I met this beautiful woman at a photographers studio in the early 80s. She was wearing little or no makeup ...her face freckled . She was unassuming. Very low key . We talked a bit while we waited for the photographer to leave the set. She asked me what we were doing. I told her we were shooting a fashion catalog and she seemed very interested and asked me a few questions about how we did it and for whom we we were doing the photography. I did not acknowledge that I knew her cause I wanted it to be a normal situation. I have always thought she was a brilliant actress but from that day I admired her even more for who she was as a person.
Lee Remick was a great actress. For some reason, her acting never received anywhere near the recognition that she deserved. Her acting was subtle, nuanced, honest, realm and interesting, something rare now days. Her acting in Days of Wine and Roses was, and still is, some of the best acting of all time, male or female. And the prettiest actress of them all. Her face had character, and not just a bland frozen mannequin.
I was a teenager in the 60's and had a big crush on Lee Remick. I saw her as one of the most beautiful women in the world. My view of her was heavily influenced by her beautiful authentic open honest personality, and I will always hold her in that high regard.
I worked at her father's department store for about six years, the visits from Lee Remick were always special days. Lee Remick was jaw-dropping beautiful and always so friendly and approachable. her father was the same, working for him was an experience that I carried with me for my entire working life. The store and the atmosphere created there was a direct reflection of the Remick Name. Remick's of Quincy, Unique for the times.
Mr. SKINNER, You have done such a magnificent narration of many famous people. You have taken us through the years of these people with dignity and grace. Thank you, Mr. Skinner.
the days of wine and roses is one the best movies ever, and Lee Remick gives one of the most heart wrenching performances ever recorded on the screen
I agree ! That was a well made movie, almost too real. Redick and Lemon were so good together.
A stunning beauty and great actress who passed away far too young. . By all accounts she was as well a kind and wonderful woman with a golden smile. R.I.P. dear lady.
She was always one of my favorite actresses. As a pilot for a commuter airline a number of years ago, I had her as a passenger on one of my flights to Hyannis, on Cape Cod. At the end of the flight, she came up to the cockpit, thanked us and handed me a rose. I will never forget her gracious gesture. A truly kind and beautiful woman.
As an adolescent in the 60’s, I had a major crush on Lee Remick. I’m now 65, and to this day carry a torch for her. She was so beautiful ❤️
Me too!., I was totally smitten by her...I guess I still am..😢💔
@@michaelratliff905 I've got the same problem with Vera Miles ( and Lee a close second )
Beauty like Lee’s is timeless. She would be considered just as beautiful if she were a young star now. And I don’t mean beauty in the model sense, but in the combined sense of form and substance. I have a feeling that she was just as beautiful on the inside as out.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever

Thank you, Jerry Skinner. What a lovely tribute.
I hadn't heard or thought of Lee Remick for years - and was genuinely surprised that she died so many years ago! But what a beautiful tribute to a wonderful actress and, from what I gleaned from the narrator, a wonderful person as well.
I met her in the mid 1980s in New York on 3rd Avenue right at Bloomingdale's ,, , I approached her , told her how fond I have been of her acting, She was extremely nice and friendly .. asked e if I would like to walk with her and do some window shopping,, which I did, ,, this sweet hour has stayed with me and will for ever
Hayedeh Daftari WOW! Priceless opportunity!
Hayedeh , what a awesome thing to happen in your life , right place at the right time , your memory may have stuck with her the same you know .
Hayedeh Draftari..my husband work for a g.e company several years back. one of his friends that was right next to him got a phone call from Lauren Bacall regarding her dishwasher..that is as close as I have gotten to a starlett you are one lucky lady.
. t/%yt? v:'/.,
She was a lovely woman to look at , and a nice human being.
I always remember her eyes- they were so translucently beautiful it looked like they could stare into your soul.
She was brilliant in Days of wine and roses, she deserved an Oscar.
land It's a scandal she didn't get it for that performance in the same league as The Three Faces of Eve.
i know im randomly asking but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me
I've always considered Lee Remick to be the prettiest actress in Hollywood
She "is" a doll !
She is certainly up there, just so pretty.
A moving tribute to a completely unforgettable lady and actress. For me, she was one of the few who mesmerised the screen, as did for example Ingrid Bergman. How sad to die so young.
So touching, I almost broke down. I had no idea she went so young.
