  • While there are many ways to squirrel away food for later, one of the most old-fashioned options is fermentation. However, this method is often shrouded in mystery... Is it really safe? What if it tastes weird? What if you don't have a root cellar? How do fermented foods compare to probiotics?
Wild fermentation revivalist Jamie Powell joins me in this podcast episode to answer all these questions and more!

I received my planner for 2024…I’m so excited! I spent the morning making it my own with month, garden, sourdough, and farm tabs. I love it thank you for doing this for us.

Jill's fermented pickle video is my all time favorite. It got me hooked on just fermenting pickles. I later transfer them to a 50-50 brine of white vinegar and water and refrigerate them. Then they keep fresh and crisp. Hopefully the insides keep their probiotic life since I pickle them whole.
I also use the hot peppers from the original pickle brine for fermented hot pepper sauce.
And you can make Saur Kraut in the Winter since cabbage is always available in the stores.
    YUM! 😋

I really really love many topics and content of your podcasts..but they are usually way to long ..I don’t have time to watch 45 minutes to 1 hour of a video ..I wish you would consider posting shorter videos..perhaps more people would tune in ..

This is a filmed version of her podcast. You could listen rather than watch and still get the content while doing other things if you are busy. Most podcasts are typically an hour long. You are essentially asking someone to adjust their entire process to suit your needs. Why would you do that to a creator, expect them to accommodate you and you alone?

I don't always get to listen all in one shot, gives me something to look forward to. I also usually listen to each podcast more than once ; D I don't pay for Spotify but can listen to this podcast for free anyway. I still like to tune into UA-cam and watch/listen.
