The penalty: Stories of once football stars now locked up in Kamiti maximum prison

For a long time football and crime have had an uneasy relationship. Many footballers come from life's harshest environments, and grow up without even the most basic privileges of life. It is these difficulties that often propel them to become top class players, but it can also lead them to indulge in behaviour that incorporates crime. Cellestine Olilo visited the Kamiti Maximum Prison and met former footballers who now spend their days on the jail's pitches as they serve their terms.
