Great review and comparisons. I'm not in china and was looking to get upgrade my lenovo Legion Y70 gaming phone for something a bit more powerful for gaming and emulation. Luckily I don't suffer from eye strain and was looking at the Neo 9S Pro Plus (SD gen 3 version) mainly as it felt like it was very similar to the Neo10 just with a better 50MP ultrawide camera. But i wonder do you think think the Neo10 is a maybe the better option due to the other upgrades over the Neo 9S Pro Plus (f-print, battery, display etc) baring in mind they is only a $10 price difference between them on Aliexpress?
i still feel like the Neo10 will likely be more worth it. bigger battery is one thing, but it also has charging bypass which is quite useful when gaming for longer periods of time. both of these will help the battery last longer in the long run. the display for the neo9spro+ should be the same panel as the neo9s pro i had, and even aside from eyestrain, i feel like the quality of the display is noticeably better in terms of the viewing angles and colours. for the ultrawide angle camera, the 50MP does look a bit better, but to me at least, the difference isn't big enough to be worth the other tradeoffs. especially when it's likely a sensor that will see a lot less usage. 😅
@@axhng Thanks man, that's really helpful. I think you are probably right, I actually will not use the cameras much at all as it wont even be my main phone 😂 I have a oneplus 12 as my main phone. So it will almost exclusively just be used for gaming and a few media/social apps. But I may use it as a backup phone in case mine breaks, but like you say the ultrawide camera rarely gets used too much anyway and I think the battery / display / f-print / Bypass improvements will be far more noticeable day to day and for games.
😅unfortunately haven't really been testing any audio stuff in quite some time already. my favourite is still the Nicehck EB2S for earbuds, and for TWS i've been usnig Moondrop's Space travel for over a year now and still happy with it.
Thank you, thank for you short but completely presentation. Is bypass charge on iqoo neo 10 presented only for your country or area? Is bypass charge include (I mean - is bypass charge a factory setting) on iqoo neo 10?
hi there. the bypass charging is part of the "Ultra Game Mode" instead of being in the settings. but, any app can be added into ultra game mode from what I can see. I was able to add apps like geekbench and antutu into that game mode for example. So if you want to use other apps with charging bypass, it is probably possible to do so. I didn't really get to test that before i got rid of the phone though.
do you mean the Z9 Turbo+? if so then Neo10 is better in almost every way imo. the larger battery on the Z9 Turbo+ didn't feel much better than the Neo10 when it comes to battery life to me. While performance is similar, Neo10 has charging bypass, UFS 4.1. Screen looks noticeably better on the Neo10 + it has ultrasonic sensor, the haptics, speakers, are noticeably better to me as well, and build quality is better too. unless the Z9 Turbo+ is a lot cheaper than the Neo10, i wouldn't bother with it unless you need LTPS and DC-like Dimming for all brightness for some reason, you want a lighter phone, or you want android auto support (it shows up in settings after updating to originOS 5, not sure if it works properly or not though since i don't drive).
at least according to the info on their website. they call the feature 直驱供电, which translates to "direct-drive power supply". i don't have the equipment or know how to actually test this though. like take out the back cover, connect the battery to a power monitoring equipment while it's is plugged in with this feature turned on (don't even know if this is even possible) to see how how much power is going to the battery and how much to the SOC. but in my usage at least, the phone does feel like it's not heating up as much compared to when the feature is off and the battery is being charged. though i personally suspect that some power is probably still going to the battery since when you turn on this feature, they explainer they gave is "The charger prioritizes powering the device, significantly reducing the charging speed of the battery to prevent heating during charging."

I've not tried K80 and HyperOS so can't say for sure, but from comparisons I've seen on bilibili, people do still feel that OriginOS is more stable and smoother still. Personally i feel like they really are quite similar overall in terms of value, and both seems like good value. K80 has a bit more hardware features, but in return is also more expensive. so i feel like both are probably good options in this price range. Anyway in the end after trying a bunch of SD8Gen3 phones, most of them do tend to provide a similar enough experience. so just going with what you are more curious about is probably fine. like for me i decided to try neo10 over k80 because it was cheaper, i prioritise gaming performance more, and i like the design more.😅though because my eyes are just too sensitive to PWM dimming, it ended up not working out.

