African Footballer of the year and strike for Serie A Club Napoli, who is also top striker for the Nigerian National Team, the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen has been trending for the wrong reasons. It was reported in the media but not confirmed that the Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, who has now resigned following the poor run of the Super Eagles in the ongoing World Cup qualifications matches, reportedly said that he would not beg Osimhen or any player to play for Super Eagles. Osimhen in an effort to present his own side of the story went overboard in a trending video where he showed a lot of disrespect for Finidi George.

The Super Eagles's problems started with the NFF. They believed that a fantastic player like Finidi George will make a fantastic coach. Unfortunately, Finidi George was acting like a king too. That must have lowered morale amongst the players resulting in a zero win during the first two games. This low performance caused the NFF board to reduce Finidi's powers and subsequently Finidi resigned. The lack of a win coupled with Finidi's attitude might have triggered Odimhen's anger and outbursts !!!

Good job, mr Paul . As soon as the news of Finidi's resignation broke I was on the watch out for your take on the matter. Somehow, I knew Finidi was not going far coaching the national team. His refusal to work with his former team mates in the super Eagles is a very poor understanding of how team work brings about success. Some people even said he was right because according to them, the duo of Amokachi and Amunike would work against him. Typical Nigerian way of thinking. Without both Amokachi and Amunike, Finidi's reign has ended in a rather disastrous way while throwing up this ugly fight with Osimmen. Those who have listened to the player will immediately notice his prideful insult on the nation and their poor coach. Yet George Finidi is still to blame. He brings to mind the man who crooked himself into the presidency in disrespect to the peoples' choice.. Now he is wrestling with the grass at eagle square to prove it's his turn. We will continue to appeal to the sense of humility which I think Finidi showed he had in short supply when he refused the assistance of his former mates. Finidi, for his own pride could not understand his role was to bring out the best in the proud, rich Osimmen for the team. Now everything has crashed just after two games;the same Nigerian attitude of hubris. George has resigned but the one wrestling with the grass will not because Wole Soyinka will always find a way to blame the innocent one on his behalf. Good luck Nigeria.
