just subscribed to your channel. I’m in pharmacy, technician school and soon will start my practial in a hospital. I’m just so super excited and nervous.
Hi new techie 🤩 and yay that’s exciting!! I understand how nervous you could be too, but you got this. Keep me posted on and I’m here if you have any questions
Hi Drica!! Thank you so much for providing me pros and cons about working at a hospital as a certified pharmacy technician. I’m bound to work at a hospital soon 😊
I just passed my PTCB exam. Currently work for CVS, it’ll be a year next month. I think it’s time for me to move onto something else. I hate retail pharmacy. I really want to work in a hospital but I’m a bit nervous. Do you have any advice that you can give? It would be greatly appreciated.
Hey techie!! so I understand how you're nervous I was too! first do you know what kind of hospital pharmacy you would want to work at? Inpatient hospital or outpatient. Now outpatient is just like retail pharmacy just in a hospital. Once you find that out I would just start applying everywhere, and if you are not 100% sure about working hospital they even have prn shifts available too, you could apply to just to get the feel of working and possibly move up to full-time. :D
I got my first hospital job as Acute pharmacy technician… I am excited n scared at the same time.. because I don’t have any experience retail or hospital. My experience in Pharmacy benefit manager.
As a retail pharmacy technician, I want to transfer to being in a hospital. I am already on my feet 8 hours a day, and will be a tech for two years in October. Retail just doesn't do it for me anymore. Recently I just interviewed for a cancer center, which is similar to a hospital, hope I get the job there ❤
Hello techieee:D how is studying going so far? I love Mosby books and also medical prep app. Also recommend doing a lot of practice test. On the PTCB website they have a mock exam you could take but there are free practice exams online too :D
Hey techie! Ooh yes! Some of the changes I’ve noticed would be like, receiving medication order. The filling process on the hand held is a little different but nothing too serious 😀
Heyy girl! How is the hospital about drug testing? I know they drug test before you get the job.. but with this being medicine do you get drug tested a lot?
Hey girly! So I never been randomly drug tested, but being a new employee you do have to get drug tested. If you take any medication that can interfere with the test I would let them know but besides that it’s only one test 😀
I’m not necessarily sure if that’s really a thing lol our hospital has one though, basically we work in the OR help the anesthesia techs, load medication prior to surgeries
Apparently it is a thing. Northside hospital has one. They don’t have an official name of the position. Yesterday I just got the job offer to work there and they explained that they work on the surgical side of the pharmacy. Thus they work with surgeons/anesthesiologist to supply their orders and/or if there’s an immediate demand of medications on the spot, they take care of it. I only know the surface level of it but that’s the gist of it.
Mam plz rply i did diploma in pharmacy without maths from India can i get job in canda without taking any course or exam or We have to give the exam iam going on spouse visa plz tell what job i get there nd how much they paid
Hey hey! So for Canada, they’re stating you would have to had completed a pharmacy tech course and pass their version for the PTCB exam which is called PEBC Here’s a link for more information 😀 www.ocpinfo.com/registration/register-technician/#:~:text=In%20order%20to%20practice%20as,are%20several%20pathways%20to%20registration.
