there are few not really intended mechanics, but he really plays it very well (all that pixel aiming takes A LOT of practice just to remember them all). i love how he talks about it and goes through the whole speed run explaining and giving some trivia. this should be titles "how to speed run without breaking the game and make it interesting to watch and listen" ps. bonus points for "crowd" behind cheering for some small victories
My favourite type of speedrun honestly, where you don't abuse ridiculous glitches and bugs to skip half the content, but instead play extremely well very fast. For this reason 100% glitcheless is my favourite category for any game as it's simply a showcase of skill as the developers intended.
One of my favourite things watching this video is watching the moustached guy to the left to see when he smiles and applauds because then I know when to smile and applaud
This is insane. I played this game as a kid extensively and I understand amount of RNG in it. And pixel perfect manipulation of launches and explosions is insane... Great job.
I used to stay up all night on the weekends playing this online with 56k dial-up while I was in high school. The music and ambience brought back so many memories. Excellent game and a great run. Thank you!
came for the handsome runner, stayed for the said handsome runner's very explanatory commentary. i've always been an avid fan of speedrunning ever since ive discovered its existence, however this is the first time ive actually wanted to speedrun a game from watching it being done. this looks super fun!
Man this is a blast from the past. I played this game with my cousins all the time on a single computer in PVP. Sometimes there were some awesome clutch moves but in general we loved the Holy Hand Grenades.
Amazing run and amazing runner! Thanks to RuffledBricks for providing such great commentary throughout the entire run while blitzing through levels that took me hours as a kid. :D
Holy shit.... havent even seen it to the end yet, but what an amazing run. I didn't even know people speedrun worms, and this is just amazing. The skill, the precision and most of all the crazy strats are just impressive.
I played Worms Armageddon for fun / nostalgia a bit ago, and thought to myself "I wonder if there's a speedrun of this lol". Looked this up only for a giggle to see if it existed, and ended up getting WIDLY impressed by how talented Ruffledbricks was here! Really didn't expect there to be such a dedicated speedrunning community in a game like this. Love to see it!
I love watching games not ment or been made for speedruns optimized like this. The runner was very enjoyable to listen to too throughout the run. Brilliant video
probably the only speedrun i watched all the way through. very skilled, informed runner and quite good commentator. fun to watch this run of my favourite old game...
Unfortunately this run was quite early (around 5-6am local time iirc) so not many people were awake at ESA to watch it live (I joined the room around half way into the run myself)
I knew this would be cool and quirky, but I did not expect this level of wizardry. very impressive speedrun, and now it's got me planning on a worms session with some friends.
Really loved the speed run. I did not expect to enjoy it so much. I also liked seeing the audience member behind snile in approval of certain tricks :D
This run was spectacular. The difficult level is bonkers with all those pixel perfect ticks, rgn manipulation and differents scenarios, so there's no shame in making a few mistakes IMO. WA is such an amazing game that I love since my childhood. thank you very much.
Worms: Allright guys! Send the best against this guy! We have banana bombs, airstrike and sheeps! He have no chances! RuffledBricks: Ok, this one is going to be one-turner.
Delightful, in every aspect. Was thinking about playing some Worms Armageddon LANs with friends for a while. : > Love this game, have good memories with it.
This was so relaxed, just sheer knowledge of the game combined with skills. Interesting to see the differences between the PC version and the PS 1 version. Would love to see a speedrun on the PS 1 game, as that took me a good long while to do back in the day. Cracking video though!
My first game for PS1 Mom nearly died laughing when she found out what the game was about lmao Also the most impressive run ive seen in a long time, very nice!
What a glorious nostalgia trip this was!! :) I was playing THE SHIT outta this game back since its release all throughout the 00s, including with the pimped-up mod. (whose name eludes me right now) I gotta say -- this runner is the BEST I've ever seen, not only in terms of skills, but also PRESENTATION as he goes along. (AND he even has dashing looks to boot! xDD) Just... wow! :O Only bad moment is, he was so immersed in his oral presentation while playing, that this inevitably led to a few errors, which would have otherwise probably shaved like 2 minutes from the total runtimes, if he wasn't so intent on talking all the time. Keep up the good work! :)
Damn, it's wild enough just to hear a speedrunner who doesn't speak in the "lobotomised Californian teenager on Discord" monotone drawl. Even more entertaining run actually playing the game instead of just abusing a million glitches.
Sick skill in the wonderful game. I don't think I even went past the chemistry mission. The game is hardcore, like all good old games. No holding hand, no giving 20 second chances before death. I miss y2k.