I met this wonderful lady while she was filming in Fort Irwin, CA in 1978. I was a young MP from Massachusetts and volunteered to be an extra in this movie. Lee was a very charming, pleasant and very pretty lady with green eyes and a great smile. I spoke with her a few times at length and remember how caring and polite she was. She spoke of her father and the business back in Mass. and how she missed it at times. I was very lucky to have crossed paths with her,...God Rest her soul,............
Cool! I also was once a young MP from MA. Nice story!!

When we lose someone in our world, no matter how small a part they played, our world becomes a bit smaller. Thanks for this video Jerry.
Very well done. I loved Lee Remick. She was one of Hollywood's Royalty. May she rest in peace...
She was beautiful. The Days of Wine and Roses is one of my favorite movies to this day. She and Mr Lemon truly played their roles to perfection.
Couldn't agree more. Great & powerful classic!
All I can offer are more kudos. (Altho I did not know she died at 55...how?)
I recall this film and as such I rarely if ever consume alcohol..so it goes for youth impact from a film..
Yeah. The quintessential American beauty. She was simply stunning in the Kazan movie, Wild River.
I agree with you 100%
There wa a time when Lee Remick was on just about every movie and television show being aired at the time. She was extremely prolific.
Her death was way, way, way too soon. And we lost a brilliant and versatile Actress.
Rest in peace beautiful lady.
The Lady was a real Touch of Class. I worked on a small TV programme with her, she was a real down to earth 'classy' lady. Miss Remick, RIP.
I always loved Lee Remick as an actress...what a lovely tribute from Mr. Skinner. Thank you kindly for the memories.
I had a job up in Vermont and some of the locals told me that Lee shot a film up there and in her spare time she would join a local sewing clutch where they made quilts for the shut in elderly. They described Lee as a normal, everyday regular person.
One of the most talented and sensitive actresses in the american movies. Lee Remick gave us wonderful performances but those who saw in "Days of wine and roses" can't forget her.
I will always remember her in The Days of Wine and Roses. It took me a month to come out of depression after watching that movie. God Bless her, what a beautiful lady.
A truly beautiful narration of a truly lovely lady. Jerry, from across the pond, I say a big fat thank you for your eulogy. Very well done sir.
I was born and raised in Quincy. The part when the narrator stated how she treated the people who worked at the department store and everyone else in Quincy was so true. I personally never met her, but her reputation was of the finest order.
I loved Lee and thought she was a wonderful actress loved her in the long hot summer she was such a tease died much to soon
Yes. A truly beautiful lady in every way. Randy helms
Your sincerity is as fine & touching as your voice. Many thanks, dear sir. You tell it so well. Lee Remick... RIP 🌷
I REALLY LOVED LEE REMICK AND SUSAN HAYWARD AS A YOUNG BOY GROWING UP IN THE 6O'S THANK YOU MR. SKINNER FOR THEIR STORIES AND THE WAY YOU PRESENT THEM VERY PROFESSIONAL !!!!!
Ron Young Love your comment. I Want To Live and The Days of Wine and Roses - what a combination. And Jerry is great. With you.
She had far above average beauty. That, coupled with her smarts and good work ethic, is what truly made her a star. IMHO.
Lee had that "special" quality that made her beautiful, inside and out. My favorite pictures were "Wild River," "The Days of Wine and Roses," and "The Omen." I think she was often underrated.

Tiffsaver: Oh, I don't think she was underrated. She was a big star when I was growing up. She sure had that special quality. Infectious.
@@ThePiratemachine
Perhaps not "underrated," but in the hierarchy of Hollywood stars, there is very little room at the top. How many Liz Taylor's and Julia Roberts were there in their day?? ONLY ONE.
Thanks, Jerry. That was a tough one. Cancer sucks!
Such a lovely lady ...thank you for doing this...I knew she passed with cancer but did not know much about the end of her life. So sad to end that way....I saw "Days of Wine and Roses" as a teen with my father who was a heavy drinker and was I terrified of alcoholism forever afterwards. He died the same year he took me to see that movie.People used to tell me I looked alot like her in my 20's and 30's and I guess I did...same coloring and general size and facial features. I never knew whether my father TOOK me to see to see that movie as as a caution or not. Needless to say I have been very very careful of alcohol my entire life and have now lived to a fairly ripe old age myself and very happily too I might add. She meant alot in my life....
