love with the end result
I've been doing this for about a year now. Glad to see someone else had same idea. It would be nice if they put printing on something clear. That way we could dot both sides
That would be really cool.
Love it! I do diamond dot and resin. It never occurred to me to combine the two. Wow!
Thank you so much Dominique 💚💚
the resin holds the dots in place great idea!!!!
Thank you Olivia 💙🥰 yes it does just be careful not to cover them 😊
Wow I can't believe how beautiful that came out. It really is just stunning. Lots of hard work gone into that piece but its just fabulous. Congratulations on doing such an intricate piece of work & having the patience to do it! Love your work 🏩
Thank you so much Kym ❤️❤️
Just an idea. You could resin your canvas before adding your diamonds, like a sticker, then add your dots to the resin. You could even use uv resin where you put the dots. It would be easier to achieve the look and much faster.
I like it. That’s a great idea. Thank you so much Louise ❤️❤️❤️
I think it’s pretty great your daughter wanted to help out! And it turned out beautiful. I just might have to try this one out
Thank you so much Chloe 💚💚 it’s definitely worth it (I think anyway). Just make sure not to completely cover them. ☺️
This is beautiful thank you for sharing I have loads of diamond dotz you have now given me an idea so thank you
Thank you so much ❤️🥰❤️I’m glad I was able to help 🙂
Hi Nicole! This turn out georgous. I from time to time do Diamond Painting (besides paiting, cement molds and madala painting) I found several sealers that worked for me for sealing after I finished. They make a Diamond Painting Sealer made by Mereido that you spread on. It comes with a Silicone brush (like the flat one) and spread it around go between each line and then what I do to keep the shine of the diamonds is take a lightly damp rag and just run it across the tops of the diamonds and it takes the sealer off the top (not at the bottom) so they shine and bottom sticks to canvas and I haven't had any problems with losing and diamonds. However, I do like to frame mine paintings so they don't get dusty. I even provide the frames for folks who purchase my work. I've even use ModPodge and do the same rub the top only and haven't had any issues with that either. I use the ModPodge for like my keychains, magnets, trinkets and charms/necklaces. Just wanted to let you know what works for me. I really enjoy your channel, learned some new stuff. Thank you.
Thank you for all of the info. I really appreciate it 🥰🥰
Absolutely beautiful!!! I made the mistake of going to their website. I could spend A LOT of money on there!! So many beautiful projects I could be doing!!
Thank you Tracy 💚🥰 I know I had such a hard time choosing
What a brilliant idea to showcase your cross. It’s beautiful. I don’t know if I have the patience to do a diamond dot piece.
That you Katherine ❤️🥰 honestly it’s almost therapeutic
Tackit usually works with if applied with a cheap makeup brush and let it dry until clear and tacky. Can use heat gun to speed up the process. 💙
I think I have some of that too. I’ll have to try it. Thank you Kera 💚💚
That is so GORGEOUS!!!
Thank you so much Denise 🥰💖
Nice!! I was wondering if this was going to be successful, and it was!! Good job, Nicole!!❤
Thank you so much Shalom 💚💚💚
Beautiful job.. well done! A wonderful keepsake piece❤😊

