Lots of diverse and interesting comments about the choice of music over looking the fact that these talented students gave up their free time to support a fundraising event in support of the Science museum in London. For those of you kind enough to leave a positive or supportive comment - thank you.
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
These people are really good dancers! They probably already have, but they should go on Broadway! Good job to those who participated! Thank you for inspiring the children that were there and the adults! - Thank you!
Per me, stasera, una meraviglia dopo l'altra. Questa musica del grande del grande Jacko, cantata e ballata da ragazzi in mezzo alla gente stupita è un flash. Arte povera, da strada, ma con amore e tanto stile. ottimo.
... i'm... i mean... i've got my copy of "Flash Mobs for Dummies" but i can't seem to find the, the page-- hang on... no, that's not it - i mean, the page where it says it's mandatory to use only original recordings.... help a zombie out, here.
+Clivee This is the Glee Thriller/Heads Will Roll mashup, thank you... That said, very talented people putting their time and effort into something they are passionate about. (typo edit)
+Lydia Mathews - Hi Lydia, not questioning the talent at all - they all did well in the routine that they were dancing. The Thriller routine however was specifically choreographed for that music. To see it danced (nothing wrong with the moves like I say) to different music, just doesn't work for me.
Yea, I wasn't having a go, just... I'm an enormous Gleek, so... I've seen the episode it was done in too many times, I can recite the plot of it off the top of my head, and I can pick out the individual actors' voices in this clip
+Lydia Mathews haha that might be a little TMI for some. Some might be shaking their heads at that, but its all cool - to have passion for something is great. Cool to see the London Science Museum featured also. Haven't been there in donkeys years, probably due to the fact I've been living in the USA since 2003 but even then, it was quite a while before that I think since I was last there.
Could someone explain why people do flash mobs to well known songs with well known dances, but supply neither? I am actually asking, out of genuine curiosity. Here is an analogy: if someone did a flash mob to some Taylor Swift ditty, neither the particular dance nor music would be important. Being only Taylor Swift, neither element is in the least bit meaningful under normal circumstances (lol). But when they went through all of the effort to move like MJ's zombies, and it led up to Thriller, and then it was not only _not_ the actual song, but also was _not the dance_, you leave at least me confused, and mildly disappointed. Fund raising for worthy causes is important and laudable. And, of course, I recognize the immense talent and effort that went into this, and recognize I am capable of neither. But would you play the opening to the Electric Slide or the Cupid Shuffle at a wedding, and then play a "Glee" version of it, and do some other dance? That is my question, in pretentious paragraph format.
boy people sure can be cruel!!!! they worked hard so the choreograph could have been better that dont matter they realy worked hard and they did good!!!!! great job all you students keep it up!!!!1
Great song, *horrible* arrangement. If this is, indeed, a Glee version, they should really have known better. You don't mess with Michael. Ever. Regardless of anyone's opinions of him personally, MJ was a music and dance genius. Whoever the arranger was should've known better. But, for what these kids were doing - a watered down, glee-ified version of what was originally a great song/dance act - they did it well. The dancers obviously have talent. I just would've liked to have seen them do something significantly more inspired by the original.
I really disagree with you. I taught high school for 41 years and would make the following points: *This isn't Broadway. The teacher (?) is trying to do something entertaining that involves a lot of kids, lots of hours and practically no expense. These are the kind of activities that we need to offer them, now more than ever. *This is not half-time at Shea Stadium. The teacher might find three students who could pretty much replicate Michael Jackson's arrangement. As a teacher, the goal is to involve as many kids as reasonably possible - not to highlight one or two superstars. Yes, you want a good performance; no, you don't insist on perfection to the point where you can only involve 3% of the students in your group. *They were also singing loudly as a group, and quite well. This is something the average flash mob doesn't do. *Do you think Michael himself would have made the same criticisms? From what I've seen and read about him, he was a kind person who loved music, so I don't think so.
And for the above reasons, I would really like to see these groups get a little more appreciation from the crowd...people watching this and frowning, or not even clapping once convince me that there are a lot more strange people out there than we'd like to think.
NOT a horrible arrangement, it's a MASH-UP, and a brilliant one! Kevin McHale does an amazing version, and is an excellent singer, but with all the echoes and background noise you can't really appreciate his voice, I recommend watching the actual version. And MJ would be the last person to want to stifle someone's creativity! Just because no one does it LIKE MJ doesn't mean they can't do a version that is excellent. Saying only the original singer can perform an actual song correctly is absolutely a false statement. In fact, I can think of several examples of artists doing tributes to original artist that do a BETTER job! Not MJ, but other big names. Adam Lambert's version of "Believe" made Cher CRY in his tribute to her, and made me like the song again, after it got played to death when it first came out. And speaking of Adam, he does Lady Gaga's "Marry The Night" AS GOOD as the Lady herself, he performed it on Glee, and someone matched up that video with Gaga's video, and it was as if they were doing a perfect duet! And Depeche Mode's version of "Heroes" will never be as perfect as Bowie's, but it's damn close.
:/ I can only imagine what the on lookers thought. I wouldve thought they would've broke out in thriller walking around like some zombies like that. Edit: Oh this must be some cover. Thought it was some other song.
Not one of the better ones I've seen. They should've stuck with the original music and moves. No one wants to see an interpretation . . . they want to see what Michael envisioned and performed.