This beautiful lady and actress died too young. I loved her acting and loved all of her movies. You are truly missed Lee Remick Rest In Peace ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘
All of these biographies are done so well. Thank you.
Lee Remick and my mother looked so much alike, I would always mention it to her. Watching this clip was ,like being with my Mom again. It was a lovely experience.
I really like the melancholy way the narrator tells the story. Its as if he knew her and is reminiscing.
An excellent production by Mr. Skinner. Tastefully and intelligently done showcasing the life and career of the beautiful and talented Lee Remick.
A very complete bio of Lee. Thank you so much Jerry for including Bill Colleran, the father of her children. He did love her so. I had the honor of working with Bill in the late 70's and early 80's. I got to meet his son once as he visited his dad at the studio we were doing a taping at. And after I knew Bill for a while he shared with me the story about that fateful night of the car accident ( a Thunderbird I think it was) leaving the Frank Sinatra party and how life had changed over the years for him. One summer's day I rebuilt the carburetor of his Buick as he was short on cash and I wanted to learn all about TV from him - seemed like a good trade! Thanks too for the great archival photos of Lee with Bill and their kids. I lost track of Bill when I left 'the biz' so thank you for telling that part of the story!
Thank you Jonathan, for telling us your personal story. It helps people to realize these are real humans living real human lives. Thank you again Jonathan. Jerry
After watching 30 seconds of Lee Remick in No Way to Treat a Lady almost 50years ago, I am still smitten. Her beauty seemed to emanate from deep in her soul.
Yeah, just look at those big, bulging biceps, especially on the right. She's a manly man alright!
@C. Michael ...Too much LSD and booze for you !
@C. Michael How dare you speak of my mother, sister or wife!
@@Lambchoppe53 Haven't had much - eh?
Very well done..Lee Remick was one of my very favorites..and so beautiful.
Ill never forget hearing a recording of her singing Anyone Can Whistle. It was heartbreakingly beautiful, sweet and guileless. Lee had that sort of quality. Thanks for this fine biography Mr Skinner
thank you for this. she was my late dad's favorite actress. whenever she came on the screen my dad was really captured by her beauty. me and my sister used to giggle at him while my mum smiled with tenderness. ..thank you Lee you enlightened my family s old days. And now I have beautiful memories.
Wonderful tribute to Lee Remick!! And your warm and personal narration is very good!
She had the most beautiful eyes!!
steinderbush Yes, her eyes were stunning.
She was a beautiful woman. Her eyes are soft and has a loving look in her eyes. The saying is your eyes are the mirror to your soul. Yes indeed she was a beautiful human being.
Everything about her sure hooked a teenage boy back in the 60s, ...Me...❤😢

@@micheletorimaru9348 Do not discount her physical charms!...She was hot.
Thank you Jerry. You have a voice that seems to flow with the read text beautifully. We often 'lose' the stars from our memory and you have a way of reminding us of what became of these Super Stars that just fade from the spotlight.
I was very surprised to learn that Lee Remick was only 55 when she died, a year younger than I am now. Not young but far from old. Lee Remick seems to have been able to avoid the pinup girl phase some actresses, such as Marilyn Monroe, went through. Miss Remick had a distinctive classiness about her; someone once referred to her as "patrician" and I agree. You can tell she was made for excellent, serious acting work.
Really touching Jerry. My wife died from breast cancer in December 1996, at 43. So it was especially sad for me to watch because I didn't know she had died this way.
Thanks Jerry Skinner, love your Bios. and appreciate all your work. Lee Remick was a wonderful actress and I didn't know her story until today. God Bless!
since I was a little kid in the 70's I have always loved lee remick.what a talented & beautiful actress she was.thanks for this nicely done video.
An excellent, and I mean excellent overview of the life of Lee Remick. I remember her fine performance in "The Days of Wine and Roses," which I saw in early 1963 in a theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Years later I saw her on television in "An Anatomy of a Murder," and was very impressed with her performance.
I saw her in the pre-Broadway tryout of "Agnes of God" in Boston. (She was replaced before Broadway by Elizabeth Ashley). Having admired her for years, I went to the stage door after the performance. She was in her mid-late 40s at the time, and absolutely stunning. I awkwardly told her how much I always admired her work; she thanked me and signed my program (as did Geraldine Page and Amanda Plummer). I still have the program! Classy lady, great actress, and gone way too soon at age 55. Thankfully she lives on in film.