over here in SG, they are priced similarly, so i'll personally go with Neo10 for sure. Same chip and fingerprint sensor, but Neo10 has larger battery, charging bypass feature, a nicer looking screen (that also causes less eyestrain for me), UFS 4.1, Q2 gaming chip (though might not be that useful outside of China), and it's newer, so longer support. the charging bypass feature also means that if you game a lot on your phone, it can reduce heat and the amount of charging cycles on the battery, helping it last longer too.
Planning to buy this phone, can you suggest an app i can use to easily transfer or clone my contacts, call logs, sms, photos, apps etc? My old phone is a huawei btw
iqoo has an app called easyshare for file transfer. i know it's available in the play store for other android phones too. though apps might not transfer over though. i've used that on a global poco phone and had to manually reinstall apps, likely because the iQOO is running a CN rom.
i haven't tested the 13R so can't say for sure, but specs wise they are quite similar so probably just down to personal preference. like if you prefer metal body, global OxygenOS, then 13R. if you want something cheaper, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, has charging bypass feature for gaming, and you don't mind using CN OriginOS, then neo10? performance wise i feel like no matter how much they claim they have optimised stuff, SD8Gen3 is still SD8Gen3, so there shouldn't be a ton of differences in the end. but if you're using the phone outside of China, i would still recommend going for global phones and ROM if possible for less hassle. another option could even be the older OnePlus 12 if you don't mind curved screen. if it goes on discount, it could be a more appealing option than the 13R with less compromises like USB 2.0 port for example. also, here in SG, the price of the 13R is actually much higher than the cost of a Neo10 Pro on online shopping platforms, and if gaming performance is more important, the latest generation of chips is a big upgrade over last gen's SD8 Gen3 🤣
@axhng I'm in India, 13r is releasing in a few days, there is no news of neo 10 launching date here but expecting it to be launching late January/early February. Thanks for the advice
thanks for the suggestion, though i'm probably not buying that since i have no interest in the phone. any phone using SD8 Elite or D9400 but without USB 3.2 with display out support immediately loses my interest unless it is really cheap. 😅 doesn't help that in Singapore, it's cheaper to buy an iQOO 13 with better hardware overall from shopping sites like shopee compared to a Redmi K80 Pro at this point in time. by the time prices drop for the phone, the global xiaomi 15 series might be out already 😂
@@axhng yeah, good point. but K80 Pro has 3x tele which exactly the one xiaomi 15 has. that's a bummer that k80 Pro doesn't have 3.0+ USB out another thing k80 Pro does''t have is LTPO screen. but I am not sure how many people will actually this display feature. so if you had to buy a flagship killer phone which one would you pick? or do you have any other suggestion?
@@home.we46 yeah. that telephoto with macro capabilities is something i really like on xiaomi devices. but the lack of display out really sucks to me since being able to use display out literally lets me enjoy games in a new way on the iQOO 13 when I was using it. and 8 Elite can absolutely handle that, whereas on 8gen3, the processor will still heat up too much and will still have more stutters when I max out graphics settings. If i'm going to pay more for the 8 Elite chip, i want to be able to really make use of it whenever i feel like it. i know some folks will want LTPO for perhaps Always On Display features, but personally i don't really care if it's LTPS or LTPO. the battery savings it would bring is usually insignificant and the thing that actually affects overall battery life is just battery capacity. Not to mention that for those sensitive to refresh rate changes, LTPO if poorly implemented might actually make the phone feel less smooth if the way they ramp up or ramp down the refresh rate isn't tuned well. personally... iQOO 13 if it didn't have the QC issue with the body clicking on my unit, and didn't cause me eyestrain, would have been my ideal flagship killer, since I don't care as much about camera performance. but for now, aside keeping an eye out for OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15's global release, i'm keeping an eye out for the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro which should be launched next week in China. hopefully it has USB 3.2 with display out (though i think it's highly likely it might not). 🤣
nice review bro, i have a question, if i use external cooler will it be able to hold sustainable performance? i wanna buy this phone from bangladesh, i wanna do gaming and live stream on it, there are no good phones avaibale in my country in this price range, should i go for neo 10? or wait for another phone?