Mortars are crazy powerfull in competetive games ! You just need to aim them at the wall above target, so all spread is focused after bounce and deals up to 70 dmg :) This also allows to get a lot of the worms covered from line of sight or grenade trajectory
i remember playing this on PS1 back in the day when i was a kid. Needless to say i kinda sucked at it. But anyway if you like ambient music check out the soundtrack to this game. Its a really awesome ost
The comment here are awesome. It's not breaking the game, it's just playing it. But I really feel the game deserves a larger audience, to clap, e.g. on the holy hand grenade kills.
it's one of those really rare speedruns that instead of breaking the game, just plays it really well the intended way
intended is a bit of a stretch :)
… mostly.
there are few not really intended mechanics, but he really plays it very well (all that pixel aiming takes A LOT of practice just to remember them all).
i love how he talks about it and goes through the whole speed run explaining and giving some trivia.

What are other games like that? Please, name
This guy is a amazing at explaining what is happening and keeping it entertaining and very professionnal.
The amount of precision in this run is amazing
the random wind and grenade timers swaps are ridiculous lol.
The fact there was such a small audience really hammered home for me how few people actually even remember Worms Armageddon.
You're getting old.
Still the best Worms game hands down
You're right but I also think that many people were asleep because the run was at 5.30 am
Great charismatic runner and impressive gameplay
No offense to the younger runners, but more older runners like this fellow would be cool👍
One of my favourite things watching this video is watching the moustached guy to the left to see when he smiles and applauds because then I know when to smile and applaud
This and Worms 2 were a big part of my childhood. Thank you guys for a great run!
This is insane. I played this game as a kid extensively and I understand amount of RNG in it. And pixel perfect manipulation of launches and explosions is insane... Great job.
What RNG has to do with this game?
@@itzhakdavidi2775 the bots sometimes land great shots or blow themselves up depending on rng
I just stopped by for a quick nostalgia hit, but this was a really well optimized speedrun. Watched the whole thing!
I used to stay up all night on the weekends playing this online with 56k dial-up while I was in high school. The music and ambience brought back so many memories. Excellent game and a great run. Thank you!
Nothing better than wandering in a game and wondering wtf PACK means and why everyone keeps killing you and calling you a cow.

My life will never be the same.. Absolutely amazing move right there
came for the handsome runner, stayed for the said handsome runner's very explanatory commentary. i've always been an avid fan of speedrunning ever since ive discovered its existence, however this is the first time ive actually wanted to speedrun a game from watching it being done. this looks super fun!
This run is just the perfect combination of advanced strats I can actually understand, nostalgia and excellent commentary.
Amazing skills on display here - and the runner is a really good communicator
Man this is a blast from the past. I played this game with my cousins all the time on a single computer in PVP. Sometimes there were some awesome clutch moves but in general we loved the Holy Hand Grenades.
This was one of the most entertaining speedrunes i habe ever seen, and i'm watching them regurarly sińce 2008
Good lord, I never dreamed this game could be played so precisely.
1:02:32 the face of the spectator on the right perfectly reflects how I feel about this run
watching this man do things that took me months to clear is just insulting. great job!
The gamplay was stellar as expect. But the NARRATION was also ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent run, couldn't imagine I'd be watching a speedrun of Worms Armageddon. Great running commentary and explanations of everything. :)
I'd never thought that Worms might be a great speedrunning experience. Well done, RuffledBricks!
Awesome, you killed it. Very fun speedrun and entertaining commentary for this classic game.
Explanations are really good.
That was simply awesome. That game was my childhood.
Thanks a lot for your great commentary!
I played Worms Armageddon for fun / nostalgia a bit ago, and thought to myself "I wonder if there's a speedrun of this lol". Looked this up only for a giggle to see if it existed, and ended up getting WIDLY impressed by how talented Ruffledbricks was here! Love to see it!
Wow, that was masterpiece of a run! Good job!
I love watching games not ment or been made for speedruns optimized like this. The runner was very enjoyable to listen to too throughout the run. Brilliant video
Now there's a speedrun I can get behind. No glitches, not out of bounds, just perfect mastery of the mechanics
Wow, this brings back memories. And the level of skill and precision is unreal! Great run, very entertaining!
probably the only speedrun i watched all the way through. very skilled, informed runner and quite good commentator. fun to watch this run of my favourite old game...
I can’t believe only 5 people saw this live, this was insane!
I see 6
Unfortunately this run was quite early (around 5-6am local time iirc) so not many people were awake at ESA to watch it live (I joined the room around half way into the run myself)
The room is bigger than what's shown on screen. There were more people (like me) off camera on the left.
