Lenny Henry, English comedian, actor, and writer, and Michael Jackson, American singer-songwriter, producer, dancer, and actor (The Jackson 5), were both born on this day 66 years ago. Happy Birthday!
#LOL, this parody is earning almost 1,900,000 worldwide views!!!!!!!!! Currently, Lenny Henry and the late Michael Joseph Jackson are approaching their 64th birthdays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back in the 1980s and 90s and even until relatively recently, Lenny Henry was a respected public figure. He had some great comedy characters (Theophilus P. Wildebeeste, Delbert Wilkins, Deakus etc.), appeared in other popular comedy productions, and some of his parody music was actually good music in its own right ( ua-cam.com/video/rEijph7t5S8/v-deo.html ). He didn't make it to the top in terms of TV and movie acting, but built up an impressive portfolio. He began his career with the usual embarrassments that all young artists suffer and played a number of questionable racial stereotypes (Zulu warrior, Fu Manchu etc.) that would have killed any career today, but those were less identity obsessed and fake-outraged days. Then, Lenny graduated to classical theatre with his critically acclaimed Othello while continuing to host the Red Nose charity that he had founded. All in all, a career and reputation to be proud of. Lenny was always quite safe and inoffensive. He never risked addressing controversial issues or made me laugh out loud, like Bill Burr. However, he was a much loved British household name. However, then, Lenny got woke, whiney and menopausal. He criticised the charity that he founded and its donors, the industry that made him wealthy, majority white open air concerts, and white British culture in general for being allegedly systemically racist. It seems that when non-white celebrities stop getting the work and public recognition they crave, the race card and victimhood are just too tempting to resist.
I remember seeing this when it first aired on Three of a Kind, and it was absolutely brilliant. Its still really funny, and the sketch from that show I remember the best.

Thriller but it's Opposite Day.
This is a surprisingly well produced parody. Thriller was the most expensive music video ever made. To parody it must have been expensive too.
Anurania at that time, it WAS the most expensive music video ever
Actually Michael is still at the top his video scream with his sis Janet. scream is the most expensive music video ever made, Still to this day.
Lenny & the BBC spent a fraction of what Jackson & Co. did on the original, but both vids look exactly the same.

Now _this_ is a parody. Not some unloyal crappy poorly written and sung song about 16-bit squares.
And Michael himself loved it and was launching hysterically at it
His mom at the very end looks like Oprah Winfrey does in real life.
I loved this when it was first shown in the 80s. It was very funny back then!

Me too. Not sure why people say Lenny isn’t funny, I loved all his stuff.
I can’t believe those undead folks bothered and asking Michael for his autograph.

Looooool! Fantastic, Lenny at his very best back in the 80's. Tune aint bad either!
He was born the same day as Michael #Coincidence
Excellent, yet disturbing: The zombies' faces look more alike to the corpses' real ones you see in forensics exhumations than MJ's ones...