thanks! i think it would depend on the game since streaming through the phone will likely tax the processor more too. not sure how much though since i don't steam. but for heavier games, probably will need to drop the graphics quite a bit. like for Honkai star rail at max graphics, even when the phone is cool there are areas where the game will still drop framerates simply because it's too much for processor. same goes for like certain areas in zenless zone zero. my guess is that some of these games are just too demanding on single core performance, which isn't amazing last gen processors. it's only with SD8 Elite that the single core performance massively improved. i think at this price range, it's probably one of the only option that has bypass charging, which will be very helpful for live streaming... but i think probably just wait and see what OnePlus Ace5 offers first? i think it should be annoucing in China soon.
@@axhng thanks bro. but one plus price wil be very much high in my country, i will play pubg and warone mobile or pubg new state mobile or game for peace for live stream and sometimes i will play genshin or other heavy games. thats why right now i am confused should i purchase this one or not. but overall i like this phone. living in a curse country where every phone price is very high due to dollar crisis and officially launched phone prices are very very very much high.😢
@@batsoupp if gaming performance is important to you and you have the budget, iQOO 13. SD8 Elite is a massive upgrade over 8 Gen 3 when playing more intensive games. Since a lot of games in the global market won’t be able to take full advantage of the gaming chip, the main SoC itself becomes more important. Plus it has usb 3.2 with display output. Which gives more options for gaming. Plus better speakers, haptics, camera (slightly), ip rating. If you’re on a tighter budget… I feel like just getting any SD8Gen3 phone or D9300+ will give the similar experience. Unless you’re specially looking for a brand new phone with good screen, big battery, and charging bypass. 😂
Iqoo 13 or iqoo neo 10(SD 8gen 3) which display is best for eyes. I have short sight, i am using eye glasses. My current phone is poco f1 it's have LCD display have more eye strain.so i need a eye care, less eye strain display. So which should i buy iqoo 13 or neo 10 please answered me🙏
hmm. i think the display on the neo10 is better for my eyes over the iQOO 13, but then it depends. different ppl might be sensitive to different things. if you're having eye stain even with an LCD screen then it might not be due to PWM flickering from OLED screens, and there is a chance that changing phones won't fix it. Like for example if you have presbyopia, that could cause eye strain too no matter what phone you're using. I recommend checking for that first.
hmm. not sure about that, but in my case at least the neo10's screen looks better for me. but QC could be a reason for sure since they tend to cut corners in that regard when ti comes to cheaper phones. or it could be preference for colours too since neo9's screen is a bit cooler and more saturated which some may prefer.
@@Donaldbark unfortunately it’ll probably be quite unlikely for me to buy that phone since after trying a bunch of phones in this price range with the same chips, they all feel so similar in terms of performance that I feel like the experience will likely be similar anyway.😅 in the end it’s just down to which one looks more appealing to you. Like whether you prefer realme UI or originOS, whether battery size is more important, or you prefer faster charging and charging bypass. Whether you want ultrasonic sensor or not. Whether you can live with a slightly heavier phone, etc.
