Probably my most requested tutorial of 2019, and in 2020 I finally made it. While the main tutorial is focused on coloring, shading and rendering hair, I'm also giving a lot of tips on how to sketch and line the hair.

i don’t draw even vaguely realistic hair but this still helped me with understanding how to do it better.

OMG THANK YOU THIS HELPED ME A LOT ! I'm a traditional artist who's starting on digital painting, and honestly I'm having several problems, it seems that I don't know how to draw anymore, it is rlly frustrating ... there is some possibility of you teaching how to color skin? I’ve been struggling with this, and being honest, I'm almost giving up on digital painting because of that.. But when I see your evolution, I lift my head up, keeping in mind that one day I can, and will, reach that level if i keep trying and never giving up!
I also struggle with skin, but I find that adding a pinkish tint helps
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?

I’m a digital artist and I’ve been drawing for a few months now- or ever since the COVID 19 lockdown started and I was in summer break and I was bored with an iPad. I use a line art anime style and I’m amazed at the amount of details and rendering in line art-less styles. I really want to change my art style and I’m a bit unsatisfied with my current style so I’ve been watching multiple tutorials on how to paint hair and various other body parts. Your tutorials really helped. Thanks!

Could you do a tutorial for men hairstyle too, please? Kind of Buzzcut or a High&Tight for example. How it doesn´t look like a Fakir just wake up on his nail bed with a little Sonic the Hedhehog vibe?
Just draw them the same hairstyle as the girls.
Men can also have nice flowing hair ;)

This is fabulous! In your future tutorials, could you address the use of the layers and the setting you assign and explain why you use them in more detail. That would be very helpful. I’m just starting to figure out layers. I have gone over your layers tutorials as well as some others, but I still don’t get it. Thanks for doing these tutorials they are great. BYT did you ever do part 2 on the Layers Tutorial and if so what did you call it?
Aw, thanks for the feedback 🙏 I'll try to remember to mention it. Usually, when I don't say anything about layer settings, it is because I'm using the standard-setting. But maybe I could just try to remember to mention that ^^ And I didn't make part 2 about layer masks yet 😭 but a lot of people are asking for it so I really SHOULD asap XD

For shading you could also change the color to black and put the brush your using on 50% opacity and use it like that you could do the same thing for highlights as well by changing the color to white and using the brush at 50% opacity or thats what I do at least
I know that this sounds like a gush, and I guess it is! This video is a MasterClass on hair! You give so much in your how to videos, I spent years learning techniques in photoshop that seemed I had to renew in each update! You have provided quality content for free. Now like every technique that you see you must practice it to use it effectively, yet some things are not apparent at first or even sixth look! Photoshop has buried tools and you show access to them! Keep going just as you are, those who want to expand their digital prowess will keep watching your channel! Be safe and take care.

I really love this, but one thing was driving me nuts. The hair on the left side of the image seems to be going more outward at a diagonal angle away from the head? And it could just be a trick of my eyes but I feel like the bottom should have curved in more towards the head. Still, this was a really helpful and lovely tutorial, and thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Thank you for doing this tutorial. I have a question; you said in your video that Photoshop brushes don't have blend options. But what about the brush blend mode options in the toolbar? Or is that not what you mean?

Yes! It is okay to start art at any age. It doesn't really matter when you start.
