I would love to see a video on the Colt M/29 heavy machine gun. As I understand it, it was originally ordered in 7.92x57mm Mauser, but soon rechambered in the new Norwegian 7.92x61mm (Tung), and this wasn't accomplished immediately. Were the old French Hotchkiss machine guns chambered in 7.92 Mauser, or did they use 6.5x55mm like the Krag rifles and the Madsen M/22 light machine guns? IIRC, the Swedes also had a separate machine gun cartridge with a longer casing.
if i remember corectly i read somewhere that the last picture they could find of rikstanken was on the deck of Tirpitz. i can not find the picture or where i read it so might not be true. but tought it could be intresting.
If that where the case it would be very intresting. I have not heard about that in my research. Possibly me being sloppy or it not being widespread! if you find a picture please let me know! (Might update the video in the future!)
No idea really, i would have loved to see Norway further develop their own tanks. I created a Alt history Norway where they did. If you are intrested the tanks are here : the-northern-shield-alternate-timeline.fandom.com/wiki/-List_Of_Armored_Vehicles-
Was it really called "Kongestanken" and not "Kongstanken"? The first one can be misunderstood as "The King's stench". Maybe the term "kongstanke"(a primary/driving idea) is a modern spelling?
You are correct, it was Kongstanken not Kongestanken. Apologies for the mistake on my part! I probably took if from its other nickname "Norgestanken" and accidently mixed the pronunciation!
While this is well made, it just goes to show you should keep the civilian government far away from the defense of the country, they are more dangerous than any external enemy could ever be, as history showed many a time 🤣
Your 3d render is so cool
Underrated as hell
Randomly popped into my feed when I was just thinking about this tank a few days ago. Crazy lol. Great render btw

Håper virkelig dette blir ett låvefunn en dag, tidenes låvefunn isåfall.

I wonder if Norway was emulating the early WWII US Marmon Herrington CTLS with this prototype? Thanks for posting, merry xmas 😊

Was the armour cars really armoured? I've heard the armour was plywood.
Indeed they were. Panserbil 21,22 and 23 all relatively thin armor. If it was steel or iron i do not know.

Thanks for sharing! I never even thought about Norway having armor. Maybe it'll show up in War Thunder some day :P
Glad you enjoyed! Maybe! The Swedish Prototype AA with the Second hull is already in the game :)
It was a cute little “Donald Duck” tank.
Veldig interessant. Bra jobbet
Takker!
Dad's army🤣
there is no royal in the norwegan army. only navy and airforce.

War machines are designed mostly by civil engineers who take specialty courses before tucking in to the military contracts.