That is absolutely stunning. We'll done ❤
Well done I meant. 😂😊
lol thank you so much Delphine 🥰
Wow a really gorgeous piece of artwork I really love that cross ❤❤❤you can put the resin over the diamonds and they really sparkle I did a tray with one and it does really shine
Thank you so much Geneva 💚💚💚
Definitely, I would try this! It came out great!
Thank you so much Verne 💚💚🥰
Wow! Gorgeous!! Well done ❤❤❤
Thank you so much Donna 🥰❤️
The cross looks great, Nicole.
For a future experiment, I might be tempted to either add more wet-in-wet watercolour to the existing dreamy watercolour edge, or perhaps to give this a black background - I think it might set off your colour choices beautifully - even better than the white?!
Thank you so much 💚💚🥰 I’ve never experimented with water colors before. Oh black….. oh that really would look amazing.
@@TheBlueElephantGifts There are loads of fab watercolour tutorials on YT - splashy flowers are really easy to master if you fancy having a go. I'm sure you'll find some watercolour artists whose style you like. If not, give me a shout as I'm happy to recommend a few channels! 😄
Yes, I avoided black for ages, but it really make colours pop in a way that white simply doesn't. It's the same as in my cottage garden - since painting my fence a deep indigo, the flowers really pop - I always had a white fence before and it then became 'all about the fence' as light colours advance where dark ones recede if that makes sense? Anyhoo, thanks for sharing your work with us, and hope you continue to have fun! Warm wishes from the Garden of England. 🤗
I have to say I'm the same way with black. It's not normally my go to. Any time I ask my husband his advice on colors (he's a painter) its always black, lol. I may have to check out some. It could be fun to in-cooperate it into my art. Thank you so much
Glad I saw this I'm going to have a go at putting a smaller one in a tray
Awesome 😊 let me know how it works in a tray I’ve been contemplating on doing a tray
Maybe get the really small diamond paintings and put them in coaster molds? I think that would totally work.
That cross is beautiful 😍 every room in my house has crosses.
I was able to renew my membership today. Sorry if it didn't go through last time. The bank said the scam was from Texas and a lot of people were effected. Maybe they should open a few more borders, hey? I digress😅😂
Thank you so much Ali 🥰❤️I am really in love with it. Don’t apologize you have nothing to be sorry for 😊I’ve been playing around with some ideas for that box mold. I think I have decided on one to start with so it’ll probably be out in the next few weeks
@TheBlueElephantGifts Ooh I'm excited! Can't wait to see what you do 😊
@@Ali-H3444 😁😁
Love to see more might give this a try when my hands feel better.
Love your explanation😊
Thank you so much Tracy 💚🥰
Just found your channel from this video showing up in my notifications. I love what you did. My bff and I love to diamond paint so this is a really great way to gift to someone a DD painting that will last a very long time. Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you so much Leanne 💚💚
I love it so much. I just started watching you and I am new to resin!! You are so helpful!!
Thank you so much Debbie ❤️🥰 welcome 🤗 I am glad that you are finding it helpful 😊😊
Absolutely beautiful 🎉🎉
Thank you so much Tracey 💚💚
This is stunning Nicole. Kudos to your daughter for helping. It takes a long time to do those. I have one I've been working on for over a year 😂❤Gail
Thank you so much Gail 🥰❤️ it actually helped me out a lot. I have an elephant one that I’ve been working on. It’s pretty big and I feel like it has 80 million pieces. lol 😂
Nice to know, I have a fish tank drawer I'm working on right now, so off to sanding it
Ugh I hate sanding lol have fun 😊
I just used leftover Diamond Dotz in resin on my channel making flowers with resin 'glue'.
That’s interesting I’ll have to check it out 😊
First time watching you . I think thats great that your daughter wanted to help. Maybe you and her could do more projects together. I would have put my glitter in the resin and used myvhand to spread the resin
Welcome 😊 we may. I know she wants to. I thought about putting the glitter in the resin but I didn’t want it to travel over the cross and the drills and take away from that. That being said it may have been easier to smooth over the resin with my hands instead of how I did it.
Love it never thought to do that I love diamond painting I have done 7of the already but not with resin
Thank you so much 💚💚
This turnout great, I do dimoond painting as well,ty for the advice, always wondered if I coyld use resin on them 😊❤
Thank you Laura 💚💚 and you’re welcome ☺️
That’s lovely Nicole! First time I’ve seen someone not ruin it by covering the dots completely. Great job. 😊
Thank you so much Barbara 💚💚
WOW that's beautiful
Thank you Paula 💚💚
Very clever idea! Those of us who diamond paint are always looking for unique ways of showcasing the finished painting. And since I resin as well, it is a perfect idea for finishing some of my diamond paintings! Thank you for the tutorial and the cross looks fantastic!
Thank you so much Darleen 💚💚
It’s beautiful! ❤ Thanks to you and Emma for your patience, lovely work and for bringing new ideas! 💕

yes its like painting canvases
lol that’s what I was looking for 😂
This came put stunning. I love it. I've actually bought some diamond arts to go on tray molds, but they have been sitting in my cupboard since the new year. lol 😆 great work as always. Look forward to your next upload ❤

Thank you so much Sherri 🥰❤️
It turned out beautiful. I'm glad you did it so now I won't be quite so nervous to give it a shot. My daughter bought several diamond paintings that have been sitting untouched in 1 of my craft rooms. Guess this will be a weekend project for me. Thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you so much Lynn 🥰❤️ just be sure not to cover the drill or it’ll be flat…..unless that’s what you are going for
I think you two did a beautiful job. Well done. 😃
Thank you Carolyn 💚💚
You could use a fingernail file to trim the white canvas like material on the edge of the wood and there wouldn’t be any seems that you would have to hide. Just a suggestion.
Ok I didn’t know that. Thank you so much Jennifer 💚💚
You're very brave to try this! Emma did a great job helping, too!! Crosses aren't my thing, but this is very beautiful and you both did fantastic work 🩷
Thank you so much 🥰❤️
so pretty
Thank you so much Nini 💚💚
Good job sweetie 😊
Thank you so much Carol ❤️❤️❤️
It's gorgeous. Maybe you should use the coating made for it before using the resin 😊❤
Thank you so much Debra 💚🥰 it’s just a glue right? Or is it something else?
Modge podge for the diamond painting. I just recently found that.
@@debranewbigging641 ok thank you ☺️
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing

Turned out beautiful!!! Great job!!!