Thank you for making this video about Lee Remick. You did a very informative documentary of her lifetime. A beautiful & great actress she was.
One of the great actresses; she always made it look so easy (and perhaps for her it was). Plus she was drop dead gorgeous with the most striking blue eyes.
I was a fan ever since I saw DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES on TV in the 1970s.
Lana Turner had this glitzy designer that she insisted make ALL her clothes and thus lost the choice role in Anatomy of a Murder. Thank God we got Lee! She was MESMERIZING. My parents saw her on Broadway in 'Wait Until Dark' and she was SPECTACULAR.
Very beautiful lady--such natural beauty.
Lee had that rare kind of beauty, that radiates confidence and sexiness too, but always in a subtle, classy way...I guess I should not judge her for leaving the father of her children, but I was kinda shocked to find that out about her...she seemed so grounded and happy at the time...but I guess the English dude and her both were unhappy concerning their marriages...so they fell for each other.
So nice to hear a real voice narrating the story --thanks Mr. Skinner.
Lily Tyler
Mr Skinner docos are the best😊
I know he will be happy to hear you like his voice. I personally can't stand it. I keeps me from watching this little bios.
Lola Jordan the way Jerry puts “and “ in the year is unique and annoying 🤷♀️
@@Garrysullivanjones ...i got used to it.....and then I liked it...maybe southern or mid west?
Wonderfully done. My mother had to take medicine that made her bloat too. So, sad, I still remember wanting to take my mother's picture and she just wouldn't have it. Her illness and medicine took my mother's wanting to live away. You did a great telling of her life and career and she would of been proud.
Went in to Remicks as a teenager to look at all the beautiful things. My cousin bought Revlon peacock blu eye shadow at the makeup counter and I was mesmerized- during the 70’s that was a huge deal. Remicks was always a magical store in Quincy. A big part of my growing up.
I grew up watching her on t.v. and in the movies. She had the most beautiful eyes and smile, and such a presence on screen. Even as a little boy I would just be in awe of her talent and beauty. May she R.I.P.
Lee Remick, class act great actress..
With all the things going on in day-t-day life and the world situation goin to pieces it seems, I had forgotten about how absolutely beautiful Lee Remick was.
I first saw her in Days of Wine and Roses at 17. If you know the story you will understand the impact on someone with alcoholic parents. Lee's characters' name was Kirsten. I pledged to myself if I ever had a daughter her name would be Kirsten. I do and she is. Lee Remick's acting ability was uncompromised.
Blimey ! Another top notch video, Marvelous Mr Skinner ! The beautiful and talented Ms Remick was one of my favorite actresses. A terrible shame that she left us so soon. Bless her heart. And bless you too, Mr S, for your entertaining & informative videos !!
Great bio. I had forgotten how lovely she was. Thanks for reminding us.
Thank you Jerry. Beautifully presented and sensitively narrated.
I always loved her performances. Thank you for a wonderful story of Lee Remick.
A real hard working actress that took her work serious,..not like these young clowns today..
Amen to that....natural Beauty
Very interesting and moving Jerry. What I really like is how you relate all the aspects of people's lives in such a respectful manner. And of course your wonderful speaking voice.
Really well done Mr. Skinner. Your presentation is a beautiful tribute to a much-loved actress. Thoughtfully presented, emotionally riveting.
I love this--brought me to tears. I have always loved Lee Remick, one of my all time favorite actresses. She was not only beautiful, she was a fabulous actress. I just recently discovered "Experiment in Terror" with Glenn Ford, on a Movies channel--great film. You did a wonderful job telling her life and I learned a lot I didn't know. Thank you, Jerry!
Another superb video by Jerry. Lee was such a beautiful and natural actress.
A stunningly beautiful woman and a brilliant actress too... But the one film that I will always remember her for....ls The Omen
Yes Omen great but Days of Wine and Roses her best work!!
I grew up enjoying watching her on TV and in movies. I still enjoy watching her in reruns. She looked so natural in every role she played that I noticed her talent over her beauty. She was so beautiful too. I never heard about her battle with cancer and her untimely death. I will miss her. Rest In Peace, Lee Remick. You are loved by your fans.
