This is one of my top 5 favorite songs of Dimash, and hearing of someone not liking it, blows my mind! Dimash showed us all of his vocal talents in this song and he is such a wonderful story teller. I don't understand a word of the song but yet, I felt every note. Tu Blu does mean I love you. I think your friend loved the performance but once you said you did not like it, she backed off. He facial expression, throughout the performance, showed how much she loved this.

This song is near the top of my favorites list. I can never tire of hearing it. Why? 1. I have never before heard vocal fry in the baritone register delivered with breathy vocals. It *should* sound terrible. It does *not* sound terrible. It sounds *wonderful.* The skill to pull that off is unimaginable. 2. The 'dream' section - his soprano section - is just perfect. No soprano in the world could sing it better. 3. He shows off his breath control in the final section. Marvelous! And it is in the final section that we hear joy in his voice. He has lived a dream and is glad for it. 4. The song has a wonderful narrative structure. First, he tells about the dream to come. Then he shows us the dream. Then, now awake again, he tells us what he told us and how he feels about it. This structure is commonly used in fiction. We've just listened to a stripped-down novel! 5. In this song, he breaks *all* of radio's mandatory conventions except for one: length. It's low-energy at the start, which radio hates. The middle section is also low-energy. He inserts long dramatic pauses to keep us guessing. Only in the final section does he peak his energy. It's terrible for the radio format - but it's ideal for live performances, because it's so intensely dramatic. The song is so different from conventional pop, on first hearing it, we may be unsure as to whether we like it. Dimash is demanding that we expand our understanding of what pop music can be. So, I did that. I'll never look back. Radio formatted music now seems tepid and pale to me. I'm looking forward to your next Dimash reaction. There are still a great many songs to hear and more surprises to come. Most of Dimash's 'Singer' performances await your review. BRAZIL - Thanks for the reaction, this song and lyrics are wonderful in Dimash's voice! I think the problem is that people always expect Dimash to only sing in high notes, but his bass notes, his mixed voice is beautiful, the use of fry at the beginning of the song, the whispers, voice with air, these features are amazing and hard to accomplish, but Dimash makes them masterfully and beautifully, very high quality. Dimash has 3 voices and I love that he uses them and even includes these other features as it makes the music more beautiful and exciting. Your Baritone is great, I love it when you use it. Not always Dimash will sing using his soprano voice, high notes, but it sure will have a lot of quality.

I respect your opinion. However for me (and for many others I'm sure) love is like a dream is my favorite Dimash interpretations. Every time I listen to it I remember how privileged I am to be able to hear something so precious and so perfectly executed. That song is a diamond, a crown piece where DImash shows us just how much he's been polishing his technique and overall interpretation. All being said, it's a matter of taste. I always preferred soulful songs with delicate structures and suspenseful build ups relative to the more "poppy" sounds. To each his own. Try "love of tired swans" next. You two will love it. Salud

That was Igor behind the piano and he wrote this song a number of years ago. This was a tribute to the original singer of the song. It took me a couple of listens to appreciate this song so you are not alone. The lyrics to the song are beautiful and Dimash interpreted them wonderfully. I don't know if the subs were Spanish or Italian but if they weren't Italian, you should try to find them in Italian to get the full effect of the song and why he sang it the way he did.

BRAZIL - Thanks for the reaction, this song and lyrics are wonderful in Dimash's voice! I think the problem is that people always expect Dimash to only sing in high notes, but his bass notes, his mixed voice is beautiful, the use of fry at the beginning of the song, the whispers, voice with air, these features are amazing and hard to accomplish, but Dimash makes them masterfully and beautifully, very high quality. Dimash has 3 voices and I love that he uses them and even includes these other features as it makes the music more beautiful and exciting. Your Baritone is great, I love it when you use it. Not always Dimash will sing using his soprano voice, high notes, but it sure will have a lot of quality.

I respect your opinion. However for me (and for many others I'm sure) love is like a dream is my favorite Dimash interpretations.
Every time I listen to it I remember how privileged I am to be able to hear something so precious and so perfectly executed.
That song is a diamond, a crown piece where DImash shows us just how much he's been polishing his technique and overall interpretation.
All being said, it's a matter of taste. I always preferred soulful songs with delicate structures and suspenseful build ups relative to the more "poppy" sounds. To each his own.
Try "love of tired swans" next. You two will love it.

That was Igor behind the piano and he wrote this song a number of years ago. This was a tribute to the original singer of the song. It took me a couple of listens to appreciate this song so you are not alone. The lyrics to the song are beautiful and Dimash interpreted them wonderfully. I don't know if the subs were Spanish or Italian but if they weren't Italian, you should try to find them in Italian to get the full effect of the song and why he sang it the way he did.
But I thought he actually was singing in Russian here? I could easily be wrong.

Yes, Igor Krutoy composed this song, it was originally sung 25 years ago by Alla Pugacheva. Russian for "I Love You" (Я люблю тебя) is pronounced "Ya lyublyu tebya" so yes, you are right Lyublyu is "Love". Helo, you were actually hanging onto your seat for that last part :-)