@@axhng Thanks for your reply! I'm interested in Origin OS because I heard it's very light and fast. I use a Realme GT Neo 3 with 150W fast charging, so 80W on the Realme Neo 7 feels slower. iQOO phones seem very powerful and well optimized in terms of software,But idk if how many Software support in the iqoos phones specally the neo series. I read that their cameras are better than the Sony IMX 882 in the Realme neo 7. I play games and casual photography and I prefer smooth 4k 60fps video recording since My Neo 3 can shoot up to 4k 60fps but the stabilization is suck but in 1080p 60 fps it gives some stabilization and it work well for me. Faster charging, a better camera, and the newest Android 15 would be an upgrade. I also want to try Origin OS!!! Please tell me if it's true that Origin Os are light and optimize and less bugs. 🙏🗣️
@@Donaldbark hmm. I'm actually not sure if i would consider it to be light, but having used originOS 4 on the Neo9S Pro as my main phone for 4-5 months, it is smooth and generally don't have any major bugs. However, there were some minor compatibility issue with some global apps, like how for some apps like adidas runtastic, it is impossible get a persistent lockscreen notification to show my current progress when jogging, when i'm using the app on OriginOS. or in telegram, the text input field would just become transparent once in a while and i would need to restart the app. that is easily fixable by switching to telegram x, but it is still some inconvenience and not sure if other global apps might have other issues or not. Afterall, originOS was made only for the Chinese market, which means that sometimes random things like this might occur. same goes for realme UI too of course for their Chinese variant, it's just that I've not tried that before so can't comment much on it. but having used CN colorOS and HyperOS too, I do feel like those 2 are a little more accommodating for the global market, since unlike iqoo/vivo, their global rom probably shares more things with their CN rom. the cameras would probably be an upgrade over the GT Neo 3 for both of them, just because they're newer, but I wouldn't expect too much though since both are not really focused on photography. they might put in decent camera sensors, but they definitely will not give their mid range devices the same processing capabilities as their more expensive phones, or phones from their sister brands, like OPPO, and vivo. but not sure if realme UI is like ColorOS or not and doesn't have a manual video mode, but i do appreciate how originOS has that built into the camera app. software update i think should be fine for the Chinese side seeing that even the Z9 turbo+ i tried was already updated to originOS 5. if you visit their chinese OriginOS site, they have a planned timeline for their other devices too and i see even the Neo6 on that list. just that it'll take longer before getting updated. but yeah, not to put a damper or what not, but while I do really like OriginOS (you can tell by how many iQOO phones I've been trying), I feel like some fans of the OS has been hyping it a bit too much and ignoring some of the potential downsides. it'll work for some ppl, but might not for others. 😅 Personally though, I would just wait another week to see what OnePlus Ace 5 offer first.

hmm. when i installed the game I remember seeing the Ultra frame rate option, but didn't actually play the game even once before I got rid of it since it was still causing me some eyestrain. so unfortunately, i'm not a 100% sure on this and can't test it out anymore.
hmm. if you're not as sensitive to the display or weight of the phone, iQOO 12 is more well-rounded i think. performance is similar, build quality is nicer, and camera performance is way better. however, if not, the larger batter and bypass charging is probably worth going Neo10 for better gaming experience. nicer screen and ultrasonic sensor too.
Neo10, but it's just for the charging bypass feature imo. it'll help the battery last longer since it will run less hot and use less charging cycles. though performance wise, if you're using it outside of china, the gaming chip likely won't make much of a difference and after testing a handful of SD8G3 and D9300+ phones, they all kinda perform similarly. the screen is also better on the neo10, so if you game and stare at the screen more, having a nicer screen will improve the experience.
@@ijlibg7061 yeah. the 9s pro+ has the same chip and ultrasonic sensor too, but was just saying in general that most phones with Sd8gen3 and d9300+ are really similar in the end. if there are small differences, it's mostly to how each brand "tunes" their performance. and between those two, the Neo10 has an edge because of the reasons i mentioned earlier. charging bypass, better quality screen, and well, slightly larger battery too. if the pricing are similar, i think there's no reason to go for the neo9 series anymore considering the screen isn't that good for eye strain. in regards to benchmark scores, i wouldn't care about that since even for the same exact phone model, different reviewers might get different results depending on a multitude of factors. like their test location temperature, whether the phones are being cooled (and how, since i know some will even just put the entire phone into a freezer to get higher benchmarks scores), and every chip might have variance too. some higher bin chips might perform better, and some lower bin ones might perform a bit worse. pretty much like CPU chips. but in the end, in actual gaming where the chips won't be pushed as hard as in benchmarks, those minor variations will not matter as much, which is why i mentioned like there isn't a huge difference. well, as long as the conditions are similar since a SD8Gen3 in a smaller phone with poorer heat dissipation won't perform as well.