Thank you (once again) Jerry for a moving documentary. Lee was a beautiful and talented actress with the most gorgeous eyes. Appreciate all your work, Jerry : you give us senior movie-goers so many memories.
RIP Beautiful Lee Anne Remick!! You were a terrific Hollywood actress!!! And you are gone too soon before your time, a lot of your fans really miss you!!!!💛💛💛💛💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙💟💟💟💟❤❤❤❤💜💜💜💜
She was a beautiful woman!!!!
I love your work!! Thank you
Thank you Jerry, that was a wonderful Bio and was very educational about Lee Remick.
I LOVED her as the courageous piano teacher in "The Competition"... she played a VERY powerful, strong personality of a world class pianist and teacher PERFECTLY... SOOOO many great pianist adore this film... and her as well...
I always enjoyed Lee Remick's performances over the years. Had no idea she died at such a young age. Thanks for sharing Jerry!
She was a beautiful, class act and I have loved her ever since I was a child. Children know what's good!
I had no idea about Lee's life after having met her in Cape Cod, Mass. My husband and I used to stay at a lovely little cottage/rooming house in Hyannis, and that is where we met. I can't recall which husband she was with but the year was around 1958/59. She was a lovely and beautiful person and had no airs about being a movie star. Watching this short little video about Lee brought back so many memories.
A very classy lady ! R I P ,Lee
Lee Remick was quite lovely!
Yes, Jack Lemmon is my favourite actor, too. Bless his soul. Lee Remick is so beautfiful. She surely must have had a heart of gold, those eyes are eyes of an angel. Bless her soul. Thank you, Sir for a sincere narrative.
For me, that heart of gold was tarnished, when she left her husband for a married British guy...she did not seem like the type to do that.
My nickname is Lee, and yes, I always liked her! "Days of Wine and Roses" is one of my favorite films ever!
I know it's about Lee but Face in the Crowd is a amazing movie and shows how fantastic an actor Andy Griffith was. Very, very, underrated!
Elijah, i fully agree about Andy Griffith. Jerry
Jerry...this piece was wonderful...the music, the images, the cross fades and of course your mos excellent narration....thank you for your work....David Ison
I just finished watching Anatomy of Murder. I was so impressed with Lee Remick's performance, I wanted to find out more about her career. I loved all that I read. So sad that she died at 55 years.
She was so gorgeous!
Watching one of her old flickers today.. You have a great narrating voice, Jerry ! Remind me so much of my late father-in-law..keep 'em coming !
She was a lovely actress. i remember her in films from my childhood (1970´s). I love her and recognize her picture anywhere. Yes, I do know she is long gone to the other side. She has such a lovely face and her spirit was so captivating on the screen. Who does not remember Lee Remick? Great narration, thank you. A pleasure to listen to you, Sir.
I am sorry to say, I was never familiar with Lee Remick, but thanks to Mr. Skinner and his excellent and outstanding videos, I feel I know allot more of her. She was definitely a beautiful lady and soooo sad to hear that "STINKING, SUCKING, SHIT" cancer took her life. I have been fighting it for the past 12 years... RIP Lee!!!
Thank you once again Mr. Skinner!!!
A pure beauty and great actress... Thank you for another mesmerizing video Mr. Skinner.

Rangersly. I totally agree. Lee Remick was one of my favourite actresses. A great star and a beautiful woman.
Thank you Jerry! You such a fabulous job. One of my favorite movies is days of Wine And Roses. Such a beautiful actress. Keep doing what you do so well.
Claudia
I had the pleasure of working with Miss Remick on a Reynold paper plate commercial in the 70's. She was a lovely woman. What wasn't covered in this fine biopic is the fact that Remick was exposed to radiation fallout while filming Halleluhea Trail in Coyote Canyon, NM. It was only 50 miles from Alamogordo where numerous a-bomb tests were detonated during the Manhattan project. Kidney and other cancers were visited on many actors that filmed in desert areas where fallout occurred. In later years when this trend became obvious, it was suspected that this was the originating cause of her cancer.
Nice job Jerry. Lee was always a favorite of mine and I enjoyed the way you told her story. Thank you.
I always thought her to be a good actress...always pretty. I've seen some of her movies, yet in all of them, "The Days of Wine and Roses" leads the group. Thanks, again, Jerry. Keep them coming.