I always laugh at the end of flash mobs because after the song ends, everyone ups and walks away like nothing happened =D
That's the point of a flash mob breh
just like musicals are supposed to be haha
i thought they were gonna stick with the zombie gimmick
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Caiden Zaiden instablaster :)
WTF? Thought it was going to be cool until I didn't hear MJ's version. This is a song that should never be remade.
These people are really good dancers! They probably already have, but they should go on Broadway! Good job to those who participated! Thank you for inspiring the children that were there and the adults! - Thank you!
Such a nice work.! Loved how they acted like zombies at first and two of them were still playing the role.. Nice dancing skills, everyone!
Per me, stasera, una meraviglia dopo l'altra.
Questa musica del grande del grande Jacko, cantata e ballata da ragazzi in mezzo alla gente stupita è un flash.
Arte povera, da strada, ma con amore e tanto stile. ottimo.

The song is a mashup done on the show Glee. The song is Thriller/Heads will roll.

Its the Glee mash-up version of the song but the singing is live - not pre-recorded or by glee!
loved it!
Were doing a flash mob to thriller duriing lunch at school. Halloween lands on a mondsy so it would be a good way to make mondsy more exiting
Glee thriller? I have this in my watch later.
no go. That's not the real Thriller song so this is lame.
... i'm... i mean... i've got my copy of "Flash Mobs for Dummies" but i can't seem to find the, the page-- hang on... no, that's not it - i mean, the page where it says it's mandatory to use only original recordings.... help a zombie out, here.
They did the Glee version!
This was cheezie
It is the Glee mashup, but it's the Glee cast singing it here.
This may be the glee version of the song, but this isn't the cast of glee singing. Just thought I'd put that out there before people dis glee.
This is Freedom - not Thriller.....you can't do the classic Thriller routine to Freedom, it doesn't work - still, glad to see they had fun
+Clivee This is the Glee Thriller/Heads Will Roll mashup, thank you... That said, very talented people putting their time and effort into something they are passionate about.

Glee version
Needed to practice in front of a mirror first.
It's such a shame they used the Glee version. This could have been so much better.
the girl (zombie) at the front in the cream shirt sort of spoils it by singing along to the songs lol :)
I think everyone is singing? I think it's a chorus group who added the dancing.
wathing this flashmob remind me with the walking death

Not one of the better ones I've seen. They should've stuck with the original music and moves. No one wants to see an interpretation . . . they want to see what Michael envisioned and performed.