@@axhng will you review Oneplus 13?
nice review bro, i have a question, if i use external cooler will it be able to hold sustainable performance? i wanna buy this phone from bangladesh, i wanna do gaming and live stream on it, there are no good phones avaibale in my country in this price range, should i go for neo 10? or wait
for another phone?
thanks! i think it would depend on the game since streaming through the phone will likely tax the processor more too. not sure how much though since i don't steam. but for heavier games, probably will need to drop the graphics quite a bit. like for Honkai star rail at max graphics, even when the phone is cool there are areas where the game will still drop framerates simply because it's too much for processor. same goes for like certain areas in zenless zone zero. my guess is that some of these games are just too demanding on single core performance, which isn't amazing last gen processors. it's only with SD8 Elite that the single core performance massively improved.
i think at this price range, it's probably one of the only option that has bypass charging, which will be very helpful for live streaming... but i think probably just wait and see what OnePlus Ace5 offers first? i think it should be annoucing in China soon.
How's Hindu gen o cide going on in Bangladesh
hi what would you suggest, this or the iqoo 13?
@@axhngThank you 😍👍
Welcome back
Sir what's the IP rating of iqoo 10?
there is no mention of IP rating for the Neo10 iirc
Sir Can you still touch the screen if your finger is wet?
May palm is sweating that's why I asked about it.. Hahaha
Why does neo 9's display look better than of neo 10?
hmm. not sure about that, but in my case at least the neo10's screen looks better for me. but QC could be a reason for sure since they tend to cut corners in that regard when ti comes to cheaper phones. or it could be preference for colours too since neo9's screen is a bit cooler and more saturated which some may prefer.
Please review realme neo 7, I'm undecided between the iqoo neo 10 or the realme neo 7 😪
@@Donaldbark unfortunately it’ll probably be quite unlikely for me to buy that phone since after trying a bunch of phones in this price range with the same chips, they all feel so similar in terms of performance that I feel like the experience will likely be similar anyway.😅
in the end it’s just down to which one looks more appealing to you.
Personally though, I would just wait another week to see what OnePlus Ace 5 offer first.

Does mlbb run 120fps in this phone?
hmm. when i installed the game I remember seeing the Ultra frame rate option, but didn't actually play the game even once before I got rid of it since it was still causing me some eyestrain. so unfortunately, i'm not a 100% sure on this and can't test it out anymore.
@axhng please next test realme neo 7 and see if mlbb run on 120fps or not
4g or 5g
Iqoo 12 or this?
hmm. if you're not as sensitive to the display or weight of the phone, iQOO 12 is more well-rounded i think. performance is similar, build quality is nicer, and camera performance is way better. however, if not, the larger batter and bypass charging is probably worth going Neo10 for better gaming experience. nicer screen and ultrasonic sensor too.
Hi Alex 😊
Iqoo neo 9s pro plus or iqoo neo 10 5g , for gaming , all i care is gaming
Neo10, but it's just for the charging bypass feature imo. it'll help the battery last longer since it will run less hot and use less charging cycles. though performance wise, if you're using it outside of china, the gaming chip likely won't make much of a difference and after testing a handful of SD8G3 and D9300+ phones, they all kinda perform similarly. the screen is also better on the neo10, so if you game and stare at the screen more, having a nicer screen will improve the experience.
@@axhng ok , but it weird that they advertised the iqoo neo 9s pro plus having more anutu score than iqoo neo 10.
@@axhng im talking about china versions btw and it's iqoo neo 9s pro plus not iqoo neo 9s pro
@@axhng ok , I'm gonna get the neo 10 soon.
if you are indoors then the nits dont really matter try working outside you're gonna need every nits to see things through.
yes just like my z9 turbo which has 4,500 nits, as bright as the sun 😂