Wow, just blitzing through this! The muscle memory is insane.
Impressive skills and commentary, precise and clear all the way👍
Congratulation on the run
The strats are so cool
Man I never knew this game could get so precise and technical. Great explanation of the strats.
This run was spectacular. The difficult level is bonkers with all those pixel perfect ticks, rgn manipulation and differents scenarios, so there's no shame in making a few mistakes IMO. WA is such an amazing game that I love since my childhood. thank you very much.
Not sure what's best here. The gameplay or the commenting.
First time I have seen a speedrun of worms Armageddon!
He is an ACTUAL ninja with the rope O.O
i remember that radiation pie chart graphic at the start of the mission taking a solid 20s to load back in the day
haha the slow claps are awesome. also loved that mole bomb + mine captain kill, very smart
Just WTF 😮 played it as an child and this is just mindblowing
The hours me and my sister put into Worms when we were younger was mad! loved this run and the care put into the explanations
Insane. Speedrunning this game with all the variation in outcomes would be infruriating! Nice af
Imagine playing worm against this guy and he obliterates your squad in turn 1.
: > Love this game, have good memories with it.
this is the most amazing thing I've seen on UA-cam in since the tetris world championships
Armageddon is the best entry in the series by a long shot
This was very impressive. I loved the worms games as a kid, and the precision on display here is amazing.
We loved this game so much, it was always fun at lanparties in multiplayer.
Bought this whole franchise on steam during sale. :)
This was so relaxed, just sheer knowledge of the game combined with skills. Interesting to see the differences between the PC version and the PS 1 version. Would love to see a speedrun on the PS 1 game, as that took me a good long while to do back in the day. Cracking video though!
My first game for PS1
Mom nearly died laughing when she found out what the game was about lmao
Also the most impressive run ive seen in a long time, very nice!
What an exquisite run
The Eiffel Tower mission... that caused me a nightmares when I was kid... took me forever to pass it :D
Incredible shot!
Runner did a great job with both commentating and playing. Solid work.
The absolute precision of this man! Great run :)
Awesome run and great to watch and listen!
That was an amazing run. Really awesome tech and great commentary! Loved it.
this game is so "sweet". Childhood memories. Awesome run
What a glorious nostalgia trip this was!! :)

Honestly one of the best speedruns i have ever seen.
This was a great run and a great runner!
Great run
Love he speedrun and the commentary. So perfect
Damn, it's wild enough just to hear a speedrunner who doesn't speak in the "lobotomised Californian teenager on Discord" monotone drawl. Even more entertaining run actually playing the game instead of just abusing a million glitches.
surprised I watched all of this... only wanted a quick nostalgia hit, but RuiffledBricks kept it really entertaining!
That 24:00 was dope
By the Grace of Holy Hand Grenade, this was impressive! Pleasure to watch!
Very Dave Gorman vibe to this speedrun. Enjoyed a lot
This was perfect, really fun to watch and listen to. Excellent!
Wow, this run was just pure mastery of skill!
Sick skill in the wonderful game. I don't think I even went past the chemistry mission. The game is hardcore, like all good old games. No holding hand, no giving 20 second chances before death. I miss y2k.
Not many people here but the run was mad cool,i wonder if worms world party alt tab girder glitch can work in this game too
Amazing run. Even greater runner!
Mortars are crazy powerfull in competetive games ! You just need to aim them at the wall above target, so all spread is focused after bounce and deals up to 70 dmg :) This also allows to get a lot of the worms covered from line of sight or grenade trajectory
probably my favorite speedrun
Crazy speedrun! Great job, runner

1:03:00 2 shoes. 1 boot.
Thats was very entertaining! Thank you!
This is freakin' awesome! Thank you so much RuffledBricks and the ESA fam
Enjoyed this immensely.
A pretty precise and entertaining run, I enjoyed it a lot, thanks!
The comment here are awesome. It's not breaking the game, it's just playing it.
But I really feel the game deserves a larger audience, to clap, e.g. on the holy hand grenade kills.
Good job RuffleBricks! I'm playing this game with my best friend since we were little😃
Great run and good narrating ! Superb play.
Still remember when my friend got Worms 1 and we died laughing at the cutscenes. And I was running out of time regularly ^^
The moment i realize how bad i was - i am, actually- at this game. Stunning performance!
this game is just as fun as I remember it
30:55 for the biggest boon of the entire run, as spoken by the runner himself
You mean boom right?
@@Determinor did he?
Really interesting run, loved the runners humour and skill too :) Thanks!
"Earthworm Jim wastes no time, only worms."
Great run. Very interesting!