Thank you so much Karen 💚💚
😂I got a hand sander to keep me from giving up on my project and I is resin on my wooden boxes and beads
I need a hand sander……like someone’s else’s hand 🤣🤣🤣 seriously though I do need to get one
That's awesome that your daughter helped, looks like she enjoyed doing it.❤ Would UV Resin give you better control and keep it from soaking in so much? Love it, turned out beautifully 😍
Thank you so much Beverly 🥰❤️ I don’t know…. I have a love/ hate relationship with
Uv resin. I feel that this particular piece is too large for it and I’ve found (at least with the kinda that I have tried) that it shrinks a lot when it cures. Now it may work ok in a smaller piece like the size of a keychain or something like that. I also think in general it’s more expensive per ounce than 2 part. She did. She wants me to teach her how to use resin. I let her help me do an ornament for her friend around Christmas and she had a lot of fun.
@TheBlueElephantGifts gotcha on the uv resin. I have a love/hate relationship with it too, mostly hate🤣🤣 Awe....teach her how to do that resin so when you can't do a video she can step in and a good way for her to make things for money in the future!😍
@@beverlytinsley-minniefield2434 true. She is super talented and crafty.
Fabulous
Thank you so much Katie 💚💚
Very pretty. Did you enjoy doing the dots? Must’ve taken you a long time to complete
Thank you so much Jayne 💚💚 yes I did have a lot of fun doing it. This one didn’t take too horribly long to do.
I would of added more smaller rhinestones to the center of the cross, for me it's too bare but otherwise it's beautiful.
Thank you so much Tina 💚💚
I put a Halloween diamond painting into a mold during Resinween this year, and I found that the resin really flattened the look of the diamonds. 😣
That was a huge worry of mine. I’m glad that I was able to keep it below the drills so I didn’t lose all of the texture
You could have frayed the canvas edge out so that you wouldn’t have to worry about the edge. It is made of cloth after all.
Very true
Gorgeous! You and your tedious projects!!
Hahahaha I just can’t stop myself 😂😂 thank you Valerie 🥰
Haha. You are good at it!
@@valerierasnake2312 they call my name. For real. I’ll be done with something and my brain is like nope you need to do something else and it absolutely MUST be intricate or tedious 😂😂😂
Patience of Job girl!! I have less patience the older I get!
@@valerierasnake2312 I’m with you. I am absolutely in love with my grandkids but after a few hours I start questioning how it was that I had the energy, patience and everything else that comes with little kids to raise 5 of them. Lmao 🤣
Could you just put the resin down in small areas and put the diamonds on top? Resin works as a glue for jewelry. Just thought it might save you a step. Idk but curious.
I don’t think that would work. Mainly because these take hours to do (some days, weeks depending on how many drills) and then they wouldn’t be secure so there no guarantee that they wouldn’t move as the resin cures. Uv wouldn’t work either because even if you cured as you went along it wouldn’t be flat.
@@TheBlueElephantGifts makes sense thank you.
So if you cover the dots will that dull them? I have seen so many beautiful pic on Temu I want to do along with beading and resin pours hahaha😂 and your video was the best keep doing great work
If you cover the drills it will flatten them. The color may still be there (not if clear) but they will lose all of the sparkle and dimension
Been doing this for a while but just be careful certain diamonds you use change colour
Oh ok thank you. The resin causes them to change color?
@@TheBlueElephantGifts yes some of the diamonds go clear I usually use resin to keep my keyrings together and last longer if I use uv resin then there ok but if I use long cure resin then some certain diamonds fade and go clear and you can’t make out what it’s supposed to be, trial and error sometimes
@@paulinebranter8773 thank you so much for the heads up on that. I really appreciate it🥰
😂😂😂😂 good luck!
😭😂
Where did you get the board for the background?
Hobby Lobby
@@TheBlueElephantGifts THANK YOU VERY MUCH
@@Sandra.Sandy.Robinson you are very welcome 😊

It's canvas
Thank you 😊
I’ve been sitting around with some finished diamond art paintings wondering how to finish them off. I had considered resin but was afraid of what I might face. Thank you for putting your video out there! It’s given me the confidence to try it out myself. 🩵
You are welcome Stacey 🥰 just be sure if you are going to try it not to cover the drills.
From my understanding it takes 2 full coats of the tack it, letting it dry between coats. 🫶
Well that very well may have been the issue. It was sticky just not sticky enough. Thank you 🥰❤️
